This product is great - comes in many different scents and very cheap and affordable. This product is 90p to purchase on offer from most stores. This one has to be my favourite its so smooth and creamy. It lathers extremely well onto a bath lily which I prefer to use. you only need to use a small amount of product to cover the full body. the bottle is easy to manage and colourful - we have around 5 to choose from at the moment and the different colours help identify which one it is. I wouldn't consider the smell to be over powering at all but the thing I do like is that it leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth and the scent tends to stay on your skin for a good few hours which I can smell through out the day. overall I will keep buying this product you definitely cant complain for the price.
This is a lovely shower gel and one of the very few that i would buy. What i love about this shower gel is that i almost always get it for 90p a bottle in either Superdrug or ASDA. I don't really go many other places for products like this. This particular bottle has the most lovely smell and it really makes your skin lovely and clean and soft. I find this one and the honey and milk ones the best for my skin which can be irritated quite easily. What i don't quite like about this product is that it is tested on animals, i generally tend to buy a lot of products which are not tested on animals but some of these can irritate my skin which is why i use this one sometimes. If i don't use this product then i will use the original source moisturizing shower gels.
Pro's: It smells lovely and the scent stays on your skin for ages, it makes your skin lovely and soft, and it lasts longer than some others as it has a thicker consistency. Cheap if bought on offer.
Con's: Tested on animals, fiddly top on the bottle to open when in shower/bath. Can be expensive if bought out of offer.
I am one of those people who are not loyal to any particular brand of shower gel and tend to buy whatever is on offer and smells nice. My only rule is that I buy well know brand of shower gel.
My last purchase to add to my shower gel collection (I like to have few shower gels available so I can have a choice) was Palmolive Naturals Delicate Care shower milk with almond & moisturising milk. The reason for choosing this one was firstly the price, it was on half price offer and I believe I paid around £1 for it. Secondly the smell, it is just gorgeous, sweet and luxurious.
This shower milk comes in a 250ml white plastic bottle with peach coloured flip top lid. The bottle is quite slim oval shape, it has slightly changed shape from the picture you can see on dooyoo, it looks more attractive and modern. Bottle is not transparent so you won't be able to see how much product you have left.
Shower milk is white in colour and the smell really really gorgeous. It is quite thick and only small dollop on my shower rose is enough to get enough lather to cover my body. The lovely smell lingers on my skin after the shower for quite a while which is excellent consider shower gels I used before had no staying power whatsoever. In addition, this shower gel leaves my skin lovely hydrated and soft. I do not even need to use any body lotion after the shower. I do not suffer with dry skin but some shower gel can leave my skin a bit dry, this was not a case with this product at all.
The bottle claims that shower milk is enriched with extracts of 100% natural origin of almond and aloe vera and vitamin complex. It is dermatologically tested.
I brought this product from Sainsbury's on half price offer for £1 which is reasonable price I feel, the full price of the product is £1.99 which I would not be prepared to pay as there are always offers available on shower gels. This product is widely available from major supermarkets and chemist.
I will definitely purchase this product again and would definitely recommend it.
When it comes to shower gel it isn't something that I purchase that often due to not having a shower in my flat and only having a bath however occasionally I still use it and I do use it in my mates shower and she has a bath at my place due to her only having a shower cubicle at hers so we play swapsies lol.
I have tried a few Palmolive shower gels out in my time and this one is my latest purchase called Bergamot & Verbena Refrshing & Aromatic Shower Gel and I bought my bottle in Poundland and of course for a pound instead of the more probable price of closer to two pound a bottle and this is labeled as a new fragrance so is a relatively new product within the Cussons range.
This comes in a see through plastic bottle with a dark blue flip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole and on the front of it we are told of course that it is Palmolive 'Since 1898' Bergamot & Verbena Shower Gel and then on the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed, the size is stated which in this case is 250ml and contact details for Colgate-Palmolive are given. This is a nice enough bottle and I do like the slight curve this has to the middle of it for ease of handling and being able to see through the bottle to see when I'm running out and so on.
