As somebody who suffers from psoriasis, sometimes using skin or body products can be like walking into a mine field-I have no idea what to expect. Some products are absolutely fine and I don't seem to have a reaction to them. Others seem to give me that itchy scratchy feeling which isn't very good or nice to experience.
Ive used this particular product many times before. I bought this from Sainsburys this week as it was half price at £1.57 for a 650ml bottle.
Why did I buy it?
As mentioned before, Ive used this product and many from the Sanex range before and they tend to be very kind to my skin. The fact that they normally come in great big whacking size and regularly on special offer is why I like to buy them.
How is it packaged?
The product comes in a 650ml sized clear plastic bottle. Very simple and basic in style and look. On the front is the ' Sanex ' logo at the top. Directly underneath is the word ' zero ' in bold lettering and beneath that it mentions the product doesn't contain parabens, colourants, phthalates and phenoxyethanol. It also says that product is for normal skin and is a bath foam.
On the back it tells you ingredients and who product is for and company contact details.
To get the product out of packaging simply flip the section of the lid that's hinged up, and squeeze or pour product out.

What do I think?
I rarely have a chance to have a bath as its abit time consuming. Having two young children means having a shower is much more practical and time efficient, so 99.9% of the time I use this as a shower gel rather than a foam bath.
First thing I do with all my body/skin product is have a good whiff. This smells fresh, clean, quite refreshing and completely unisex as there is nothing in this that smells floral or feminine. So great one for men and women ( packaging unisex also ).
The bath foam is clear and gel like in look. A good decent thickness to it, hence why I find it so easy to use In the shower.
It foams up very well, and find I only need a small amount of product for the desired effect. Very easy to wash with and pleasant also. I don't find the product dries my skin out during washing or after. Skin feels very normal ( which is a must for me considering my skin problems ) and reasonably hydrated considering. I don't feel I have to rush and put some form of body cream on straight away, but I do purely to make sure my skin is as supple and hydrated as much as possible because if not, my skin tends to regret it sooner rather than later.
Would I buy again? Yes I would-I know theres the shower version available of this product as I have used it numerous times before, but to be honest the size of this product is so generous and it acts no different as a shower gel as it does in the bath, so why discriminate? To be fair, I tend to buy this when half price, or already cheap if in a discount store such as Home Bargains, but they tend to be on offer every few months so can always get a good price.
I buy this product because I have a specially sensitive skin and these items help keep me clean and desensitise my skin and body. I hate shower and bath gels that make you feel itchy afterwards. Fortunately this is one of those products that resolves this problem by making your skin feel soft and cared for.
I like the range from sanex, as they not only do bath and shower gels and cremes but do hand lotions and hand washes too. They are very skin caring products and smell very fresh and appealing even though there are no harsh perfumes in their products. This leaves your skin feeling fresh and alive.
There are various different types of sanex products to go with and Although I prefer the dermatological ones there are others to choose from too.
Their range varies from shower gels, bath gels, deodorants, hand wash creams and gels, to shampoos as well.
These vary in price as most of the time there are some kind of other or other going on which can bring the price down to a measly £2 but generally your looking at around £3.95 per bottle of shower or bath gel.
I find these suit my skin and make me feel comfortable with my eczema. I like the gentle fresh smell that it provides although this is not a long lasting fragrance it is not why I buy this product anyway. My main priority is caring for my skin. It lathers well if you get the foamy varieties, I tend to prefer the cremes which have a silky feel and makes you feel pampered. It feels Cool and soothing and has a nice smell. What more could a girl want.
When using the bath cremes and gels I find there is no scum afterwards and this for me is a bonus as the bath looks clean when I empty it, so makes cleaning it afterwards that much easier.
A good product in my view with simple labelling and no nonsense no frills bottles.
These are generally clear with a cellophane label attached to the front in Blue writing, telling you about the product inside. Like I said no frills just good no nonsense cleaning.
