“ Brand: Pretty Fresh / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Refreshes, „
Today I am going to review the Pretty fresh shower gel. I have the ,,Sumptuous Strawberry" variety.
My mother bought this for me when she was in England went to a Poundshop. I live in Germany but love, love, love British beauty products. While they sometimes offer pretty tacky products at the Poundshops, they often have very interesting brands that went out of sale in druh stores or even products I've never seen anywhere else before.
Since it was only a pound and my mum knows that I really like strawberry-scented beauty products, she got it for me!
The bottle of the "Sumptous Strawberry" shower gel has a quite unusual shape. It's slightly hourglass-shaped and white. Through the bottle you can just about make out the red shower gel.
On the right side of the bottle is somewhat nubby so the bottle doesn't slip from your hand under the shower when it gets wet. The left side of the bottle is shaped in a way that makes it fit into your hand perfectly. The bottle contains 300ml.
The label on the front side of the bottle has strawberries on it. They are photographed in close-up and look really delicious! There's another pictures of strawberries next to the word "body". At the lowest part of the label the product name is given.
On the back of the bottle there is yet another strawberry picture and you get more information on the product. The strawberry aroma is supposed to awaken your senses and the shower gel should revive and soothe the skin. It is recommended to user the shower gel with a cloth, sponge or loofah to achieve the best kind of foam while using it. The ingredients and manufacturer's address are listed as welll!
The shower gel is clear (as opposed to creamy!) and of a red colour. It's quite runny but easy to spread. You get a lot of foam, but I found it to be a bit too liquid - it tended to run through my hands before I could put the bottle down!
The scent is nice and intensive. The shower gel smells of really sweet strawberries and didn't smell too artificial.
My skin didn't react in a negative way, but I didn't feel it benefitting a great deal either. I felt clean and refreshed after using the product, but it didn't moisturise that much. I didn't expect it to provide extra care since nothing like that was claimed on the bottle's labels, but I was still a bit disappointed.
The bottle lasted me alright, but it would have lasted even longer if the shower gel wasn't so runny! I often found myself accidentaly pouring more into my hand than I wanted, and then it often slipped through my hands.
My skin coped with it just fine. Allergics and very sensitive people should of course read the list of ingredients before buying.
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide Dea, Glycerin, Parfum, Citric Acid, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 16255.
My mother bought this for me at a poundshop and, obviously, paid a pound for the bottle. Not a great loss, but Boots offers shower gels which are cheaper and better at the same time.
While this shower gel wasn't too bad, it defenitely didn't make it into the lit of my favourites. It smelt really nice, but it didn't provide much skin care and was too runny. I enjoyed using it because of the second and how it made me feel really clean, but it just wasn't anything special.
If you get it is a present, go ahead and enjoy it - but looking out for it is just not worth it.
