Advantages: Beautifully fragranced with essential oils
Disadvantages: None
I love gorgeous toiletries and find nothing more relaxing than stepping into a hot bath with beautifully fragranced water and plenty of bubbles. I've always adored the scent of lavender, particularly as it's so calming and assists me in settling down for the evening after a stressful day at work. For a few years I have been using Palmolive's Aroma Therapy shower gel, but it was only after reading a number of fellow Dooyooer's positive reviews on the bath foam that I made my first purchase a couple of weeks ago.
The foam bath is contained within a rigid plastic transparent container and its' appearance perfectly mirrors its' contents, as it's a gorgeous purple colour to depict the natural essential oils of lavender, ylang ylang and patchouli. On the reverse of the rear label are several pretty images of purple flowers, which are visible when you look at the front of the bottle and they are slowly revealed as the bottle is emptied.
I always regard Palmolive products highly, as in my opinion they live up to their claims. I have wasted so much money over the years in purchasing lavender fragranced shower gels and foam baths, which always smell extremely artificial. There is nothing artificial about this foam bath, as its' combination of essential oils are totally natural and very calming.
The first time this foam bath was used was when hubby kindly offered to run me a luxurious bath after my rather hectic day and as usual, he was rather heavy-fisted when pouring the bottle. Consequently, he dispensed a little too much of the product that resulted in the bath water having approximately twelve inches of bubbles that towered above the bath top! Whilst the bath was somewhat luxurious I needed to quickly jump into the shower to rinse off the multitude of bubbles!
When I next had a bath, I dispensed a small amount of the foam bath via the easy to open flip top lid, which is a gorgeous purple colour to match the fairly thick liquid. However, I would advise to pour very gently, as the product tends to dispense rather quickly.
As soon as the bath foam made contact with the running bath water it started to create beautiful rich bubbles and the calming and relaxing fragrance soon filled my bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised at how many bubbles were created from such a small amount of foam bath and I would point out that you only need a very small amount, so the bottle should last you for many months; after which you can recycle your empty container.
The water felt considerably luxurious and as I lay in my bath I was able to sense the gorgeous essential oils, which made the bathing experience totally calming and relaxing. The bath water was soft and felt very gentle on my skin and left a subtle fragrance on my body.
Palmolive claim that this product is "anti-stress" and whilst I would agree that I felt totally de-stressed, in my opinion, most bathing products will provide this effect as a soak in the bath is a relaxing experience in itself. My skin was delicately fragranced for a short while following my bath and my skin felt beautifully soft and I suffered no adverse reactions with using this product.
Whilst this is not an issue that ever affects me, as I'm rather speedy in using my toiletries, the bottle needs to be used within twelve months of opening. I was extremely fortunate to be able to purchase my bottle in Poundland, which is excellent value for money, particularly as is contains 500 ml of beautifully fragranced foam bath that should last me for a considerable time.
I checked on Tesco website for an up to date price for you, but was surprised to see that only the shower gel is listed. Whilst I found this product available with other internet sites and ranging from £2.24 to £3.39, I can advise that I have seem it in many supermarkets, such as Morrisons and Asda.
As this is such a beautifully fragranced foam bath, it receives 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