Well the liquid of this is light green and transparent and rather runny in its texture with a gentle aroma of bergamot to it which isn't too harsh or strong but nicely scented and rather unisex in my humble opinion. Other bergamot fragranced products I have used in the past have been rather strong in fragrance but not this one though I can't smell whatever Verbena is meant to smell of in all honesty!
This lathers up easily even when only using a small blob of it, its not agitating to the skin and smells really head clearing in use and so I like this one when I have a hangover or a stuffy head and nose and the likes as its rather refreshing and reviving!
This cleans my skin wonderfully and leaves me very gently fragranced for a good few hours, leaves my skin soft, is great to shave with and although it isn't overly luxurious and is more of an everyday body cleanser for the whole family to use it is nice enough and good quality.
This isn't my favourite shower gel by a long shot but I do like the scent of this one and like I say it leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth enough however if your looking to use something that leaves more of a fragrance behind itself and gives a more moisturised feeling this may not be one for you!
Available in all good chemists and supermarkets and so on and I like it well enough!
Palmolive, a brand that offers a wide selection of products, from shower gels to shampoo, from shampoo to deodorant.
The Palmolive shower gel which I use is Palmolive Naturals Shower Milk in Cherry Blossom.
If you look around your local store, it more than likely will sell this shower gel and probably most of the other Palmolive products.
I usually pay around £1.60 in my local Superdrug for 250ml, a very decent price for a very decent product.
The lid of the bottle is hot pink and the rest of the bottle is white and decorated with a few details, mine has a picture of a flower on and a cherry, the Palmolive logo and more information, the bottle is not see through.
The appearance of this product will more than likely appeal more to a female than it would to a male.
Palmolive Shower Milk Calming is enriched with moisturising milk and extract of cherry blossom which should leave your skin feeling amazing!
This shower gel also claims to help make you feel more 'calm'.
After getting in the shower I put some onto my shower puff, only a tiny amount is needed ( you should definitely invest in a shower puff if you don't have one, they help you use a lot less of shower gels! ) after rubbing in for a few seconds, a gorgeous, mild cherry smell filled up the bathroom, my skin was lathered up very well and the shower gel felt very soft on my skin.
The texture of the gel is very creamy, feels very velvety on your body and also leaves your skin feeling a lot more soft afterwards.
As for the calmness, I couldn't really feel a difference on that one if I am honest!
After I had dried myself, there was still a smell of cherry on my body, you couldn't smell it from far away but when I smelt my arms ( I sound like a weirdo don't I? ) I could really smell the cherry, unfortunately I couldn't smell it an hour or so later!
After using this lots and getting half way through the bottle, I have noticed that it becomes hard to get out, I have to squeeze really hard for some of the product to come out, but that's probably me being a weak duckling!
Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this, it's reasonable priced and cleans you beautifully, makes your skin feel really soft, and smells good enough to drink!
Imagine my horror when Boots had run out of my usual shower gel a couple of weeks ago, so I was forced to buy something new. With my little baby starting to cry I grabbed the first product which came to hand and ran out of the store with it (don't worry I did pay!)
Anyway got home and tried this the next morning.
Palmolive are an old company who have been producing shower goodies for many a year. None of their products are tested on animals and I believe that they now try and use natural ingrediants.
THis comes in a plastic bottle which is recyclable (a plus for me) and has a flip cap. This is good for the shower as it makes it hard to spill (an occupational hazard when you have to take 30 second showers while baby is crying.
Well like any shower gel just rub over your body, lather and rinse
What does it promise?
Palmolive made this creamy shower gel with milk and honey so that it is supposed to have a moisturising effect on your skin. Obviously it also promises to make you clean!
This product is quite runny but not too bad, it is definitely quite creamy and lathers up on your skin really well.
