A gorgeous lavender bath foam from Palmolive

I love gorgeous toiletries and find nothing more relaxing than stepping into a hot bath with beautifully fragranced water and plenty of bubbles. I've always adored the scent of lavender, particularly as it's so calming and assists me in settling down for the evening after a stressful day at work. For a few years I have been using Palmolive's Aroma Therapy shower gel, but it was only after reading a number of fellow Dooyooer's positive reviews on the bath foam that I made my first purchase a couple of weeks ago.

The foam bath is contained within a rigid plastic transparent container and its' appearance perfectly mirrors its' contents, as it's a gorgeous purple colour to depict the natural essential oils of lavender, ylang ylang and patchouli. On the reverse of the rear label are several pretty images of purple flowers, which are visible when you look at the front of the bottle and they are slowly revealed as the bottle is emptied.

I always regard Palmolive products highly, as in my opinion they live up to their claims. I have wasted so much money over the years in purchasing lavender fragranced shower gels and foam baths, which always smell extremely artificial. There is nothing artificial about this foam bath, as its' combination of essential oils are totally natural and very calming.

The first time this foam bath was used was when hubby kindly offered to run me a luxurious bath after my rather hectic day and as usual, he was rather heavy-fisted when pouring the bottle. Consequently, he dispensed a little too much of the product that resulted in the bath water having approximately twelve inches of bubbles that towered above the bath top! Whilst the bath was somewhat luxurious I needed to quickly jump into the shower to rinse off the multitude of bubbles!

When I next had a bath, I dispensed a small amount of the foam bath via the easy to open flip top lid, which is a gorgeous purple colour to match the fairly thick liquid. However, I would advise to pour very gently, as the product tends to dispense rather quickly.

As soon as the bath foam made contact with the running bath water it started to create beautiful rich bubbles and the calming and relaxing fragrance soon filled my bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised at how many bubbles were created from such a small amount of foam bath and I would point out that you only need a very small amount, so the bottle should last you for many months; after which you can recycle your empty container.

The water felt considerably luxurious and as I lay in my bath I was able to sense the gorgeous essential oils, which made the bathing experience totally calming and relaxing. The bath water was soft and felt very gentle on my skin and left a subtle fragrance on my body.

Palmolive claim that this product is "anti-stress" and whilst I would agree that I felt totally de-stressed, in my opinion, most bathing products will provide this effect as a soak in the bath is a relaxing experience in itself. My skin was delicately fragranced for a short while following my bath and my skin felt beautifully soft and I suffered no adverse reactions with using this product.

Whilst this is not an issue that ever affects me, as I'm rather speedy in using my toiletries, the bottle needs to be used within twelve months of opening. I was extremely fortunate to be able to purchase my bottle in Poundland, which is excellent value for money, particularly as is contains 500 ml of beautifully fragranced foam bath that should last me for a considerable time.

I checked on Tesco website for an up to date price for you, but was surprised to see that only the shower gel is listed. Whilst I found this product available with other internet sites and ranging from £2.24 to £3.39, I can advise that I have seem it in many supermarkets, such as Morrisons and Asda.

As this is such a beautifully fragranced foam bath, it receives 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me.

I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        a good purchase

I cannot have a bath without having lots of bath bubbles in there and as such I like to have a few different kinds in the house to suit my different moods. In Boots I noticed they had the Palmolive range for just a pound a bottle and so I picked up two. One of these was the Aroma Therapy bath foam in the Anti Stress variety. I chose this as I hoped it would help me relax before bedtime.

The bottle is made from clear, recyclable plastic. It has a purple lid with a flip top which once flipped exposes a small hole which you can squeeze the bath foam out of.

On the back of the bottle, but inside, are pictures of white leaves on a purple background. The bath foam is a deep purple colour which is one that seems to regularly associated with relaxation.

There is 500ml of bath foam in the bottle which seems to be a pretty standard size.

