Au Lait Bathing Milk
I bought a bulk order from the Scottish Fine Soaps Company with a random selection of their items that they had on offer at the time. Their website has a very good sale section and I tend to try products from this and look out for some of my favourites being on offer http://www.scottishfinesoaps.com.
I bought a bottle of their Au Lait Bathing Milk simply because it was something I hadn't tried before and was a bit curious about using bathing milk in my bath. The bottle design of this also caught my eye. It is designed to look quite like a milk bottle, being made of glass, but it is tall and thin rather than being short and stumpy. It looks to me like a very posh milk bottle!
The top of the bottle had a black cap that you unscrew to pour the bathing milk out. The colour scheme is a catching black and white, with the bathing milk obviously being white coloured. The text on the bottle is very simplistic, Au Lait in black font and a little picture of a cow with some product descriptions and ingredients on the back. The bottle holds 220 ml of bathing milk product.
To use the bathing milk you make it as you would a normal bubble bath, run a good amount of hot water into your bath. Pour the bathing milk into the stream of hot water and then stir the milk and water together and let it bubble up. The consistency is quite thin and you need to pour a decent amount into the bath to get the most out of the bathing milk. This bubbles a lot more than I would have expected a bathing milk to do, more so than some bubble baths I have used! The water gets a nice off white colour to it and has a silky consistency and texture.
The smell of this is very pleasant, it smells fresh and floral and slightly milky, but not a sickly milk smell. It almost smells creamy, but mainly nice and rich. The product is made up of milk proteins which naturally hydrate the skin and Vitamin E which has rejuvenating properties and natural anti-oxidising properties.
When I have bathed in this my skin feels silky smooth and very moisturised. I tend to use this infrequently as I see it as a bit of a luxury and treat bath time product rather than an everyday item. It has a creaminess to it which reminds you of milk, but in a silky and smooth way.
Overall I really like this bathing milk, though I do feel it is missing something, but I'm not sure what, perhaps some punch! However this bathing milk does do everything that it states and comes in a lovely bottle for showcasing in my bathroom, it is relaxing and moisturising and so perfect for a bath.
A 220 ml bottle currently costs £7.95 on the Scottish Fine Soaps Company website, I picked mine up at half price from them which makes it a bit more affordable, but very much worth the money!
