Advantages: Makes your skin come alive
Disadvantages: The tingle fades!
Right, I'd like you to go into sucking mode.
OK, now imagine you are sucking or have just sucked a strong mint - yes a mint, what did you expect? Notice how your mouth feels all sort of fresh and tingly and how the vapours of the mint have seeped their way up into your nasal passages leaving your head feeling light and clear.
Now transfer the same feeling you have in your mouth so that it is all over your body, everywhere, and you are one big fresh tingle. Done that? Well that is how you feel after using Original Mint Source Bath & Shower Gel. Plus your nose gets reasonably clear as a bonus.
I had a free 50 ml sample of Original Mint Souce so I gave it a try last night. As I lay in the bath I squeezed some of the gel onto a wet sponge and worked it up into a right old lather. Plenty of bubbles and the smell started to invade my nostrils. I used the sponge and gel, as you do, and I felt my body begin to tingle. Yes a definite tingle. I continued until I was all sparkly and clean.
On stepping out of the bath the tingling continued, in some delicate areas it was much more noticeable. It felt OK though and was a nice, clean feeling.
"So far so good", I thought, "Wonder what it's like for the hair?"
Plenty of lather as I massaged a small blob of gel into my scalp and there was that tingle again, even after I had I towel dried my hair.
We were going out that evening so I had to be quick to see if my BoyFriend noticed the smell. I wondered if it would clear his nostrils! I pulled on my bath robe and went in the living room to give him a hug. No response! After a little while he said, "You smell strange".
I asked him if he liked the smell. "Yea fine", he mumbled stretching to watch the television. As this was for a Dooyoo op this just wasn't good enough, so I told him to have a
So he gave me a good sniffing. Two minutes and thirty-seven seconds later he'd unfortunately reached the limits of his sniffing capability. Me, now with a silly grin and nearly cross-eyed, said, "Well?"
"Your going to laugh at this", he said. I said I didn't normally (well at least not to his face) and he started to ramble on about how I have to bring every conversation down to the lowest level but finally he uttered, "Mint".
We set out to the pub where we were meeting friends, it was my turn to drive, worse luck.
BF got stuck into a few drinks and started to relax. He then started to call me Polo, which I didn't find very amusing. Needless to say someone asked why he was doing this. He started to say, "Because she's the mint with .." I managed to leap in with some other remark before he could finish and gave him the evil eye. I looked at his flush face and thought, "Oh dear, it's either going to be Mr. Floppy or Mr. Rambo when we get back to the flat".
Mr. Floppy fell asleep until we drove into my parking space. Once inside the flat he decided to have a shower and I went to bed.
A short while later in he walks into the bedroom saying he'd used my shower stuff and was all tingly - which was quite apparent! I still didn't laugh. He fell into bed but straight away became Mr. Floppy, mouth open, animal noises coming out, mostly pig. "What a waste", I thought as I turned over covering my ears trying to sleep. "No, I'm never going to get married", I decided.
PART TWO : About Original Source.
The Original Source products are made in the UK by Health & Beauty Solutions Ltd of London. The story is that they are based on Australian bush remedies of a folk hero called Ellen Wakeman.
Ellen joined the Aussie Gold Rush in 1857 which really wasn't what women were supp
osed to do back then. Following this she bluffed her way into a job with a barber and got interested in herbs she found local to where she worked. She concocted various remedies and skin lotions and it these that are claimed to be the inspiration for the Original Source products.
Their gels and lotions contain natural oils such as Tea Tree, Lemon, Lavender and Eucalyptus. None of the products have been tested on animals and they say they do regular checks to make sure that any ingredients used have not been tested on animals either.
They have a web site: www.originalsource.co.uk. At the time of writing they offer free samples of their shower gels, though you can't choose which one you would prefer. If, following using your gel, you send them an email with your comments they will send you another sample.
PART THREE : My Conclusions.
The gel lathers really well, smells nice (providing you like mint), helps clear the nostrils, makes the skin tingle while using and for a short period afterwards and leaves hair feeling soft. Personally I wouldn't use it all the time but I think I will buy some to keep in the bathroom for occassional use (in my local supermarket it is £2.49 for 250 ml size). It's the sort of thing to to use when perhaps you want to recover your senses after a heavy night or to clear your head before going for a jog.
So lets give it some points:
Tingle ability 5/5
Come alive feel 4/5
Sexiness of product 2/5
Ability to clear nostrils 4/5
Effectiveness for use on hair 3/5
Feel of skin to the touch after use 2/5
Makes you want to buy it again appeal 3/5
That's a total of 30/45 - a 66.6% approval rate, which isn't too bad.
Well I'm waiting for Mr. Floppy to get in from his work, he's in the doghouse! Trouble is he'll most likely come in with his little boy lost look and my resolve to sort ou
t a few things will melt away.
Such is life - full of tingles - hope you enjoy yours!
