      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A really lovely theraputic showering gel.

I have just run out of my own shower gel so pinched what hubby is using at the moment to use in my shower this morning. This limited edition (African Escape) shower therapy gel from Radox came up trumps, despite me assuming it is a male orientated gel. This is not the case however.

The vibrant yellow shower gel is in the usual shaped Radox plastic, recylcable bottle (although remember to remove the cap first) and is quite eye catching against the black lid and hook. You can hang this up and the flip top lid at the base enables just the right amount of gel to be distributed.

The label has a picture of the African planes with an image of, as they call it, the 'iconic' Baobab tree on it and just looking at it conjures up the desire to book a safari this summer (if only)!

This gel is predominantly blended using Baobab fruit. I had no idea what this was although I recognised the tree - (see the end of my review if you are interested in reading information about the tree from which this fruit comes. Info taken directly from Greenlife.co.uk and it makes interesting reading).

Anyway back to the product. The Baobab fruit has been blended by Radox with a few drops of Mandarin oil which makes it quite an exotic mix. The Baobab is reknowned for its moisturising qualities and its restorative effect on the mind. Mandarin oil helps to cleanse the skin and this gel is PH balanced so should not dry out your skin at all.

      My opinion:

This gel has got the most beautiful smell. It is hard to describe as I do not know what Baobab is meant to smell like but it has a slightly sweet, but fresh smelling scent, having almost a baby talc undertone but it does indeed uplift your spirits. Not only did I shower with it this morning, I am currently sniffing it whilst writing to try to pinpoint the smell but I can't do much better than to say it is gorgeous but not overly feminine or masculine so can be treated as a unisex product.

A small amount of yellow liquid (neither to thick nor too runny which remains bright yellow on your hands until you rub it in) lathers up really well and a little does go a long way.

I felt really clean afterwards and definitely more relaxed yet awake and my skin still feels smooth several hours later with a very faint scent still clinging to it. I don't know if I am imagining it, but I was feeling quite crappy this morning but after my shower I felt a lot better!

This is a limited addition, so be quick if you want to try it out! We bought our 250ml bottle from Tescos for £1.70 and they are currently doing a buy one get one free offer at the moment!

      Highly recommended.

Additional info as promised from Greenlife.co.uk:

'The African Baobab (Adansonia digitata), is a native deciduous tree from the African savannahs. Found in 31 African countries where the climate is dry, hot and uninhabitable for most plants and people, the baobab stands to become one of the largest living things in the world (Pakenham, 2004), symbolizing the African Savannah more than any other plant. The Baobab is widely spread over the African savanna through natural re-production and harvesting the fruit does not affect the species and the Baobab has the ability to withstand the stripping of its bark. It is not injured and new bark is formed like that of the Cork oak tree (Pakenham, 2004). The bark is used for ropes, harnesses, nets, fishing lines, baskets, roof tiles and cloths. The fruit pulp, leaves, bark and root tubers have all been studied by scientists for their useful properties. It is clear that the baobab tree has out lived us all, its history and uses still leaves us in awe. The underlying and most important part on the next chapter in history of the Baobab will be the millions of Africans less privileged then us in the western world who will benefit from the harvesting of its fruits. It is truly the Magical Baobab.'

      Thanks for reading. x

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

will defi have to buy some more!! love it!!

Found this product in wilkinsons priced at just £1!! and thought seemed as it is a limited edition african escape shower therapy and claims to revive your senses with african baobab and mandarin oil i would give it a go!

        *Packaging*
A clear plastic modern curvy bottle with a flip up holder so it can be attached to the shower/shelf or it can be flipped back.
The opening is also black and has a flip and tight lid when the lid is opened it has a leak proof hole so you have to squeeze to get the shower gel out! This can also be recycled!!

Revive your senses with this exotic limited edition blend, containing nourishing fruit from iconic African baobab, which is known to help moisturise the body and restore the mind.
Its blended with Mandarin oil which is a great skin cleanser.
It claims to have the perfect PH balance and has had the thumbs up from skin experts.

I love this product the gel isnt runny at all its just the right texture and it lathers pretty quick in my wash mits,a 50p size amount would coat your hole body in a white lather.
The smell is a unisex smell not to strong its sort of warm smelling in fact the only way i can explain the smell is its very similar to ambi pur plug in vanilla Lilly lol!!

This shower gel leaves your skin feeling very soft ,clean and refreshed and smelling exotic and warm and helps you to unwinde after a very hectic day! The smell seems to remain on the skin for some time which i dont usually find with other products its a brilliant bargain product!

The only downfall it has is when the there is about 4 more applications remaining its really hard to squeeze out and the lid wont budge so you can get it out that way so you feel asthough you need and extra pair of hands or a pair of scissors-which i have been known to do!
Some people may not have the time to be messing about with this and to me they should think about making it easier otherwise half the product is going to be thrown away!
The gel is a golden yellow colour BUT shower users do be aware if you have a white shower curtain it stains!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Gorgeous!

When it comes to Radox bath and body products it's really a brand I can take or leave however when I sniffed a bottle of this African Escape Shower Gel in my local Morrisons store and noted the pound price label on it I simply couldn't resist buying one to try out whilst it was on offer as the usual price is about £1.55 a bottle (at the moment any two bottles of Radox shower gel are two for the price of one as well in Boots!).

