Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!
After reading a few opinions on Original Source I decided to give them a try. Well, actually it was the incentive of having free samples delivered to my door that persuaded me. For those of you who aren't aware you can get up to 8 free different samples of Original Source products by visiting the website.
You fill in your details on the website and you are sent your first free sample. The idea is to then give your opinion on the product sent to you and then another one will follow. My first free sample arrived after a couple of days which I was very impressed with, it was a 25ml sachet of Original Mint Source (tea tree and mint shower gel)
I love tea tree shampoo as it always smells really fresh and leaves your hair extremely clean. You can use the shower gel on your hair and body but I do prefer to use a separate shampoo. I suppose it's ideal if you were going swimming or something so that you didn't need to take different bottles and I think that's the only time I would use a combined product.
I'm not usually exited about the prospect of having a shower or washing my hair, I certainly don't have orgasmic experiences but I was looking forward to trying something new and feeling lovely and fresh!
I ceased the moment and checked that none of the kids needed the toilet before I got in the shower, not only would it invade my privacy but when you flush the toilet the shower burns you're a***
I set the temperature just right and made sure that I was nice and wet (steady) I always think that it's better to smooth the shower gel over and already wet body as it lathers up much more easily. Thankfully the sa
chet opened nice and easily as I was imagining having to run down stairs naked for the scissors.
I was pleasantly surprised with the consistency as I was expecting it to run out of the sachet and end up on the shower floor. I'm glad to say that it was quite creamy and about the same consistency as most shampoos but not to thick that it just blobbed out. It was green in colour and unfortunately reminded me a bit of slime! Remember that?
The smell was similar to peppermint creams and I do rather like these. I rubbed it in the palms of my hands to work up a lather and then started to smooth over my arms and legs.
Mmmm, quite fresh and tingly and I felt that it would definitely cleanse the skin well. I only needed about half the sachet to cover the whole of my body so I imagine it would last quite a long time. So far so good and I was getting a bit carried away with the vigorous washing to try and awaken myself.
Now please don't be too embarrassed but we all have to wash our privates, right! And as I started to use the gel in the nether regions my delight turned to horror. It felt like I was on fire. The sensation soon changed from tingling to stinging and burning and I didn't quite know what to do. The thought of ending up with Magpie (see previous femfresh op) terrified me. I quickly turned the shower on to cold and there I was blasting my doodah with cold water in the hope that I would put out the fire. My daughter walked in the bathroom just as I was doing this and was rather amused at what I what she saw. I just hope it doesn't become the topic of conversation between her and her friends.
Around 10 minutes later I straddled out of the shower unable to put my legs together (believe me they're very rarely open) and hoped that some fresh air would finish off the cooling down process. About half an hour later I felt better and I don't think there was any lasting damage (another excuse for no sex
So all in all I experienced many different sensations when using this product and if I only used it on my body and not on my privates it would have been perfectly ok. I don't know about you however but I like a product that I can use all over, that makes me feel clean and fresh and most importantly doesn't irritate.
Maybe I'm just a sensitive soul but I'll never use this particular shower gel again. If you have sensitive skin or are prone to thrush then I wouldn't recommend it. If on the other hand you could even use washing up liquid and not be irritated then I'm sure you'll be fine.
If you wish to try out the sample before you buy (advisable) then go to www.originalsource.co.uk and fill in your details to receive the free samples. If you can't wait that long then you can buy it from most supermarkets and pharmacies for around £2.50, Boots are currently selling 250ml bottles for £2.49.
The Original Source brand is unmistakeable and the Tea Tree & Mint shower gel comes in a see through bottle with ORIGINAL MINT SOURCE emblazoned across it. It has a convenient handle for hanging up on shower units so you don't have to fumble about for it. There is actually a small warning stating that people with sensitive skin should test the product on a small area first! Didn't see that bit.
I will leave you with the statement on the front of the sachet, which made me laugh:
FOR THE MOST MOTIVATING AMD REVIVING SHOWER EXPERIENCE YOU'VE EVER HAD
Well, it motivated me to irrigate myself with cold water and it revived parts of me that I thought were dead, so I'll leave you to make your own mind up.