It seems like the bain of my life having sensitive skin. It is hard to find a product that proves to smell and feel great and fails to irritate my skin. Yet I was very pleasantly surprised with this shower gel!
The packaging epitomises what this product is all about. It is clean and simple.
The lack of harsh chemicals means that there is much less chance of skin irritation and unpleasant rashes. But thankfully Sanex also realise that this does not mean that the product has to be fragrance free.
There is a subtitle fragrance which smells gentile and is not overpowering, but you can smell it.
The consistency of the gel is thinner than most and has little body to it, but it is not as runny as water. But don't be fooled- you do not have to use half a bottle just because there is no real foam - just a normal amount is fine.
In the simplest of terms the best recommendation I can give this product is that it works! An ultimately that is all we can ask. I makes my skin feel great, has a subtitle fragrance and as a bonus claims to be better for the environment!
So, its a win - win :)
I love the Sanex range as they are made to use if you have sensative skin and their ingredients are gentle on your skin and PH balanced.
I like the scent of this bath gel as it is a nice fresh scent, not flowery or fruity but the same fresh scent of the other Sanex range of skin care and bath products.
I paid £2.69 for a 600ml bottle from the co-op which isn't too bad to pay for a bath gel.
The ingredients are :-
Sodium Laureth Sulfate
All these make up the thick gel which you only need a little of , it doesn't foam up like most other bath products and has less ingredients than most others too, so that it breaks down in the water easier for less harm to the environment .
This has to be worth the price as there are too many chemicals, flushed down the toilets and drains that end up in the sea.
This is gentle on the skin and when used the skin feels clean and soft after, it doesn't dry the skin so you don't need moisuriser on after or body lotion .
I like this product and can recommend as it is something I will buy again .
We unfortunately live in a cosmetic world that is laden with chemicals, and it can be an extreme challenge to find products that have a low chemical load. Most of the time we aren't even aware of what we are putting onto our skin, and our children's skin, every day and the impact these products may have on the environment. That is why it is refreshing to see a mainstream brand making an effort to produce products with minimal/reduced use of harmful chemicals. I bought sanex zero bath, and found the formula was very gently on my skin, it wasn't over drying and had no over powering smell, so I stated to using it in my sons bath and it didn't dry out his young delicate skin either. This product is more than suitable for all the family and the environment (it has been approved by the European Eco Label). So if you would like to make a positive change to your skin and the environment, this product would be a good one to begin with. Less is more.
I am always cautious when trying a new bath or shower product due to my sensitive skin and psoriasis, however I have been very impressed with Sanex's bath foam. It didn't irritate my skin at all, in fact my skin feels softer and it helped lock in moisture. The smell was lovely, nice and fresh but not too potent. Most bath products have a strong, fake smell but this one didn't at all. The price is great value, not too expensive at all and is a competitive price. I have tried lots of bath products but this has been favourite one simply because it is so kind to my sensitive skin and for such a bargain price! Recommend for those of all ages too and all skin types as it is kind to your skin. A definite must on your shelf on at home, it will certainly be on my shelf!
I loved this product. First of all, Sanex is a brand that doesn't test on animals which is a huge plus.
Secondly, I'm not a huge fan of strong smelling body washes which will eventually mix with my perfume and make a sickly mixture.
The gel itself is thick and lathers up nicely. It smells clean- not perfumed just like clean laundry, perhaps.
This product is amazing for summer, sun kissed or a little burnt skin as it is gentle, perfume free and there's plenty of it for the price you pay. I used to the entire time I was in Spain, back from the beach or from the pool.
Another plus is that it is massive, so you don't have to keep going back to the store to buy more.
I'd definitely recommend this for people with intolerance to perfumed soaps or with sensitive skin- or just anyone who wants a fresh, simple, cruelty-free body wash :)
I have a very large family and finding ways of suiting everyone impossible. As each of my children have different skin complaints i have always had to buy a number of cleansing products just to stop flare-ups.