Is lovely - the honey scent really does come through strongly, making this smell sweet. The scent lingers very slightly on your skin, but in a nice way just making you smell fresh, clean and sweet.
Does it work?
Well it gets rid of baby puke and poo! I always feel clean and fresh after using it. It also does make your skin nice and soft. Although it is nowhere near as moisturising as Dove products BUT if you are using a body moisturiser too then this product is definitely a good start!
The smell is lovely and the creamy consistency make it easy to use.
Value for money?
Definitely - I got this for £2 in Boots and would definitely recommend this!
I never used to stick to 1 brand of shower gels etc, as I like to try lots of different ones, however Palmolive do keep dragging me back in! I first bought the honey and milk bath milk as I could not see any shower gels. I do admit this was quite annoying because it did not have a squeezy bottle so it all came flowing out and was not very handy for a quick shower. However I now buy the honey and milk shower gel and the appropriate bottle makes a big difference! The fragrance is great and is really lovely and subtle and sweet. It is not a very refreshing fragrance but that is not what its for. Its lovely and creamy and thick and is more moisturising than refreshing. I recently bought the new cherry and cotton shower gel and I must admit I think it smells of parma violets, which I thought was ment to smell of lavender! Im not sure I like that 1 so I might go back to the milk and honey 1 next time.
I don't normally get excited about shower gels/ creams, (i mean how exciting are they really?!) so you will have to excuse me the ridiculous excitement that is about to follow. I tried the Palmolive naturals milk and honey shower cream and have been hooked ever since. It is seriously the best thing since sliced bread, which is a shocking statement for me considering its not even edible!
Palmolive milk and honey shower cream is the focus of this review as its the only Palmolive shower gel I have tried, but it is so absolutely fantastic believe me this is the only one you need to know about!!!
First things first, I have sensitive and dry skin but at the same time absolutely love sweet scented and creamy shower washes. However the two don't normally mix and its really hard to find a nicely fragrance cream or gel that doesn't irritate my skin.
Having a penchant (ooh big word) for sickly sweet fragrances , in particular honeyish ones I was automatically drawn to this on the shelf. I did think however that this one won't be any good for me...oh no what's that....does it really say for sensitive skin on it?! why yes I believe it does!!
I was more than a little excitedm, as you can imagine. I ran to the til, in boots this was, and couldnt believe it when I found out it was on offer for only £1, absolute bargain! I couldnt wait to get this home and crack it open.
The bottle looks exactly as it does on the picture, the typical palmolive round topped bottle with a pale yellow lid.
When I poured it into my hand in the shower, it was a thick white cream that smelt so sickly sweet. It really did smell exactly like milk and honey and if you closed your eyes you could almost imagine yourself a greek goddess and being bathed in honey and milk. I absolutely loved this scent but if you aren't a lover of sweet fragrances this really isn't for you. It was a very creamy texture, which I personally prefer to the gels, and it felt very silky soft on my skin. It lathered nicely under the water, not very much lather mind but just enough to wash easily with.
Even as I was washing it off my skin felt so much softer and silkier all ready. This feeling lasted long after I had gotten out the shower and dried off.
The smell was so lovely and sweet and realyl lingered on my skin for hours, not in an overpowering way so that it would clash with an y perfumes but enough so that I felt that I smelled sweet and fresh.
This shower cream was absolutely perfect for my sensitive skin, it didnt irritate me in any way shape or form , unlike a lot of shower gels. It simply left my skin feeling silky soft, moisturised and most of all smelling sweet. I couldnt rate it any higher, this is a must buy!!!
I purchased four different types of this shower gel from Asda, as they had an excellent offer on: buy 4 bottles for £3 or pay £1 a bottle. I thought that either way this was a great offer as they currently cost from £1 to £1.89 depending on the type in Boots.
As I have dry skin I decided to try the coconut milk and milk extract shower gel as this was specifically for dry skin.