        The Packaging:

250ml see through plastic bottle with a black flip top opening to the bottom of it concealing a small hole and a black hanger which integrates into the top of the bottle and you simply pull it up to use it as a said hanger of course! On the front if the bottle I'm told it is Radox 'Limited Edition' African Escape 'Revive Your Senses With African Baobab & Mandarin Oil Shower Gel' and I'm told it is blended with natural herbs and the company has been in effect since 1908 and there is a small picture on there of water and trees etc. On the back of the bottle other information given includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed, the size is stated and contact details for Sara Lee are given. It's a nice bottle and I do like the fact I can see the shower gel through the bottle and I do like the hanging feature to the top of it as well.

A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:

Revive you senses with our exotic Limited Edition blend, Containing nourishing fruit from the iconic African Baobab, which is known to help moisturise the body and restore the mind. We've blended it with Mandarin Oil which is a great skin cleanser. Revitalise yourself and escape to an African paradise.

        What's Gone Into It?

        100 years of Radox know-how
Just the right amount of Baobab fruit
A few drops of Mandarin oil
        A perfect pH balance
A thumbs-up from the skin experts

        Using It:

Well this is actually a really superb shower gel actually! All you need is a little of the runny sunset yellow gel on a sponge, flannel or whatever you wish to wash with of course and then rub it over a damp or wet body. You really don't need very much at all cos a little bit goes a very long way indeed.

It gently moisturises and hydrates and foams up very quickly indeed and the smell of this is absolutely beautiful which is why I haven't only used one bottle of this in a month but a couple as I've repurchased it and shall do time and time again in the future.

The smell is sweet, slightly fruity but really slightly musky with a slight hint in the background of vanilla. It's sweet but in a natural way and not only does it smell wonderful in use but it really lingers on the skin really well over a good few hours too helping you feel cleaner for longer. It's great to shave with it, if you wish too and it really does soften the skin beautifully without leaving it greasy or anything else.

        Verdict:

I love it and so does my family who keep pinching it off me! It's suitable for men, women and children alike to use if they want to and I find it really does leave my skin in lovely condition and what's more other people love the smell of me after using this too! Top marks from me Radox!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

I will buy more of this!

We went looking for shower gel in Asda a few weeks before Christmas and my other half got two masculine ones and I opted for both of the limited edition Africa versions, African Escape and African Sanctuary.
African Escape is a pale gold colour, similar to honey, as the bottle is see through it is easy to see how much has been used up. At the top of the bottle is a hook, which can be extended so you can hang it in the shower of you wish. I find this a very handy aspect of the packaging.
At the bottom of the bottle is a flip top cap, easy to use without breaking a nail and even with wet hands. As the cap is at the bottom it also means you can finish the entire product!
African Escape contains African Baobab and Mandarin Oil. Baobab is a fruit, apparently.
The shower gel itself is thick enough to stay on your hand but not too thick that it feels lumpy or is hard to use.
A little goes a long way especially if used on a bath lily or on bath gloves. It lathers well and makes me feel clean without making me feel dry.
The scent is gorgeous! It is revitalising and exotic without being hugely over powering. It makes the bathroom smell lovely and the scent lingers lightly on my skin once I am dry. This is not a feminine scent, I would say it was more masculine but not enough so to put women off, I am certainly a fan!
At the normal price of £1 or with the great offer of four for £3 they are an absolute bargain!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

One I will use again but when I went to smell of cold tea

Ok, ok I know I am not supposed to use shower gel but please don't judge me. I am just human and naturally as woman want to smell nice. Anyway I don't actually have an appointment with the specialist for another 12 months now because he couldn't do the normal 6 monthly.

So I thought I would sneak some more shower gel into my weekly shop for myself as the Specialist firstly advised me when I first went to see him that the soap traces only take about 6 months to come off the skin. So I figure if I use it for the next four months and then stop, by the time I go to see him again I will be soap free. If I have problematic skin it will be my own fault. Plus I will only use it once a week (well in theory anyway).

So off to Morrisons I went to find a really nice one. I have used Radox before so when I saw it was on offer for 60p a bottle I headed straight for their products. Ohhh so much choice though, I settled in the end for their limited edition range and bought a few of the shower therapy range.

Radox shower gel comes in a 250ml squeezy bottle with the cap on the bottom to ensure you can get every last bit out. The shape is smallish at the bottom going slightly wider in the middle and again smaller at the top. It has a handle on the top also which you can use to hang it up in the shower but you can also push it back down for when you want to put it on the shelf.

The first one I have tried from the limited edition range is the African Sanctuary. This one is a sort of strong tea colour in the bottle and is frangranced with African Rooibos and Red Thyme. Reading the back of the back of the bottle Radox advise they use Mahogany red Rooibos plant has been used in africa for centuries for it's soothing and calming benefit and blended in Red Thyme to help you unwind.

As soon as I opened the bottle I could smell a slight scent of Red Thyme but it was only when I started to massage it on to my skin could I smell the scent completely. The only way I can describe the smell is Tea. It smells like cold tea (without milk and sugar though). But as cold Tea is supposed to be good for your skin I wasn't too bothered by the smell.

The lather on the Gel is really good. I generally use exfoliating gloves in the bath to put on Shower Gel and after using this particular shower gel I had enough bubbles and lather not to put bubble bath in aswell.

As for the softness of my skin. It was lovely, my skin was so soft and smooth that I will certainly be sneakily using this one again.
