There's nothing better to relax you at the end of a hard day with the kids or a long day at work then a nice soak in the bath, surrounded by fluffy bubbles, away from all the cares of the world. One of the many products I have tried to aid in my bath time bliss is Radox Restore Me bubble bath. Part of the much wider Radox range Restore Me bubble bath contains Ylang Ylang and Bergamot which are said to calm your mind and lift your emotions, coming in 500ml bottles this lavender coloured bubble bath is designed to give you an indulgent bathing experience.

The bubble bath comes in a rather uninspiring clear bottle with a less than secure silver coloured screw top lid, you'll need to keep this one on a high shelf if you want to avoid your children getting it open. It is quite thick in consistency and you get best results when applying it to the stream of hot tap water rather than in a gloopy pool at the bottom of the bath, you get a more immediate effect with bubbles forming as it hits the water rather than having to stir the water into a frenzy in order to get bubbles. The scent of the bubble bath is a little unfortunate, I don't know whether it simply doesn't appeal to me but it reminds me of cheap, budget bubble baths mixed with a hint of herbs, it's a little less unpleasant when it's mixed with the water and becomes slightly less "29p" in smell and a little more floral, although there is a slight muskiness that you just can't get rid of.

Naturally having the bath is quite relaxing, probably not, however, a result of the "aromatics" of this bubble bath as it's designed as more of a pick me up then a relaxant, I certainly never feel restored and while my mind may be calmed as a result of an hour away from the chaos of family life I can't say I feel my emotions are lifted as a result of using the bubble bath. I do notice that my skin feels nice and soft after using the bubble bath, not in a moisturised way but in a clean, fresh, smooth sort of way, this lasts a short while but of course once you've thrown your clothes back on you lose any sense of the softness.

The actual bubbles themselves don't last as long as I'd like and start to lose their lustre after about ½ an hour, this allows for a quick soak in the tub but not for the "indulgent bathing experience" the product promises, even using additional bubble bath doesn't increase the life of them, yes you get more bubbles but they last the same amount of time.

Overall I probably wont be rushing out to buy this product again, I don't feel it delivers on it's promises and while it may only be £2.49 for the 500ml bottle I feel you can spend that money far more wisely on a different bath product, other people may find the smell more appealing and may actually experience some benefits from the Ylang Ylang and Bergemot but it didn't work for me.
