Right Guard products are good ones to buy and when I spotted this shower gel on offer I decided to buy it to save me some money. I hadn't tried this one before and since it was on offer for a price not to be missed I popped it into my trolley.
It comes housed in a plastic bottle which has a flip top. The gel is a smooth texture and a thick gel so it doesn't drip from the bottle. It has a menthol smell and is very uplifting and quite a strong smell and fresh. It is very invigorating and has quite a cooling effect on the skin.
It lathers really well indeed and the smell doesn't fail to remain when having a shower. It also is a gel to wash the hair and body. I have a full head of hair which is fairly thick and I don't need to use a lot of the gel to wash it well. Using this gel means it saves me time in the shower because I can wash my body at the same time as washing my hair so I can jump into the shower both morning and night time and then get on with my day or the rest of my night at home.
The smell is masculine and some of my grandson's have been using some of my gel when they jump in the shower at my home and they have told me they like it a lot. So is suitable for younger boys and not just for adult men.
It is a good one for taking to the gym with me and saves me having to carry a shower gel and shampoo in my gym bag. Saves time messing about finding bottles in my bag too.
It is easy to rinse from my body and it doesn't dry the skin or make it feel rough. The gel feels soft while showering and is a very good one indeed when I have been at the gym and are really sweaty from doing my work out. The gel tends to cool my body instantly and refreshes it while I am showering.
I love this shower gel and it really is a good value price of just the £1 I paid for it on offer. The bottle size is 250ml so a good sized bottle which is going to last me a while because you don't need a lot of it to wash the body.
It cleans well indeed and I come home from work sometimes really dirty and my hair can be quite dusty too and this gel just cleans my body and hair well without it leaving my hair or body rough. My hair feels actually really soft indeed and it is a formula which doubles up for washing both the hair and body at the same time.
I will buy it again and it is going to be a favourite one to buy even when not on offer because I like it a lot.
I rate it 5 stars.
Right Guard have developed a habit of giving their products ridiculously long names. I really like "Right Guard Xtreme Cool Maximum Strength 72 Hour Anti Perspirant with Air Conditioning Effect" and "Right Guard Xtreme Cool Maximum Strength 72 Hour Roll On Deodorant with Air Conditioning Effect" so when I saw this product - "Ice Cool Freshness Right Guard Cooling Shower Gel Xtreme Cool with Air-Conditioning Effect in the Shower - for Body and Hair" - for just a quid in my local Poundland I had to give it a go.
It comes in a clear plastic bottle though you wouldn't know it because the liquid inside is so very dark and very blue that it looks as if the plastic itself is blue. There's a large label on the front (as you'd expect to fit all of those words on) and the bottle is slightly rounded like a six-inch long fish standing on a flattened end. The flip top lid is very sturdy and I've experienced no leakages even on the (several) times when I've managed to knock it clean out and onto the bathroom floor. It's a 250 ml bottle and the liquid inside is quite thick so it should last quite a few washes. It comes out into your hand or sponge looking like an electric blue length of toothpaste. It's not quite as thick of toothpaste and it soon begins to run but just for a moment that's what it reminds me off.
Now as I said earlier I think that the two other products in this range (the ones with the really long names) were great, really effective and very intense, so I was expecting a lot from this shower gel. Sadly, my disappointment started as soon as I flipped the top and took a deep breath. I was expecting the same smell as the rest of the range - a mix of menthol and eucalyptus aroma with a touch of mint - but I could smell... well, next to nothing really. It claims to have "an ice-fresh fragrance". Perhaps I have a defective batch. There was a hint of clean soap but that didn't linger, and that was all. When I applied it to my skin and lathered up the smell didn't grow and afterwards I smelled of nothing so much as just clean. That's not a bad thing but I expected more.
Shower gels should lather up. Not hugely, maybe, but I should be able to scrub up a white lather while washing. This didn't. I just got a very thin layer of bubbles. It seemed to clean me thoroughly enough, I've no complaints on that score but it didn't feel special or extra-strong in the way that the other Right Guard Xtreme Cool products do.
And then there's the 'Air Conditioning Effect in the Shower'. Now it seemed pretentious on the deodorant and anti-perspirant but at least I got what they meant. They cooled me down instantly. This simply doesn't. It's a shower gel that cleans you. There's no discernible cooling at all. Perhaps I should have opened the bathroom window.
So all in all I'd say I was very disappointed with this shower gel. Not only is it nothing to write home about as a shower gel, it's also a poor let down to its team-mates. I paid a pound for it and am left wondering if I was overcharged.