The bottle is relatively attractive, with a white bottle and a lilac lid. The bottle isn't transparent so you can't see how much you've got left and you also cannot turn the bottle upside down when it's almost empty due to the curve of the lid. The bottle is opened by a flip top lid which seemed quite sturdy to me; it is also very easy to open.
The shower gel is a pearlescent white colour and has a fair thick consistency - it's not too thick, but it is thicker than a normal shower gel. As soon as you squeeze some gel out you can smell the coconut straight away and it's lovely, it doesn't seem to linger on your skin at all afterwards which is a shame.
I bought the shower gel without much expectation of it making my skin feel any more moisturised, I've noticed that many shower gels have characteristics attributed to them which they just don't have - energising, reviving etc, perhaps it's just me but I usually think 'yeah it smells nice but does it energise (or whatever) me? No!' This shower gel however has made me realise that some shower gels can live up to their promises. I've been really impressed with just how moisturised my skin feels after a few weeks of using this, I'm usually in a mad rush on a morning, and I've found that using this shower gel means that if I'm in too much of a hurry then I can skip applying moisturiser and not have my skin feel tight and dry by mid-afternoon.
The shower gel does contain milk, so I don't know if it's suitable for people who have a dairy intolerance - my mum has a dairy intolerance and won't use any product which contain milk, I don't know if this is just her personal preference or whether she would actually have a reaction of some sort.
I'd definitely recommend Palmolive shower in general I've used a few other their other types of showergel and always found that whatever the bottle says the product will do, it does! I know my husband likes using their male products and they have such a huge range of products that there's bound to be one that suits your skin type. If you do have dry skin, then I think that you'll be really impressed by the difference the coconut and milk shower gel makes to your skin.
Palmolive shower gels are made by the Colgate-Palmolive company and are widely available in chemists and supermarkets. However, a quick internet search shows that the shower gel I've reviewed doesn't appear to be available in Boots, you can however find it on the Asda website.
I defy anyone not to fall in love with the Palmolive shower gel range.
There are several beautiful fragrances, my favourites being milk and honey and olive.
The shower gels come in an attractive package, being both pleasing to the eye and easy to use. I have never had the problem of oversqueezing and getting way to much of the product out than you want. In fact a small amount of this stuff can be used to cover a large amount of skin! One bottle does last for a couple of weeks and its not one of those products that you buy and disappears within days.
It feels glorious to ths skin - so shiny and creamy. When I use it, I feel as though I am really treating my skin.
The beautiful smell is long lasting and can be detected on the skin during the course of the day.
The product usually costs just under £2, but it is frequently sold on offer for around half this price. When it is on offer, I tend to buy in bulk and stock up!
I think Palmolive shower gels are lovely. There are lots of different scents to choose from mine are the milk and honey one and a new cherry blossom one which is lovely and sweet. They have quite strong smells but they are not overpowering. I think this is good as you want to smell a bit of your shower gel but don't want it to be stronger than your perfume.
Using the shower gels is easy they come in a plastic squeezy bottle with a flip lid. One problem with the design is that you can't tip them upside down to get all of the product out.
When you use them they lather up well and have nice thick and creamy bubbles. Some contain added moisturisers and they leave your skin feeling soft and fresh.
I think they are good value for money superdrug did have them for £1 for a 250ml bottle. It is a good price for the quality of the product and the lovely smells they have you can pay a lot more than this for some nice smelling shower gels.
Now these are the only shower gels I use because I love the smells so much.
Palmolive Thermal Spa - Hygrating with Thermal Minerals Shower Gel
This shower gel is smells lovely and fresh and is soft and relaxing on your skin.
The shower gel comes in a smallish clear plastic bottle with a lid on the top that you can pop open, the top does not come off. There is a label on the front reading the product description..
The shower gel itself is a blue/green colour and adapts the effect of a caribbean sea colour. It has small bubbles inside which you can see quite clearly from the outside of the bottle.
