“ Brand: Sanex/ Type: Shower Cream / Type: Shower Cream „
I suffer from quite sensitive skin, and found that sometimes sensitive shower gels don't really smell of much. But some heavily perfumed shower gels would irritate my skin. So I bought this on offer, after smelling it in the shop, to give it a try. The promise of Sanex is that it keeps skin healthy, so this appealed to me a lot.
I was really pleased with how this product smells. It's incredibly fresh, without being too overpowering. The scent is subtle, and doesn't smell particularly perfumed or fruity, it's just a fresh soapy kind of scent. I can only really compare it with other Sanex products, since this smells exactly the same as the Sanex roll on deodorant that I use.
This shower gel doesn't irritate my skin at all. It soaks into my skin well, and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. I even find that it helps with my Psoriasis, when it flares up in the summer. The shower gel is very soothing, and helps to calm down the itching and redness associated with Psoriasis. I'm incredibly pleased with this result, since not only does it help moisturise my skin, it helps with my skin conditions too. This product contains Lactoserum, which gives sensitive skin special care, and leaves it feeling smooth and soft.
This product also promises to protect your skin's natural protection barrier, moisturise your skin, and restore skin's natural balance. I can't comment on if it's restored my skin's natural balance, but it has moisturised my sensitive, and sometimes dry skin.
This shower gel comes in a large bottle, which is a real benefit to me. I love this stuff, so the bigger the bottle, the better for me! The bottle is actually 500ml, and has a simple yellow colour, with a blue lid, that matches the blue Sanex logo.
I can usually pick this up in Savers for around £1.50, which is incredibly reasonable, considering the size of the bottle and the quality of the product. The most I've paid for this shower gel is £3, but it can most often be picked up a lot cheaper than this from places like Superdrug and ASDA.
This has become my favourite shower gel. I'll always look for this first, and I only buy something else when I can't get this. It's great for even the most sensitive skin, I truly believe that is does live up it's 'Keeps skin healthy' promise, and at the small price tag, and large quantity of product, it's great value for money. Highly recommend this.
I seem to get quite alot of dry skin on my legs and feet so I have searched high and low for a bath product that will help soothe this problem. Most products I have tried in the past have failed to do what they actually state so I was hoping this would be somewhat different.
I have used this product quite a few times not because Im overly keen on it but because I find it is on offer at half price quite often at morrisons.
This is the 500ml bottle and it priced around £2.67 and at half price its quite a bargain for the amount that you get. This is a yellow bottle with blue and it says sanex at the top and dermo intensive, vitamin E also at the top. It is quite a tall and wide bottle and a bit difficult to grasp especially if you have small hands like me lol it does have a curved bit round the middle of the bottle so you can hold it but it isnt very comfortable. It has a blue flip up lid that is easy to open and close and you cant see through the bottle so you would have no idea of how much is left, not the most important feature but I generally like to see how much is left as its sometimes hard to judge just by feeling it.
It says that it is for dry skin and that it is a shower cream. It claims it keeps skin healthy.
In my honest opinion it isnt a very attractive bottle and generally if it wasnt on offer I wouldnt be attracted to pick it up at all.
On the back there is a label that says: this shower cream enriched with vitamin E has been specially formulated to help soften dry skin and leave it feeling moisturised and comfortable.
Sanex dermo shower cream has 3 benefits for healthy skin which are: protection, moisturisation, rebalance. It then tells you to avoid contact with eyes, lists the ingredients and tells you to go to www.sanex.com for more information.
Well I dont know about you but I think thats a really basic and vauge description of what it actually does and doesnt really convince you of anything. Although we all know what to dowith shower creams but I personally still like a little information on the back telling me so.
Ok so I always use a shower puff as I feel this is the best way to cleanse my body and get rid of any dirt without being to harsh. I open this bottle and there is a small hole where you squeeze the bottle to get the shower cream out, now this is ok but once you get near the end of the bottle its a bit of a struggle to get the last bits out. I end up leaving it on its lid so it all falls down to the bottom.
I only apply a small dollop of this onto my shower puff and it lathers up really well, It is quite runny and a whiteish colour with a tinge of yellow. I then notice the smell of this shower cream and im not really impressed, its quite hard to describe it but the smell reminds me of sudocream, not really what I want to go round smelling like so this does put me off the product a fair bit.
So I wash my body with this and pay particular attention to my dry skin areas and it does soap up quite well so just using a little bit is enough.
It did make my skin feel somewhat soft but nothing really to write home about, I didnt feel it had any extra ingredients in it to really benefit my skin at all and now that the smell of it was all over my body I founf it really horrible. Also when my hands were wet this was actually hard to hold in the bath and it got quite slippery and could quite easily of delved into the dephs of my bath to of never be seen again lol much to my dissapointment this didnt happen but do be aware the bottle does get very slippery.
Luckily for me after I had got out the bath say about 20 minutes later the smell had gone and I wasnt really left with any kind of result from using this. Im not quite sure where there word INTENSIVE fits into this shower cream, oh yes maybe it should intensively rubbish lol
As this is quite a large bottle I found that sadly it lasted me for about 2 months, although I didnt use it everyday because I couldnt bear the thought of smelling like sudocream all day.