The label on the front of the bottle says that the foam contains pure essential oils of lavender, ylang ylang and patchouli and that it will relax your senses.

To use this product you simply need to flip open the lid and squeeze some of the bath foam under the running water. I like the fact that the hole in which the bath foam comes out of is small as you can easily control how much you put into the water and avoid wastage.

As soon as the bath foam hits the running water the bubbles begin rising immediately. The bath foam has a gorgeous fragrance to it. I cannot smell the lavender in it and so I can only presume it is the ylang ylang and patchouli that I can smell. As the bath is running the bathroom fills with this gorgeous smell and makes the bath seem even more appealing. I think the fact that the fragrance fills the room and the bubbles fill the bath that I begin to relax a little bit even before getting into the bath. Having a bath using this product despite it being quite cheap feels luxurious to me and that is a very enjoyable feeling.

When I get out of the bath after using this product I notice that it leaves a subtle fragrance on my skin and I like this. The fragrance doesn't last long but it is nice that it is there for a while.

I think that this bath foam is great. It leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised after a bath as well as leaving my mind feeling quite relaxed and I think this is all we can ask from a bath foam! I would definitely recommend this product to people and would certainly purchase it again if I saw it on offer.

The perfect way to unwind at the end of the day.

Like a lot of people, I use the shower for getting clean, and have a long, hot soak in the bath if I want to relax and unwind at the end of the day. So when I saw this 'Anti-Stress' bath foam on special offer, I bought it, thinking it would fit my bathing agenda very well! I paid just £1 for it, although usually it's priced at a little over £2. Still, for 500ml, it's really not going to break the bank.

The bottle is an attractice oval shape, with a flip-up section in the middle of the lid, covering a hole through which you can squeeze out the thick, purple gel inside. This small opening works much better than most other bubble baths, because the contents don't come gushing out if you get the angle wrong; it's easy to control how much you're squeezing out. The see-through bottle has a leafy pattern stuck to it's back, so that it looks pretty in your bathroom. It's a nice touch, which makes the bottle much more interesting to look at, even when it's half-empty.

Because of the large size and low price of the bottle, I don't feel I have to scrimp when using it, but can squeeze liberal amounts in under the hot tap, resulting in an abundance of bubbles. They don't disappear too quickly either- there's usually still a small covering by the end of my bath.

This bottle proudly calls itself 'Aromatherapy Bath Foam', and states that it contains 'Pure Essential Oils of Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Patchouli' which will 'envelop you with an aura of tranquility and peace'. Sounds good, if a little waffley, but would it live up to its claims? Well, the smell of this bath foam is absolutely gorgeous- lightly floral, but with a musky, mysterious hint that stops it from becoming sweet or sickly. The scent is pretty strong too, so when you're lying back in the water, it certainly does 'envelop' you. And it makes for a very relaxing bath- and gorgeously scented skin afterwards! Plus, my skin felt soft and hydrated, which is always a good thing.

Using this generously several times a week, I'm getting through it quite quickly, but I'll definitely be replacing it when it runs out. It's a great, staple bath product that really does add to the relaxation element of having a bath, and, for the price, you don't have to worry about using too much. Recommended for anyone who loves their long, relaxing soaks like I do!

A great supermarket choice for a bedtime relaxing bath

A pleasant scented bubble bath, in a small compact bottle easy to take away and for small storage in the bathroom.

Im a fan of palmolive aromatherepy foam, its price varies very slightly from shop to shop but generally is from £2 - £2.40, I have found it cheapest at wilkinsons and shops such as asda and tesco regularly do this bubble bath under 2 for 1 deals, so an even better buy.

It has a thick liquid base and only a small amount is needed to gain enough bubbles for your bath therefore again its good economically. It is very relaxing with the lavender scents invigorating the whole bathroom when poured under running water and cleans the skin as well as softens it and has a lasting scent upon the skin which is a bonus as many bubble baths leave no scent at all, only the higher ended brands.