The showe gel does not have a hook on, so you cannot hook this to your shower, it needs to be stood up. The bottle holds 250ml and contains Algae extract which is good for your skin, it apparently leaves your skin feeling hydrated, soft, and full of vitality.
Once opened the shower gel needs to be used with 12 months.
Overall a really nice fresh shower gel, currently on offer at 1.48 for 2 bottles in Wilkinson Stores
I LOVE using palmolive shower gels simply because they smell heavenly. The mik and honey one is my favourite, as it smells like a tin of biscuits, or even a packet of liquorice allsorts (in a sweet and tasty kind of way)
The Aromatherapy onces are really nice, too. I like them all, so next time you see a Buy One Get One Free, pick up two different ones, I'm sure you'll like them
The creamy ones lather up nicely and rinse off easily. After my shower, my skin is lovely and soft and stays soft.
I usually go for the imperial leather products when it comes to buyiong bathroom shower gels because of the lather factor and the comforting scent that I have grown up with, but whilst on a jaunt around safeways I came across this:- Palmolive, Aroma Therapy, Anti-Stress, Shower gel . This was a buy one, get one free offer for 99p which was to good to walk past, although the bottles are only 250mls at that price it was silly not to buy them. PACKAGING. The packaging is trendy, with a pear shaped clear plastic bolltle with a flip up lid. Not only do I love the flip up lids on products. Which stops my other half losing the tops off things and lessens the risk of spillages, but I like to see what I am buying and a clear plastic container lets me do this. This does sway my decision when I come to get my purse out. The writting on the bottle is clear and discriptive, which I also like, as you can stop and have a read about what you can expect from the product before buying. On the reverse of the bottle is a label which tells you all the other information you might need before you purchase this item, some people have sensative skin the ingredients are clearly printed on this label. There is also the web address :-www.palmolive.eu.com for anyone who wants to see more information. This packaging is recycleble, which I always think is a good idea. This is made by Colgate-Palmolive. CONTENTS. As you look at the bottle you can see the lovery deep purple colour of the3 shower gel through the clear plastic bottle, you get 250mls of this gel. If you tip the bottle slightly you will see that the liquid has a thick consistancy, so you don't need to put a lot of this on your shower buffer, loofah, sponge or whatever you use to scrub your skin in the shower. I love the colour of this shower gel and I like the idea that this product contains essential oils. It contains Lavender , Ylang Ylang and Patchouli oils.
All of these essential oils have calming, relaxing and soothing properties, ylang ylang also has aphrodisiac properties, so not only will this shower gel help you to feel relaxed and calm. It will also make you feel good about yourself, uplift your spirits and give you soft skin. PERFORMANCE. When you get into the shower feeling tired and stressed which quite often happens to me after a hectic day at work or if the kids have been on the phone with their problems, which sometimes happens even though two of them have left home! You only need to put a pea sized drop of this gel onto the shower buffer and it will quiclky lather up into masses of thick white foam. I have always loved foamy baths, shower gels and bubble baths, so if a product doesn't perform to my expectations then I won't ever buy it again. This shower gel passes the lather test. I always lather up my body, rinse and lather again more slowly to get the full benefit of the product. The scent of this shower gel is loverly, you can smell the lavender and ylang ylang, there is only a slight hint of patchouli oil as this essential oil can be over powering if too much is used and I was glad to see that only a hint of its scent was present in the gel. EFFECTS. Well, after using this shower gel three or four times, I decided to write about it because I do really like it. I love the way it makes your skin feel soft after use. The slight scent of the essential oils lingers on your skin too and this is really nice. It doesn't dry up my skin and irritate it, neither does it leave red blotches on it, like other cheap products. Which I must admit I was a bit worried about this with it only being 99p for two bottles. My daughter has used this too and she has very sensative skin, but it suits her too. I do think that the scent of the Lavender and the other essential oils in this product, it's a good combination of scents.
