“ Brand: Sainsbury's / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body „
Being on a budget this month i decided its time to buy shops own brand products. So i decided to try sainsbury's blueberry burst shower gel. Priced at only £1.02 for a 250ml bottle. Working out at only 41p per 100ml! Being only half the price of the normal shower gel i buy. I thought this must be the way to go to help me save money. First time i used it as soon as i opened the bottle i could smell the sent of blueberrys fill the bathroom. As it foamed up and i rub it into my skin and WOW! my skin felt fantastic. After rinsing the shower gel off my skin felt so soft and smooth. It felt great. I couldnt believe that i had spent so much money on shower gel perviously. When something that was so cheap was just as good.
There are many more scented shower gels avaliable from the same range. Other scents avalible include, Coconut, lemon sorbet, mint blast and pomegranate cursh.
This will be a regular item in my trolley now. And the money i saved well i can treat myself to a chocy bar now.
It just goes to show you dont need to spend a fortune to pamper yourself.
I absolutely hate shopping. I would do all my shopping online if I could but until our new Tesco opens in February next year I am unable to have home delivery on my food. So until then I still have to brave the crowds in the shops.
Yesturday I went shopping to sort out my Christmas food with my friends Lynne and Caroline so we went to the biggest Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys within an hour of us. Mix the hate of shopping with two women that love it is just not the best especially when you went out the night before and sampled far to many Ciders.
As these ladies were strolling around Sainsburys (and I mean slowly strolling) I had already done my food shopping in Asda so I was getting more than a little annoyed with being pushed and shoved by people. So I just stood in the Toileteries aisle to sample some lovely aromas, plus I knew I would need a long hot bath that night because I was so cold and fed up.
As I was smelling the gels I came across the Sainsburys Blueberry Burst shower wash. It is from the sainsburys own range and comes in a clear squeezy triangular shapped bottle and you can see the lovely lilac gel on the inside. At the bottom of the bottle is a black cap with the flip lid to get the gel out.
On the front of the bottle from bottom to top is the word Shower written in Lilac with Sainsburys written on the 'R' and Blueberry buirst written across the middle in a black strip. It is a very basic front but it caught my eye when I was scanning the shelf. The back of the bottle has the usual Directions, Ingredients, warnings and contact details on.
The back does also advise that Sainsburys are against animal testing which is good to know because I always try to ensure we use stuff that is not tested on poor animals. Sainsburys advise also that the gel is to 'awaken your senses and step into the shower with this juicy blueberry shower gel. With blueberry extract and an irrsistable fruity aroma to energise and rejuvenate your body ready for the day'.
I know I was using this at night but I could wait. As a hypermobilty sufferer I have a lot of back pain and basically pain in my joints so this was going to certainly help them. As we had been out the night before then out in the cold all day I knew I was going to be in a lot of pain and I was so right. This morning I have very poorly legs and my lower back is really bad.
As soon as I opened the bottle as I was stood in Sainsburys I could smell the lovely blueberies. To me it smells exactly like blueberry Vodka. This is not unusual to me that it smells like Alcohol, I have another Imperial Leather Shower gel that I think looks like Eggnog and smells like Reef! I think it is because I hadn't been out for ages and I had Alcohol on the brain.
Getting into the bath last night though I couldn't wait to try it out. Squeezing the shower gel out was really easy due to the bottle design which also made it easier to get the correct amount out. Smoothing the gel onto my body enhanced the beautiful smell and the lather that was made was amazing. It even left the bath water cover in bubbles so I didn't need to use any bubble bath.
Even as I was drying myself the smell was lovely, I can still smell it this morning even after a full nights sleep. And as for my skin, it is so smooth and nice which after the dryness of the last few weeks was great. I can't wait to warm my joints in the bath with this one again tonight.
I paid £1.00 for this 250ml bottle and I am so glad that I did.
Sainsbury's Blueberry Burst Shower Gel -A refreshing burst
I am very fond of trying out new brands of personal hygienic products and with this quest I picked up Sainsbury's Blueberry Burst Shower Gel last month from my nearest store.
The branding effort of Sainsbury's is pretty visible as the letter shower gel is pretty obvious and the packaging also provides a visible impact of the gel.
The tube is very user friendly and you can squeeze the exact amount of gel as required by you. The gel itself is consistent enough and the blueberry ingredient has a magnificent scent however do not expect this to last like a day long fragrance. I do not find lathering up like esteemed brands but it does solve the purpose it has set out for.
I normally find a soothing and soft feeling on my skin after each usage and highly surprised with the performance of this store's own brand product.
I think I will buy it again as with only 99p price tag it is value for money.
This is a Sainsburys own brand shower gel. Although it is not in their basics range it comes at a budget price of 99p for 250ml.
The bottle itself is well designed with a tube effect. The lid is also the base which it stands on, this flips up and you squeeze the bottle to get the shower gel out. This works very well in the bath but with there being no hook the bottle would get very wet in the shower. The product does come out the bottle in a smooth manner and it is very easy to get the right amount of the shower gel. The labeling is basic but does not look cheap and tacky, I don't mind people seeing it at the end of my bath.
The shower gel is very smooth and is quite thick so doesn't run through your fingers as you use it. You have to work quite hard to get a lather up but you can get quite a lot from a small amount of product.
The scent is subtle and is not too overpowering on your skin. That said it does smell georgeous. The blueberry scent has a very sweet undertone which really comes out as you use it but dies away quickly meaning it will not interfere with any aftershave/perfume you may wear. I find the balance perfect.
This shower gel bursts out of the budget range and is far better than some premium products I have purchased.
In an effort to stop my teenage daughter using my nice shower products, I always buy a supermarket own fruity gel to appease her slightly. The trouble is I always end up using them myself as well.
My favourite at the moment is the Sainsbury's own blueberry burst shower gel. It comes in the great budget scale of 99p for 250ml, which is a bargain in my weekly trolley.
I like the way this shower gel is packaged differently to other supermarket own brands. Instead of being packaged in a bottle with a hook for hanging in the shower, this one is designed in a more sleek way in an almost triangular tube. The lid is bottom down with a flip lid, and the tube is a flexible material to enable ease of application from the tube. As it's see through you can see the colour of the product you are about to apply.
I remember choosing the blueberry burst for the colour of the product. A nice deep blue that borders almost on being purple but not quite. It appears to have a nice sheen to it through the packaging and looks like its worth much more than the small price you pay for it.
Opening the tube I was expecting a huge waft of blueberry to hit me, but it's slightly more on the subtle side until you put your nose into the product a bit more. When the smell does get you it's a nice sweet blueberry smell that does represent the actual fruit quite well, albeit with an overload of sweetness to it.
The gel itself comes out of the tube well, but in quite a gloopy manner. I found very quickly that I didn't need a lot to get a decent lather up on my body, but what I did find straight away was that the shower gel was acting like a jelly substance on my skin until I massaged it in quite well. This put me off the first time I used it but I soon found it was nothing to be concerned about.
For 99p I wasn't expecting miracles on how it made my skin feel after use, but I can report that it does make my skin feel averagely soft, in fact a lot better than some of the other more expensive products I have used lately which was a nice surprise. I can smell the blueberry faintly a couple of hours after use but it doesn't stand out as a product alone on my skin, so wouldn't act as a nice fragrance through the day unfortunately.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the results this gel gives me. I have found that the tube will last just over a week with constant use by a teenager as well as occasionally use by me. I think this could be eeked out to last longer but I'm sure my daughter wastes a lot in the shower.
I will definitely be looking out for the other fragrances in the range when I need to buy some more.