A good all rounder for the bath and especially to relax in at night if you cant afford essential oils, comes in two sizes and the smaller one as said is perfect for travelling.

Exotic and sensational shower gel from Palmolive

Palmolive Aroma Therapy Foam Bath-Anti stress

I was searching for a shower gel as my old one was squeezed off till the last drop and got this one in during my last week's shopping. The Palmolive brand is predominantly well known for its bath and shower products and this one is no exception. The packaging is really nice with the product name and brand written quite clearly.

I first used it in a very stressful day and was really amazed at its value. The smell was actually awesome and typically conveys the mix of ingredients and flowery fragrance.

The liquid is very smooth and quite rich in consistency unlike other shower gels which are quite watery and flows down the shower in minutes. This shower gel has a differential feature in terms of enriched natural essential oils of Lavender, Chamomile and Patchouli which is very soothing for the skin and also has some toning effect. I do not understand the real science behind the plant extracted natural oil but I understand that the these are extracted from some trees, seeds, barks and natural roots and are very good for healthy skin nourishment. I can vouch for the wholesome impact it left after the shower. The cream is really revitalising in nature.

I am sure you will enjoy your experience with this gel although it might pinch a pocket a bit as it is quite expensive at a price around £2 as compared to other brands in the same genre. I saw them on offer in Sainsbury's couple of weeks back and grabbed few.

Pick this one on your next visit

            Disadvantages

a great de-stressing bath foam for just £1

I'm definitely a bath rather than a shower woman as I always regard showers get you clean & refreshed whilst a good long soak in the bath is a great way to wind down after a busy day.

Over the years I must have used hundreds of different bubble baths, oils, pearls, lotions & potions some of which have been expensive & some very cheap & all giving varying results. I used to be of the opinion that you pay for what you get - until I tried Palmolive Aromatherapy Anti-Stress Bath Foam.

I can't believe this only cost £1 as you get 500ml & the bottle containing the gorgeous purple liquid is so attractive that I thought the price would have been a lot higher.

It's as shown in the photo but more attractive & has a flip-top opening which is easy to open & snap shut which ensures you don't get drips down the side of the lovely bottle. The pouring hole is a little on the generous side so if you're using it be careful not to use too much as just a samll amount will suffice.

The smell is gorgeous & the bathroom & the body smell (for quite a while after using it) of a lovely blend of lavender, ylang ylang & patchouli - just perfect in my opinion. The fragrance is quite strong yet subtle & it foams up well in the bath & is, as it says, very relaxing whilst making the skin feel soft & moisturised.

I'm not sure that Palmolive - Colgate's claim that the product helps you 'indulge your senses' & help 'rediscover your inner peace' but I certainly felt calm & relaxed after my session!

The ingredients are all listed on the reverse label & include a few natural ones but also some I've never heard of such as cabin oil & benzyl salicylate etc. I won't bore you with the complete list as it's there for everyone to read & I don't want to spoil it for you!

            summary
            ~
            - gorgeous colour & perfect texture.
            - smells divine.
            - does seem to de-stress & relax.
            - skin feels lovely & soft as well as moisturised.
            - can't believe it was just £1 - recommended!

              Palmolive Aromatherapy Foam Bath Anti-Stress

              Palmolive Aromatherapy Foam Bath Anti-Stress

I have been using this the last couple of weeks and as it contains Lavender it certainly does manage to make you feel calmer and chilled out after a day that had been demanding and stressful.

I like the shape bottle and the bath gel is a lovely soothing colour of purple just like lavender. It is in 500ml bottles and it is very economical to use as you only require a small amount in the bath as it goes a long way.You pour some in while the bath is running and it certainly makes a lot of foamy bubbles .
After using this ones skin feels so soft and silky and smells clean and fresh. Also you will feel that your whole body just feels so relaxed and after a bath you just feel

The cost is about £1 but I usually shop around for any good deals such as buy 3 for the cost of 2.