So the many times I used this id didnt do anything beneficial to my skin so I think I have made my last purchase of this. I wouldnt reccomend this to others and there isnt much to really say about it, well not positive anyway.
I will only give this 2 stars as I dont think it deserves anymore.
If you are indeed interested in this product still you can visit their website I mentioned earlier in the review or most well known supermarkets stock this and alot of the time you can find it on some sort of offer. but if I was you I wouldnt waste my money.
If you're a regular reader of my previous reviews, you won't be suprised to hear that I am a person who has very sensitive skin. That, combined with the fact that I'm incredibly fussy means that choosing the right product for me to shower with can be a long and drawn out affair.
This hasn't been aided by the fact that I've recently moved in with my better half. On our first shop together we tried to find something that would best suit us both.
After trying a few products we settled on this Sanex product. It was on offer and big in size so it made sense to try it out. It usually costs about £1.50 depending on where you go (finding the best supermarket is also proving to be interesting aswell!) and it comes in one standard, ample size bottle which, if you share, generally tends to last about a week and a half to get through.
I find this product has a number of benefits. Firstly it does the job and does it well. It cleans the skin well, washes off with no residue and smells nice as well leaving you feel fresh after a wash. Basically, it does the job and does it well.
Secondly, it's kind to the skin, it does irritate it and it washes the skin kindly. I find this is a quality that you don't find in many cleaning soaps and they've done their research very well
Also, there's an awful lot of value for one bottle. I find it lasts a lot longer than smaller bottles which are usually smaller and last less while doing less of a good job. You do get real value for money with this.
Any drawbacks? Well, I can only find one which is the quality of the bottle. You should be weary of using this because you have to tip it upside down when you get the soap out. When you do this it pours out and you can waste a lot if you're not careful. Also, the bottle is smooth throughout with no grip and you can easily drop it when your hands are soaking wet and slippery. If you're weary of all of this though then you're sure to have a great product in your bathroom.
Overall it's highly recommended by me and it performs the tasks that are asked of it very well.
I have been using Sanex products for close to 10 years now, on the advice of a good friend who recommended it to me for sensitive skin (& other areas!). I never realised just how irritating the products I used to use were until I tried Sanex shower gels!
Sanex brought out this 'Dermo Intensive' version a couple of years ago & I decided to give it a go. I much prefer it to the other Sanex shower gels as it is much thicker & creamier to use, and feels a bit more luxurious. As a rule, Sanex shower gels & bath foams are really quite runny & don't feel the nicest, but as I've said the benefits to me outweigh this, hence me sticking to the brand.
The shower cream is a pale yellow colour & only very lightly scented. The flip-top bottle is easy to grasp, even in the shower, & the product runs out easily but without ending up everywhere.
Prices are usually around £2.60 for a 500ml bottle, which is reasonable value. Better still, the range is frequently on 'Buy 1 get 1 Free', at such as Wilkinson's & supermarkets. I always wait until I see an offer before stocking up! I ran out a couple of weeks ago, but when I looked for it at Asda I realised it wasn't on offer & decided to wait since I knew it would be on offer in the near future. Instead I bought a Palmolive cream that was classed as 'Sensitive' & on offer for £1. It smelt nice & felt quite silky, but the irritation from using it was not worth it! I quickly ran back to the store for my Sanex!
I went into Superdrug the other day to get some more shower gel or shower crème and there are always so many different shower products that look really nice so I like to try quite a few if possible. One of the ones that I noticed they had on a big display was huge bottles of Sanex on a BOGOF offer at £3.03 each.
What stood out about this product was the size. Shower gel pretty much always seems to come in 250ml bottles and I get through mine pretty quickly so I thought that this 500ml bottle might be a good idea especially at a price that makes it cheaper than Superdrug's own brand version. Bargain.
The first thing I have to say is that the packaging is not very aesthetically pleasing to my eyes. The colour of the bottle is a dull yellow and the lid mid blue. I also prefer packaging where you can see how much remains so you know when you are going to run out. It just looks a bit cheap and nasty. I don't even like the name much actually; it reminds me of some sort of industrial disinfectant or something. This one is designed for dry skin with vitamin e and claims to protect your skin, moisturise it and restore its natural balance. I don't know about these claims, it sounds like marketing hype; I just want it to clean really.
When I have used it I have found it lathers well. It's not the most concentrated shower crème I have used but if you pour a bit out it does give you a lot of lather at one go. I really dislike runny shower gels where you have to use a tenth of the bottle every time you bathe or shower. The liquid comes out a pretty pale yellow colour and though it doesn't claim to have a specific fragrance I find that it always smells fresh and clean, perhaps a little sweet which I like but the smell doesn't linger on your skin.
I haven't noticed that my skin has become any softer since starting to use this and I can't say I'm too keen on the packaging but other than that I am happy because it cleans nicely and is a bargain if on offer. I probably would only buy it again if on offer as I like to experiment but I think the big size would make it perfect for family bathrooms.
