“ Brand: Rituals / Creme / Type: Shower Foam „
We have been using Rituals shower gels on and off for some time. The whole family uses it and we all agree on how good it is.
There are many exotic variations to choose from and no matter which one you choose the fragrance seems to stay with you long after leaving the shower.
It comes in a gel form but the real secret about using Ritual shower gels is that you only need a small amount when in the shower. If you spray a small amount on your hands you will be surprised how far it will go when you start washing yourself with it. I suppose it does depend on how big the body is that is being washed!! The unique aromas of the different variations certainly wake you up in the mornings.
When you go to purchase it you will find that it seems very expensive. We have paid up to £7.00 for a can of this shower gel but as you use less while in the shower it does last a lot longer than a lot of the other shower gels. It is also what I would call a premier shower gel brand. My advice if you are about to try it for the first time is to look around and see if you can see it discounted. I have no hesitation in recommending it but I can understand someone being hesitant paying a lot of money for something they haven't tried before.
We have tried other variations of this shower gel. We have tried Happy Buddha and Blue Dragon as well as Fujiyama. Everyone has a unique odour to it as well as leaving you feel clean and fresh.
I recently visited a Ritual shop for the first time and was more than pleased with all the products I purchased. Upon entering the store, I was given a free sample (50ml) of Fujiyama Shower Foam and after using this for a week, returned to purchase the full size bottle.
A full size bottle is 200ml and retails at £6.90. Although expensive for a shower foam, this will easily last more than a month, as very little is needed. As soon as the liquid is rubbed between your hands or on a loofah, the foaming element is activated and one small squirt will cover a very large area of the body.
The smell of this shower foam is clean and refreshing minty, yet eucalyptus type smell and only hints of it will remain on the skin after getting out of the shower. Perfect for anyone who uses perfume or body spray and doesn't want an over powering shower gel smell as well.
My skin is normally quite dry, although it can easily become oily if I use soaps meant for dry skin. With Fujiyama Shower Foam however, I found that my skin is lightly moisturised during my wash and will stay that way all day long, not moisturised, but not as dry as it normally can get.
I received a full sized can of the 'Rituals Fujiyama mandarin and mint foaming shower gel sensation' in my December Glossybox. Although I am always happy to receive a full sized product, I wasn't particularly excited about this one. The packaging did not appeal to me as I felt that it looked quite masculine and I wasn't particularly taken with the sound of mandarin and mint either.
The product comes in a red aerosol can similar to a shaving foam, with a silvery grey button on the top from which the product is dispensed.
Rituals are a Dutch brand and they make a range of bath and body products as well as make-up and some home fragrancing products, such as reed diffusers. Before receiving this product I knew the name Rituals, but that was about it, so I wasn't really sure what to expect from the product.
I left this in the bathroom and my fiancé actually tried it out before I did. He got out of the shower and was raving about the 'amazing' new shower gel and he made it sound so great I couldn't wait to try it out myself.
When dispensed from the tin, this actually comes out as a clear gel. You only really need a small amount of the gel, as it foams up loads, a lot like a shaving foam would. Smell is a very important to me in a shower product and I have to say, I do not share my fiancés enthusiasm for the scent of this product. He described it to me as smelling like a freshly peeled orange. I personally think there's something wrong with his nose! Whilst the product does have an orangey scent, the mint can be smelled in equal measure and the combination is frankly odd and quite unnatural. The addition of the mint ruins the fragrance for me and I'd prefer it if it was just plain mandarin.
On a more positive note, as a product this is lovely to use. It feels absolutely amazing on the skin and in that respect does feel like a luxury product. The foam feels very light on the skin and has a sort of silky feeling to it. It's just so light and fluffy and feels incredible - it's definitely the best thing about the product.
After using this, my skin feels soft and clean and I don't find the product to be drying on my skin at all. I don't particularly feel any benefits to my skin such as softness - it does not feel bad, just not any noticeable improvement. Despite the scent being quite strong it doesn't linger on the skin.
A 200ml can of this shower foam costs £6.50 and can be bought from Amazon. I have never seen it in the shops, but I have seen some of the other fragrances available in John Lewis.
Overall, whilst I would not recommend this in terms of scent, it does feel lovely on the skin and is a pleasure to use. For that reason, whilst I wouldn't buy the product in this fragrance I would be happy to try other scents from the same range.
