The Sanctuary Spa Mandelular Sensuous Foaming Shower Gel
I received this product as part of a gift set at Christmas and I have only just got round to using it as I have so many shower gels. I have tried most bath/body products from the Sanctuary Spa ranges apart from this one and it sounds really nice, but looks can be deceiving.
- Product description (from the Boots website)
"Sanctuary Mande Lular Foaming Shower Burst is a sensuous instant creamy shower treat with moisturising Shea butter, and softening jojoba to cleanse and soften your skin." The full list of ingredients is available on the Boots website also.
- About the product
This product comes in a 200ml pump dispenser container which is white with text in the colours orange and black. The sanctuary spa is against animal testing and this product is paraben free which is great. This shower foam claims to: cleanse and soften the skin and to moisturise the skin as well.
- Using the product and results
The first thing I noticed about this product is the texture and consistency of the shower foam - it is not a foam. I really do not understand how they can print 'foaming' on the bottle of this product as it is not foaming at all. The only other foaming shower gel I have used is the Imperial Leather ones and I expected this one to be similar but it is nothing like them. This shower gel is more like an actual gel in a metal bottle which does not foam up when you dispense it. This product packaging is not great; when you want to dispense the product you will have a fairly long wait. The shower gel takes ages to dispense from the bottle so I end up wasting a few minutes for the shower gel to dispense from the bottle. When dispensed onto a shower scrunchie/bath lily it does not foam up and then when water is added it also does not foam up. The lather created by this product is quite good and substantial although it is definitely not foamy! As with most sanctuary products they have a distinctive classic scent which you can recognise as a sanctuary product but this shower gel does not have this scent. This product just smells like plastic and aerosol products, which is not very pleasant. I feel like this product does cleanse my skin fairly well but overall this product is nowhere near the high standard of all of the other sanctuary spa products I have used. Overall, it has a nice creamy texture but it is not a foam shower gel and it doesn't smell very nice, in my opinion.
- Price and availability
This product can be bought from Boots online for £6.50 for a 200ml bottle and one bottle does last quite a long time but it is still a little bit expensive in my opinion, especially as this product just isn't very good.
*Creamy smooth texture
*Cleanse my skin fairly well and it has a fairly good lather
*Slightly expensive, in my opinion, although one bottle lasted me quite a while
*Scent - plastic and aerosol products
*It is not a foam shower gel!
*Packaging - it takes ages for the product to be dispensed before use