So if you are looking for something to use in a bath that makes you feel not only clean and fresh but stress free just go and treat yourself to a bottle of Palmolive Aromatherapy Foam Bath .

                Disadvantages

Beat the stress in a bath

Probably not obvious from my reviews on here is that im an angry person, a person who gets stressed easily and then just cannot LET IT GO! It is so hard for me to cut off and relax from the day that often it takes me until bed time to do so and then im thinking ive gotta do it all again tomorrow!

I wish I had the answers to this but I dont and never will. Meanwhile all I can do is try and calm myself somehow. Exercise is helpful and so too are baths. You have to get the bath right though. Water temperature, lighting, peace and quiet are all soooo important and so too is your bubble bath.

Well I heard ages ago that aromatherapy is a load of nonsense and scientifically speaking none of the fraganced oils actually do anything. PPPPFFFFTTT! to that is all I can say. Lavender has always been one of my favorite smells. It is NOT just for old ladies! I have a lavender bush in the garden that I like to smell often (when the bees arnt on it). I believe its relaxing properties to be true and so I like to use lavender products in my bath.

One of the products I use in my bath is palmolives anti stress bath foam. It comes in a large 500ml clear plastic bottle with purple flip top lid. The bath foam is also purple and contains three essential oils - lavender, ylang ylang and patchouli.

The scent is lovely, you can smell the lavender but it is mixed in the other two fragrances with is a wonderful soft musky smell. On the back on the bottle it says it will soften your skin and relax you by enveloping you in an aura of tranqillity and peace. Well.. having a peaceful house helps too of course.

I just pour the foam under running hot water and instantly the bubbles appear. You dont need to use a lot and it is hard to judge when you are just squeezing it out of a bottle as opposed to using a cap full. But I dont mind if I make too many bubbles it is all the more relaxing for me.

Even before I get into the bath the fragrance fills the room and I know that soon im going to be so much more relaxed than before. I am so calm when im in my bath that I can stay in for ages, only trouble is when the water gets cold heh. I highly recommded this foam bath to anyone who needs to relax.

I cannot actually find the price of this on tesco price check but they do have the showergel version of the same anti stress version in the same size bottle for 1.90

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

really does help you feel relaxed

As most of you now know I am addicted to beauty products, whether it be shower gels, soap, bubble baths, moisturisers or perfume. I'm not fussy when beauty potions and lotions are concerned and Ill use anything as long as it smells nice and doesn't irritate and dry out my skin. At the end of a long day I love relaxing in a hot bath surrounded by lots of bubbles. I'm not particularly fussy when choosing a bubble bath and ill use just about anything as long as it smells nice, my favourite bubble bath is a Nougat London one but its really expensive to buy so I only use it now and again. My local Tesco store is like Aladdin's Cave, its huge and they always seem to have lots and lots of beauty products on Special Offer. A few weeks ago they were selling large 500ml bottles (50% extra free so I got 750ml for the price of 500ml) of Palmolive Aromatherapy Bubble Bath for £0.79 (they usually retail at £1.99).

As you can see from the picture at the top of this review the bottle of bubble bath is supplied in a tall curvy (almost oval) shaped plastic bottle. On the top of the bottle there is a purple coloured flip top lid which you just flip upwards to open and flip downwards to close the bottle and prevent the bubble bath from leaking everywhere. I think that the bottle is quite plainly designed because there isn't much detail or design on the labelling. It just states that the bubble bath contains essential oils and that it is anti-stress and contains lavender, ylang-ylang and patchouli which help you to re-discover your inner peace and envelop an aura of tranquillity.

I actually quite like the packaging for the bubble bath because it is made from see through plastic. I like shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, bubble baths and body lotions etc which are supplied in clear see through bottles because it is easy to see exactly how much of the product you are using and how much is remaining inside the bottle. The bubble bath inside the bottle is a lovely deep purple coloured gel. I really like the consistency of the bubble bath as well because it is a lot thicker than some of the other bubble baths I have bought in the past. I think that it is similar in consistency to Herbal Essences Shampoo or Fairy Liquid. The thick consistency of the bubble bath means that you don't really need to use a lot of it in order to get a bath full of thick bubbles.

