Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Body Scrub
Advantages: Softens and moisturises the skin while leaving it smoother and brighter.
I first bought the Palmers Cocoa Butter body lotion because I read in a magazine somewhere that Cheryl Cole likes to use it. All these years later, I am still a really big fan of the product so when I discovered that they also do a body scrub I had to snap it up.
What does the product do?
The product uses crushed Cocoa Beans to gently exfoliate the skin on the body removing the dead and dull skin cells to reveal the radiant and healthy skin cells underneath, leaving your skin feel smooth and in a better condition. It also includes Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter to deeply moisturise the skin leaving it feeling soft and looking radiant. Vitamin E is included to remove skin aging toxins from the body to keep your skin looking younger for longer.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be applied to damp skin in the shower or bath. You need to take a generous amount of the product from the pot and massage it over the body paying particular attention to tricky dry spots such as the knees and ankles. Once the job is done, you can rinse away the product and then use a good body butter or lotion.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a plain white tub and it has a picture of some Cocoa Beans on the front. The screw top lid makes it easy to access as much of the product as is needed and there is some extra information given about the product on the pot. The body scrub will cost you around £2.50 and it can be bought from department stores such as Boots, large supermarkets and also from a large variety of online websites.
Application and Aroma
The first thing I noticed when I removed the lid is that it has the same aroma as the body lotion by Palmers. It is completely delicious and chocolatey without being artificial smelling in any way. It actually looks like a body butter so you can imagine how thick and creamy it is. It is a very pale chocolate brown colour and it is packed full of the little brown exfoliating particles. I've found the product is best applied in the shower by turning off the water again once your skin has been dampened so that it isn't washed away immediately. The ground Cocoa beans are plentiful and there's millions of them in each handful that you use. The particles are hard enough to make you feel like they're doing a good job but not so hard that it hurts the skin or makes it sore.
You can always control the hardness of them by applying less pressure as you massage the product into the skin. It feels really creamy and hydrating so it makes it a luxurious experience. It is easily to rinse the product away although you do get some little bits left behind, especially if you use it in the bath. Once the skin is dry again, it feels as moisturised as if I have used the body lotion itself. My skin feels soft, hydrated and in a really good condition. My skin looks brighter and feels really smooth so it does a good job of exfoliating the skin. It goes some way to dealing with my knees and elbows too. This is perfect to use before tanning or just when your skin is dry. It doesn't seem to harsh on the skin but I still wouldn't use it more than once or twice a week.
All in all, this is a fantastic body scrub which moisturises the skin deeply while giving it a gently exfoliation using crushed Cocoa Beans. It contains plenty of natural ingredients to nourish and hydrate the skin on the body leaving it in a better condition and feeling both softer and smoother. Not only this but that lovely chocolate aroma stays on the body too which another bonus in my eyes!
Summary: A chocolate body scrub which moisturises, softens, exfoliates and smoothes the skin.