It does help you to relax and calms you after a shower. I feel calm and ready for anything after a shower with this gel. OVERALL OPINION. This gets my recommendation to you. Not only is it packaged right for me, but the price is right too. I did at first think this was too cheap and wouldn't be any good, but after using it I was proved wrong. I will be buying this again and even if it has run out of being on offer, I will look for it on the supermarket shelf. I might go as far as saying that I'd be prepared to pay a little more than 99p for it. It does relax and does what it says on the bottle, which is good for a product discription. Most cheaper products end up being a let down and you wish you'd payed that little bit extra for something else. I like the way it softens my skin too and it feels luxurious with the thick lather. If you come across this shower gel then have a try, its worth it.
Are expensive brands really necessary? When flicking through the beauty pages of magazines I see shower gels and bath foams, creams and oils priced extortionately. Do they really work any better? I very rarely pay more than £5 for a bottle of bubble bath and £2 for shower gel. Who needs to spend money on Clinique or Origins when I can get a wonderful, lovely smelling shower gel that makes my skin lovely and soft for under a pound? What is this shower gel? It is Palmolive Naturals Milk and Honey and it must be sent from the gods as it is heavenly to use. Palmolive Naturals Milk and Honey is not technically a shower gel. It is a shower cream as it is thick and moisturising and is most suitable for very dry skin. The milk extracts are supposed to replenish lost moisture from the skin. I buy this product as I tend to have dry sensitive skin and have little patches of extremely dry skin on my arms. I have always liked Palmolive although they do seem to have reduced their range of shower gels a lot as I used to like their very fruity Kiwi stuff. Palmolive products are available in most good chemists and supermarkets. I tend to buy mine in Body Care for the bargain price of 99 pence. They are a wee bit more expensive in places like Boots. The first thing you notice when picking up the product is the bottle. It is oval with a flattened bottom. I like this design as it is really easy to grasp hold of in the shower. The top is a flip top one which again is easy to use. The one design flaw of this bottle is there is no hook or clip to hang it up in the shower. On flipping up the lid you are greeted by a truly divine smell. I am sure angels must smell of this shower crème as it is just so good and feels very pure. It is not a harsh, artificial or overpowering at all. I would say the milk and honey scent is misleading as the honey scent is very very faint. It is just a background scent. Instead you are greeted by this beautiful milky coconut smell. It
just smells so good. No wonder Cleopatra bathed in milk if this is what it smelled like. It is wonderful. I tend to take my showers in the evening so it really suits me as it is very much a gentle soothing scent rather than an invigorating wake-me-up one. The crème itself is very creamy. Its appearance is white and quite thick. One problem I find with the crème is that you do need to use quite a lot of it to get the desired effect. I tried using a small blob of the shower gel on my wash mitt and it lathered up very weakly. The next time I used the gel I used a lot more and really worked the crème up. I did get a lovely thick lather which was more creamy than bubbly. When massaged in you could really feel the difference. Even after rinsing I could feel this lovely silky layer of moisture on my skin. The good thing about this crème is that the scent lingers on long after your shower. It is still that gorgeous very natural, gentle but delicious smelling scent. Duskman has commented on it saying I smell like coconut and vanilla chocolate. That sounds a nice combination to me. I do not really believe shower crèmes totally transform your skin condition. Palmolive Naturals Honey and Milk shower crème is gentle enough not to dry out my skin or cause any other adverse reactions. In the short term Duskman and I find that my skin is a lot softer but I am not sure if there are any noticeable long term effects. Palmolive Naturals Milk and Honey shower crème is certainly manna to my skin. It moisturises, is gentle and has a scent which is to die for. I recommend it as I have bought it on a number of occasions and love it. The only two problems with it are the lack of hook on the bottle and the need to use slightly more of it than other shower gels. This shower crème is certainly a gift form the gods.