When I was in the bath I was surrounded by lots of very rich bubbles and the scent of the bubble bath along with the warmth of the water made me feel so relaxed and calm. I think that Palmolive Anti Stress bubble bath is so much better than the Radox bubble baths I used to use because it actually makes you feel calm and relaxed and the bubbles seem to be a lot thicker and creamier. When I was using the bubble bath I only had to use a very small amount to get a bath full of bubbles and benefit from the relaxing calming aroma which the bubble bath produces. After I had soaked in the hot bath with the bubble bath I noticed that my skin also felt slightly softer and that it was also lightly fragranced. The fragrance from the bubble bath lingered on my skin for a couple of hours after I had bathed so I could also benefit from the calming aroma for a while after I came out the bath.

The fragrance from the bubble bath is gorgeous I think that it smells quite similar to Baby Lotion; before I smelled the bubble bath I thought I wasn't going to like the fragrance because it contained lavender essential oils. Most of the time I find lavender quite strong and cloying but in this instance the lavender is barely noticeable and is more overpowered by the patchouli and ylang-ylang. The patchouli gave the bubble bath a slightly woody/earthy aroma where as the ylang-ylang had more of a sweet/fruity/floral aroma. I think that the ylang-ylang and the patchouli compliment each other perfectly where as the lavender was barely identifiable the ever so slightly floral scent I could detect from the bubble bath was from the patchouli essential oil and not the lavender.

As I stated earlier in this review the Palmolive Anti-Stress bubble bath contains essential oils which help to relax you. The main reason the essential oils help you to feel relaxed and calm is because the fragrance from the essential oils have a direct effect on our brain and lymph system when we inhale through our nose. Essential oils are thought to act in the area of the brain responsible for our emotions and wellbeing, delivering beneficial effects. Essential oils are mainly extracted from plants, bark, flowers, stalks, leaves, seeds, roots and resins.

Lavender has been really popular since ancient times and it has a wide range of uses; Lavender is said to be calming if small amounts are used and Stimulating if large amounts are used. There must only be a very small amount of Lavender in the bubble bath and this is one of the main reasons why I couldn't really smell it. The effects from Lavender are ~ calming, soothing and balancing.

Ylang-Ylang is said to be calming, sensual, and slightly sedative. It is a great essential oil which helps to relieve everyday stress and it blends well with patchouli. Just like lavender ylang-ylang is best used in small amounts. Ylang-Ylang also means flower of flowers. Its exotic fragrance is warming and helpful for instilling confidence.

Patchouli was extremely popular in the 60's and is still as popular today. It is a great essential oil for relieving stress and is also a mild sedative just like ylang-ylang. It is also thought to be a good aphrodisiac.

I really like this bubble bath because it did make me feel relaxed and calm as well as leaving my skin nicely scented and soft. After I have finished my bottle I will definitely go and buy another bottle because it is reasonable priced and does what it claims to do. There are also two other bubble baths in the Palmolive Aromatherapy range as well as shower gels which compliment the bubble bath which can help you feel even more relaxed and calm. The other bubble baths in the range are ~

Vitality ~ Enriched with essential oils of Grapefruit, Orange and Cedar wood. Vitality is supplied in a see through plastic bottle which contains an orange coloured bubble bath inside.

Sensual ~ Enriched with a blend of pure essential oils of jasmine and rose together with orchid extracts. Sensual is supplied in a see through plastic bottle which contains a red coloured bubble bath inside.

For more information on Palmolive or any of the other products in the range then their website address is http://www.colgate.co.uk/app/Colgate/UK/PC/Products/HomePage.cvsp

You can purchase Palmolive Aromatherapy Bubble Bath from Tesco and other leading supermarkets although the price may differ depending on where you purchase it from.

