I was looking around for a shower cream for sensitive skin (for myself) and found this "Simple KIND TO SKIN soothing shower cream", so I was happy to buy this as Simple has a very good reputation. It also claims to have "Aloe Vera goodness", so a double whammy of good stuff, as Aloe Vera is also really popular. I bought it on offer at £1 at Wilkinsons, but it is sold in lots of shops/supermarkets/chemists. It's been a year for very cheap shower gel, it used to be nearly £2, now they are £1. Bargain! The nice thing about this shower cream is that the bottle is see-through, so you can see how much is left. It's also an "upside down" bottle, so that it sits on it's lid which you flip up and then pour out how much you desire, no shaking the bottle or having a hard time to get the cream out, it flows really well. A little goes a long way so you do have to be careful how much you use, a squeeze smaller than a 50p is sufficient if you use a wet sponge, which I always do,as, it makes everything go so much further, I only use the one squirt which is plenty. Then I just shower as usual, the cream continues to bubble up with the sponge and the flow from the shower, it is suitable for all parts of the body, but I always rinse well afterwards. The thing I miss most is the smell! Other shower gels - which are too harsh if you have sensitive skin - leave you with a good, strong, clean smell afterwards, which Simple doesn't, but it says on the bottle "No perfume / no colour" so I will take this as a plus. I do use other Shower Creams (not sensitive ones) and the Simple one is the kindest to skin. It claims to have 2 vital vitamins :- B5 and Vitamina E 3 Skin loving nutrients:- Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Rosemary Oil 0 - No perfume and no colour Which all sounds wonderful but if you look closer you will find the list of ingredients, far too many to mention. It seems even shower cream for sensitive skin is full of chemicals, but hey, it does leave your skin feeling clean and not dry, so definitely one I would recommend for sensitive skin.
Yes...It's another Simple product review, what can I tell you, I love this brand!! Ok, so this one is the shower gel, I have also reviewed the moisturiser and the face wash. Again, I love the shower gel, they just don't let you down these simple folks! The shower gel costs around £2 from boots and can be bought cheaper and quite often on offer from shops like Wilko's and Home Bargains. The gel comes in a see through container with a flip top style lid. This is very useful as you can see how much shower gel you have left when using it and you can easily get the desired amount out of the bottle as it sits on its lid which means no squeezing to get the last drops out! I shower every other day and use two different types of Simple shower gel, just to liven it up a bit! This is my favourite. You just rub the shower gel all over your body and it lathers up really nicely. It doesn't have a strong smell, which is the same as other simple products but there's a definite hint of lavendar and a slight hint of something similar to tea tree oil, this may be the aloe vera it contains. It's a nice smell anyway and definitely helps to soothe. After I have used this my skin feels lovely and soft and I can still smell the slight hint of lavendar which I like. I have been using this a while now and I do think it's helping my skin, its soft and smooth and alot less dry. This is marketed as a shower gel but it's also lovely to use in the bath and definitely does have a calming effect (or maybe that was the candles I had lit?!) As with other simple products it contains no harsh chemicals, soap or alcohol, just naturally derived ingredients, which I love as this really seems to suit my sensitive skin. This does exactly what it claims too, its soothing and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. Overall a great product, I do love Simple!
Simple Soothe shower cream with active ingredients of Aloe Vera and Rosemary Oil. With no added perfume or colour it has only natural benefits for sensitive skin. This product is also dermatologically tested and approved and does not contain any animal derived ingredients. Simple claim it is a gentle cleansing combined with a blend of naturally enhancing, aromatic ingredients that nourish your skin and treat your senses. I would say they have got this spot on! When i was looking for a shower gel in the shop i noticed this was on offer for £2 for a 250ml bottle and you got a free sample of Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser. I bought this product as i have never been disappointed with Simple and swear by most of their products. I took this product on holiday with me and it kept me skin in fabulous condition, normally when on holiday my skin goes dry n flakey but when using this twice a day my skin stayed hydrated for the full duration of my holiday. Since i have got home from my holiday i have never purchased a different product and don't think i will as i am totally 100% satisfied with this. I recommend this product to anyone, regardless oh wether you have sensitive skin or not.
I usually buy my shower gels according to what is on offer, either 3 for 2 or 2 for 1, however I had purposely been looking for a shower product that would be gentle on my skin. I have quite dry skin and do not like to use anything too perfumed on it so I regularly use Simple soap for my everyday hand washing therefore when I came across the Simple Soothe Shower Cream I thought I would give it a try. The Shower Cream is in the usual style shower gel plastic bottle, with a flip top lid that means it can sit on the side of the bath/shower, it doesn't have a hook or handle to hang it up with. There is the usual green Simple logo on the front of the product, the packaging design is very minimalist. It is a container with 250mls of the product. On the back there are some directions for usage, a list of ingredients and some details on the benefits of the product. The Shower Cream is white in colour and as you would expect with Simple it has no added perfume although there is a smell from the rosemary oil and aloe vera. I have not listed all the ingredients as there is quite an extensive list. Simple products do not contain any animal derived ingredients. This is a shower cream as opposed to a gel, and it is indeed very thick and creamy when you squeeze it out. I sometimes find that shower gels can be quite slippery and run out of your hand before you can apply them, not with this cream it was very easy to use and I found that I didn't need a lot of the product to wash with, it does give a bit of a lather but not too much. I found that when I put it onto my skin it had an almost warm like effect, probably the aloe vera, but when I had showered it off and dried myself my skin did not feel itchy or stingy in any way. The Shower Cream contains "active ingredients" aloe vera and rosemary oil. The information on the back of the container states that the natural benefits are: Aloe vera calms and rescues Rosemary oil relaxes and refreshes Moisturisers hydrate and condition. The product has no added perfume or colour, is dermatologically tested and approved, as you would expect from Simple. I did find it was a very pleasing product, it did smell good when applied but didn't leave a lingering perfume, my skin did not have any adverse reaction to the product and generally I did feel clean after using it. However I didn't find the product remarkable in any way, in fact rather non-descript, I would buy it again if it was on offer but wouldn't commit to buying it on a regular basis. There was nothing that made it stand out from the rest, although I was pleased with the results and perhaps because it did what it was supposed to do I would purchase it again, if it was on offer. I am not sure how much I paid, although it is currently selling at £1.98 in Asda. More information on Simple products can be found at www.simple.co.uk