One day i spotted this very plain looking bottle on the supermarket shelf, which to me is more attractive than all the colourful bottles next to it as plain means sensitive. I read the front and back of the bottle which read: 0% parabens, 0% colourants, 0% phthalates and 0% phenoxyethanol and even though i havent got a clue what any of these things are dont really want to rub them on my skin. So this sounded good to me.
I took all the other products away from the bathroom and replaced it by this one bottle.
. First test was my little 1 year old and 3 year old daughters their delicate skin felt so soft. 100% HAPPY.
. Followed by my 11 year old son with chronic eczema and is allergis to almost everything on this planet. No red rash or itching. 100% HAPPY.
. The biggest test of all came from someone who doesn't like changing products and usually only uses a prescription bath oil for his psoriasis. after a lot of apprehension he agreed to try it. His skin did not dry out and felt very soft and he found his skin felt better using this as it didnt feel greasy like it would with the bath oil. 100% HAPPY.
. Myself and the other children who do not have any skin complaints also felt that our skin felt healthier after using this. 100% HAPPY.
I have recommended this to all my friends and would like to recommend this to you also.
I found this product great as I have very dry/sensitive skin. I find the whole Sanex range very gentle and also very affordable. The Sanex Zero in particular is very mild. I have suffered with eczema since I was a child and this caused no problems at all for my skin. I did notice that it didn't foam very much so if you like a good lather this is probably not the one for you. It is not the most exciting product as it is clear in colour and has no particular fragrance which is understandable as it is designed to be mild. This is also a good choice if your pregnant and worried about using products with too much fragrance and chemicals. The Sanex website also states that it is 'mindful of the environment with its minimal impact on aquatic systems' so if thats good to know. It comes in a good size bottle and lasts a long time so it is very good value for money.
A while ago I woke up covered head to toe in spots. I thought I had meningitis or something but it turned out in the end that I was allergic to something or other but I never did get to the bottom of what lol. Not knowing what caused the itchy and sore looking reaction I ended up going out to my local Asda store and buying loads of products suitable for sensitive and allergy suffering skin and this was one of the products I chose to buy costing me almost £3.00 but for a large 650ml size of it which is more than I usually pay for bath products believe me!
The packaging of this is very unisex indeed. The product comes in a mostly see-through plastic frosted bottle with a flip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole and on the right hand side of it there are finger marks indented into the bottle for ease of handling. On the front of the bottle in white, blue and green writing we are told that it is Sanex Zero% 'Bath' Foam Bath, Normal Skin and that its to 'Keep skin healthy' and we are also told that it contains 0% Parabens, Colourants, Phthalates and Phenoxyethanol. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told bit about the product, the ingredients used within it are listed, the size is stated (as I have listed already) and contact details for Sara Lee (the manufacturer of the product) are given. Like I stated earlier within this review this is a very unisex bottle and very straightforward to understand that by its appearance alone that it is a plain kind of product (hope that makes sense lol).
The Bath Foam Itself:
Well the bath foam is clear and rather runny but not like water and it does have some body to it. It has a fresh scent to it which I can only describe as like a fresh smelling aftershave! It's a light fragrance and not distinctive and although not what I think of as a feminine scent it is really fresh and sort of green in fragrance and very pleasant indeed without being too strong or overpowering.
I was surprised that not very much of this product at all gives a nice, long lasting white foam to the water and that it also made the water slightly softer than just plain water but not too soft and the aroma was pleasant to sit in.
When I dried myself off my skin was left delicately scented for a good couple of hours and my skin felt refreshed but not overly soft...just sort of normal really!
This product is approved of by dermatologists and I did find that it never aggravated my already sore skin and actually seemed to soothe my skin rather a lot and as I feel its so skin kind I have since the first bottle of this bought another bottle which I use whenever my skin feels slightly irritated or itchy and I like a dip in this after spending time out in the sun as its so soothing.
I think this is a great family use kind of product which cuts out nasties and doesn't irritate me and a big bottle of this goes a very long way indeed for me so it works out an economy buy in my case!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc.
