Advantages: Floral fragrance, value for money, longevity of contents

Disadvantages: None in my experience

Although we do have a shower at home, we tend to use our bath a lot particularly at this time of year when the nights are drawing in and the weather is getting colder. Although admittedly we would prefer to use a branded bath soak every day, in reality that can be quite expensive. Therefore we approached our Sainsburys store with trepidation to find an alternative. Sainsburys own products are, in my opinion very good and so when we saw a bottle of this Lilac Bath Soak we chucked a bottle into our trolley eager to try it out when we got home.

This bath soak is very simply packaged in an opaque white plastic bottle which is simply decorated with a group of purple coloured bubbles and the text 'Sainsburys Bath Crème'. In keeping with the simplistic design, the bottle has a screw top lid which is white to match the bottle and is easy to screw open, even with wet hands. Unlike many other bath soaks this one stores a whole 1 litres worth of contents and this makes the bottle quite tall and yet sturdy enough not to fall from the edge of our bath.

Inside, the bath soak is a light purple colour and it was this that drew me to this product initially as it matched our bathroom colour scheme. The liquid is a nice medium consistency and pours easily out of the lid of the bottle. Once the product enters the running water it is advised that it is swished around and from experience it does have a tendency to sit in a pool at the bottom of the water therefore a good swish really livens up the bath water. The smell of this bath soak is lovely, think a floral smell with a hint of lilac and you are there. It really does leave a soft scent in our bathroom and the scattering of bubbles it creates make the bath look very inviting.

Once poured into the bath I find that it creates a lovely amount of bubbles which do not simply fizzle out at the sight of my soapy shower gel. By the end of bath time the water does still have traces of bubbles and therefore I believe that the longevity of this product is good. The soak leaves my skin feeling soft and lightly fragranced well into the evening.

As the name would suggest, this bath soak can be bought from Sainsburys stores and it is currently retailing for 76p. When you consider that my bottle has lasted for a good couple of months with near everyday use, this makes it excellent value for money in my opinion. This bath soak is cruelty free and is PH balanced and paraben free thus making it great for the entire family.

I would highly recommend this product and am therefore scoring it 5 stars.

Thanks for reading! x
