“ Brand: Sanex / gel with vitamin C / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Energises „
I picked up a 500ml bottle of this Sanex shower gel from my local Home Bargains for £1. The Sanex range can tend to be priced around the £2-3 in Boots and the supermarkets as it is quite a respected skin care brand, so I felt like I had got something of a bargain.
The bottle is actually slightly different from that in the picture above because it actually has a picture of an Orange on the front rather than that swirly pattern. So begins the mystery of the missing orange. Despite the bottle being orange, the gel itself being bright orange and the picture of the orange on the front of the bottle seeming to indicate that this product is based on oranges.....it smells of......nothing really.
I felt rather let down by this strange mixed message because my brain was telling me this was going to smell invigorating, energising and distinctly ORANGE. The actual scent is a subtle, floral one which really is not particularly distinct in any way. There is not even a hint of orange behind it.
Anyway, aside from the puzzling lack of orange scent, the product works very well. The packaging is not my favourite kind for shower gel because the lid is on the top so you have to tip it up to access the gel inside, this is fine while there is plenty in the bottle but becomes annoying as it begins to run out and I generally end up trying to stand them upside down on the lid.
The gel lathers up really well and you do not need to use a lot to get a good amount of foam for your whole body. I notice that it makes the skin incredibly slippery, almost like it adds a layer of moisture immediately. This is nice and makes the skin feel incredibly smooth.
This particular product is 'enriched with Vitamin C' (which again makes me think of oranges...) which means that it replenishes the skin's natural nourishment. It is recommended for use on normal skin, mine is actually dry but this suits my skin very well.
After showering my skin is lovely and soft after using this and at £1 a bottle I think it is actually very good value for money. I would really have liked it better if it smelt of oranges though.