A bubble bath from Palmolive with Aromatherapy Oils to help you relax

I love having hot bubble baths that I can just lie back for ages and relax while the days cares just float away! So when I saw this Palmolive Aromatherapy bath foam with its "Anti Stress" formula I thought I would give it a try.

                    What is it?
                    -------------------

Well it's a bath foam made by Palmolive and comes from their Aromatherapy range with pure essential oils. Aromatherapy describes the benefits (both physical and mental) that people obtain when they come in contact (either through smell or on their skin) with essential oils obtained from certain plants. Different oils act in different ways so some may be relaxing whilst others are energising. Essential oils are extracted from fragrant plants and most have to be diluted before they are able to come in contact with the skin. Many also have medicinal uses as antiseptics e.g. tea tree oil which can be used neat on the skin for bites, spots and cuts.

In this bubble bath the essential oils used are Lavender, Ylang-ylang and Patchouli.

                    What do these oils do?
                    ------------------------------------

Lavender is used for its calming, soothing effects. Ylang-ylang which translates as flower of flowers has an exotic fragrance and is claimed that it instils confidence and balances the mood while Patchouli is used for antiseptic properties (not sure you need that in a bath foam but never mind!)

                    What is the bottle like?
                    ----------------------------------

The bottle is a tall slightly oval shaped clear plastic bottle with a purple flip top plastic lid on the top. The lid is quite stiff to open and if you had weak hands or arthritic fingers then I think you might struggle to open it. On the front of the bottle is the logo "Palmolive" in large writing and it tells you it comes from the Aromatherapy range and contains pure essential oils and is "Anti Stress". Nothing particularly striking about the front of the bottle, simple and clear it tells you what it is.

If you look through the bottle you can see the reverse side of the label on the back and on this there are lots of different leaves in a purple colour which is quite a nice feature and tries to reinforce that this is a natural kind of product. On the reverse there is information in five different languages so slightly crowded. The ingredients are squashed in at the bottom in tiny writing that many people probably couldn't read.

It tells you that the product will soften your skin whilst the scent will "envelop you with an aura of tranquillity and peace" !!! Now I am sure if you are a mother of small children putting this in your bath and escaping for a soak whilst world war 3 erupts outside your door it is going to be a pretty impressive bubble bath that "envelops you with an aura of tranquillity and peace!!". Well there is no screaming toddlers in my house so we will see if I achieve that aura!

                    What does it smell like?
                    -----------------------------------

I always find it difficult to describe the smells of these kinds of products. Its smells flowery! Not as lavendery as I would have expected so if you don't like lavender don't write this product off completely. It smells fresh and quite pleasant but maybe not as good as some of the radox products I have used in the past.

                    Does it foam well?
                    ----------------------------

I like my baths deep with both water and with bubbles and this bath foam did not disappoint. A small blob of bath foam quickly foamed up leaving a large deep layer of bubbles across the whole bath and they lasted the whole bath time.

                    What does it cost?
                    ----------------------------

I bought mine from Sainsbury's and it cost £1.69 and was on a buy one get one free offer. There are a few different ones in the range so you should fine one you like.

Does it make you feel more relaxed?
                    ----------------------------------------------------

Difficult one to answer, I find any bath leaves me feeling more relaxed regardless of the bath foam. It did smell nice but I can't say that its anti-stress formula was any more powerful than any other pleasant smelling bubble bath. I awaited my aura of tranquility and peace but I am still waiting!

What effect does it have on your skin?
                    -----------------------------------------------------

This product felt quite gentle on my skin, it did not irritate it. It left a gentle subtle fragrance on my skin. I didn't feel it dried the skin but at the same time it did not have any moisturising effects on my skin either.

What do you think of it?
                    ----------------------------------

I think this was a pleasant well priced product to use. I think it foamed up well, had lasting bubbles and a nice smell. I do think you have to take its "Anti-Stress" claims with a pinch of salt though. I would use this product again but I don't think it was special enough to make me stop wanting to try other bubble baths.
