“ Brand: Avon / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I got this For christmas as part of a set with the Perfume "In Bloom" by reese witherspoon. I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. It was developed with the help of Jean Paul Gaultier exclusively for avon and I am absolutely in love with it. It is a light, sensual Floral fragrance with Star Gardenia, Magnolia Blossoms, Night blooming Jasmine and peach tea. Its great for those of us who don't want something overpoweringly floral and old fashioned, it is a young, modern take on white flower fragrances and wearable day or night and I could not put it into an age category-teenagers to ladies collecting their pension would enjoy wearing ths subtle fragrance. You can use the shower gel on its own or to layer your fragrance withe the matching body lotion and perfume. The shower gel itself smells wonderful but is not very moisturising due to the alccohol content of heavily scented shower gels but does lather well. I would definately recommend this to be used alongside the other in bloom products for maximum effect.
As usual I got an Avon perfume for Christmas from my mam, which this year was 'In Bloom' by actress Reese Witherspoon. I find Avon fragrances can be a bit hit and miss, but I really fell in love with this one, and started using the matching shower gel which I received at the same time more or less straight away.
The shower gel comes in a pale orange/peach coloured tube with a white flower and 'RW' logo in metallic silver. For an Avon product the packaging actually looks very nice, and no doubt it would be easy to mistake this for a much more expensive brand.
As I'm sure you can guess from the name 'In Bloom' the shower gel has a very floral scent. When I think floral I tend to think old fashioned, but this is not the case here. It seems to have a slightly citrus edge and although this may sound strange I actually find it a very pleasant scent overall. The Avon website describes this as 'a luscious bouquet of gardenia, magnolia and jasmine.'
One problem I've found in the past, is that sometimes when shower gels or body lotions are made to match a perfume, the scents end up being similar to, but not exactly the same as the perfume. In this case I would say the fragrance is pretty much identical to that of the perfume, however it's a little less intense.
The actual shower gel itself has a pearlescent sheen that almost makes it look a silvery colour. It certainly looks very luxurious, and as you massage it over the skin it has a creamy, silky quality to it which feels lovely.
I find the shower gel lathers well on it's own, and you don't need to use loads and loads per use. The scent when you lather it up is very noticeable yet not so intense that it's overpowering.
After using this, my skin is left clean and I would say slightly softer than before, although perhaps not as much as I had hoped. The scent is gentle but still lingers, making this shower gel ideal to layer with the matching perfume.
The usual cost for a 150ml tube of this product is £5, although Avon nearly always have special offers on their products, so you should be able to get it much cheaper.
Overall I was very impressed with this. It's a lovely shower gel, and gives a much more luxurious experience than you would get from the majority of Avon products. If you like floral scents and are looking for a shower gel that is just a little bit special, In Bloom could be it.
