Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub
Advantages: easy to use, effective, scent
Disadvantages: scent does not stay on skin
I absolutely love soap and glory products, I think they are affordable and are of a great quality. My latest purchase from soap and glory was the breakfast scrub and I am proud to say that it has surpassed all of my expectations.
**What is the breakfast scrub?**
The breakfast scrub is an exfoliator, or if you want to use the term that soap and glory have used it is a sugar body smoother.
The main ingredients that are used are oats and shea butter which are known for their smoothing and softening qualities. The scrub also contains organic cupacu bio scrubs, bananas and almond and honey extracts.
What makes this scrub stand out from the crowd is that it smells like maple syrup, hence the name breakfast scrub.
For a soap and glory product this one has quite minimalist packaging. The lid is pink and uses girly colour shades but other than that the packaging is plain.
The scrub itself is in a tub rather than a squeezy tube. I much prefer scrubs when they come like this as I find them easier to use and you can get right in and use all of the product up to make sure none goes to waste.
The pot sits nicely and the lid is very secure so it will not dry out or get any excess water in.
When you open the lid the smell of this product is absolutely divine! It smells just like pancakes and syrup. If you smell with your eyes closed you would think that is what the smell was, it smells good enough to eat. Since the smell is quite sweet I would not recommend it if you are not a lover of sweet scents.
In the tub the scrub looks very grainy and quite thick. This did not deter me at all as I like to feel that an exfoliator has done a good job.
**Using the scrub**
As I dipped my hand into the product I found that my first impressions were right and the product was in fact quite thick. I had previously been using flake away from soap and glory and this is much thicker than that. Being thick meant I could pick up a good amount to rub into my skin and it didn't drip anywhere.
As the product is being rubbed into my skin the glorious scent fills the shower. I don't find it at all sickly.
Rubbing the product into my skin is easy and despite looking very grainy the product does not irritate my skin. The grains are not too harsh but you can tell they are working.
As I wash the product off my skin it comes off easily to leave my skin feeling incredibly soft. It feels as if it has had a new lease of life.
After drying my skin it still feels soft and moisturised. I am assuming this is due to the use of the shea butter.
Despite having the most wonderful scent when being in the tub and whilst being used in the shower I am disappointed to say that the scent does not stay on my skin. After an hour or so I can hardly smell it, sometimes I can't even smell it at all.
**Price and Availability**
This is not the cheapest body scrub on the market costing between £9 and £10 but I think it is worth every penny. You can buy this product form various retailers both online and on the high street.
I love this body scrub. It gives great results and it is also a product that I enjoy using. When my tub runs out I will be buying it again but I have to knock off one star due to the lasting of the scent. 4 stars.
