Prior to buying this, I had never tried any Soap and Glory products before but had always read good reviews online so I decided to try something from the range. I decided to get this Clean Girls Body Wash.
It comes in a nice big bottle (500ml) with a pink push-down dispenser which is a nice change for a shower gel. The dispenser is easy to work although sometimes the top of mine twists around a bit when I'm trying to operate it with wet hands which is a bit annoying. The product itself is white with a slight pink pearlescent sheen when held up to the light which looks quite pretty. I have found that the bottle dispenses a decent amount and a couple of squirts are enough, especially when using a sponge or exfoliating gloves as it foams up nicely.
I would describe the scent as a nice subtle flowery smell. The label on the bottle informs me more precisely that it is in fact: beautiful notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk.
The label on the bottle is decorated with little quirky, faintly amusing comments and descriptions which is a nice bit of branding I'm sure someone is very proud of. This body wash apparently has a built in "moisturising matrix". I'm sure this means absolutely nothing whatsoever but it does feel creamier when lathering up than non-moisturising shower gels so I guess I will let them off!
Loads of Soap and Glory products are available at Boots, which is where I picked this up for free as part of a 3 for 2 offer. Normally it retails there for £6.50 which seems a bit expensive but seeing as you get 500ml it's not so bad really. So, in conclusion, I like this product and would recommend it. I like to always use a different shower gel so I might not get this exact one again but I'm sure I will now try other products from the range in the future.
Clean, Girls body wash was one of the first items I got in this year's beauty advent calendar from Boots. Always one to welcome anything by Soap and Glory I got started on the 75ml bottle. I have used other body washes and shower gels from this brand so had high expectations before starting. I also bought myself the big S&G kit this year from Boots when it was on offer and haven't even opened it (saving for a rainy day lol) so I'm hoping there's a nice big bottle of Clean, Girls in there too!
What is it?
Clean, Girls is from Soap & Glory and is a skin softening creamy body wash with natural vanilla fruit and orchid extracts and built in moisturising matrix. Sound a bit fancy but did it live up to expectations? The packaging is also to be mentioned in merit due to the retro but fun angle they add to the modern plastic solution.
I just used a small drizzle (no pump on the sample travel size but the bigger sizes have this better delivery method) and it went a long way, cleaning on the skin without drying or being too soapy. It smelt girly and lovely and just as nice as the other S&G range.
Mine was technically free as part of the advent calendar I gifted myself, but I have noticed the big 500ml bottles in store for around £6 and often part of further promotions where you get a free gift or 3 for 2 plus Boots points of course!
I really like Clean, girls, just as much as the other shower gel 'clean on me' so I am happy to repurchase this in the larger size. It also multi tasks as a cheat as you don't really need to moisturise after using this product. You can if you wish to though. I also used a few drops in a bath as I ran it and it worked well as a bubble bath, the body wash for the lazy!! Again I felt it helped keep my skin nice and supple and clean.
I really don't think you can go wrong with this product. I will buy it for friends as a gift as well as treating myself. Whilst it is a tad more expensive than other shower gels on the market, the bottle is by far bigger and lasts a really long time with the pump dispenser as you aren't tempted to squeeze out too much. It really does work well and the fragrance is fine for all ages. Highly recommended and a definite repurchase on the cards for this Soap and Glory fan!!
I live Soap and Glory and it's one of my few remaining extravagancies as I try and save money for the future! My best friend gave me a lovely Soap and Glory gift set quite a few years ago, and although it took me a long time to start using it, once I did I was hooked, particularly on the "Clean on Me" shower gel.
I was browsing in Boots a while back, knowing that I needed some new shower gel, but to be different and have a little bit of variety in my life, along with my normal "Clean on Me", I picked up a "Foam Call" (already reviewed) and "Clean, Girls" which is what I'm reviewing now - this is actually a 'Body Wash' rather than a shower gel but I'm not sure what the difference is!
While Soap and Glory is more expensive than some bath and shower products, in the 3 for 2 offer it doesn't work out THAT expensive...and I find that the bottles do last a long time.
---The packaging and ingredients etc---
I have the 500ml bottle. This comes in the usual gorgeous Soap and Glory pink packaging. - a clear container with a pink pump bit on the top. This is marketed as a 'skin softening creamy body wash'....and I'd say it lives up to this. There is a photo of a woman (in black and white) peering out from a shower curtain - it's quite a 1950s looking picture.
I think this really brightens up my boyfriend's shower, which prior to me arriving looked somewhat masculine.
"Clean, Girls" contains numerous ingredients (mostly water probably) which I won't listy - always check first if you have any skin sensitivities.
For the animal lovers among us, this bottle states that the product was safety/efficacy tested in the UK on a bunch of 'covetous scrub-ups' (so I imagine no animals....but I could be wrong). I love these little text bits on the Soap and Glory Products, such as the details of how to use this product - it's well worth reading the bottle just to get a couple of seconds of pleasure, so I won't repeat everything that it says on the bottle.
---Using 'Clean, Girls'---
I usually do 3 or 4 little squirts onto my boyfriend's black shower puff thingy-do (that's what I call it) - I have yet to bring over my pink one - I really should, he needs more pink in his house....and if I introduce it gradually (along with my moose collection) then he won't notice until it's too late. The liquid itself is a baby pink colour and a nice thick-ish shower gel consistency.
It is very creamy and lathers up really well and is easy to use. Showering with this always brings a smile to my face as it smells so nice and gives me that small touch of luxury which is much appreciated first thing in the morning. It smells vaguely floral sweet but not overly so. It's just a general clean smelling lovely fragrance,
According to the Soap and Glory website, it "Contains natural vanilla fruit and orchid extracts plus a built-in moisturising matrix (so further moisturising isn't essential). Scented with our Mist You MadlyTM fragrance"" - I think this explains why I can't put my finger on the smell as I'm not well acquainted with vanilla fruits.
I've been using this bottle probably for 2 months, and there's still a bit left. It leaves me feeling nice and clean with soft skin and although I'd like the scent to linger a little longer on my skin after using it, otherwise I can't fault it at all.
I have really enjoyed using "Clean, Girls" - I think I like it just as much as my usual "Clean on Me" shower gel, and definitely more than "Foam Call" (which although nice, doesn't have that WOW factor for me as the other two do).
It retails at £6.50 which is 50p more than "Clean on Me" (the same as "Foam Call"), and I'm sure I will be buying this again - obviously only when a 3 for 2 offer is on in Boots. I look forward to trying more and more Soap and Glory products when money allows me to!
5 out of 5 stars from me!
I am a big fan of Soap and Glory products, although my previous reviews may not have conveyed that. With this in mind, I figured it would be a good idea to write a review on one of my favourites from the range rather than the ones I didn't quite get on with!
Soap and Glory are was the brainchild of Marcia Kilgore , who also is behind the Bliss Spa in New York. The quirky names, the pink retro packaging and the fact that most of the products do what they say on the tin have all helped to make the brand a success.
This shower gel comes in 2 sizes, a small 75ml travel/trial size priced at £2.50 and the full size of 500ml which retails at £6.50 in Boots, or £6.00 from Harvey Nichols online.
The shower gel is a pale pinky/cream slightly irridescent colour and quite thick but still easy to use with the pump on the larger bottle. It lathers up really well, even when I'm not using my shower puff. It contains a 'mousturising matrix' built in (whatever that is), and I noticed it does leave my skin feeling slightly softer, even the next day. It does say on the instructions that you can use a moisturiser after this, but I find I don't need to
According to the website, the fragrance contains notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk.. The fragrance is hard to describe - my friend described it as smelling 'clean' and I think that's a good way to sum up the scent.. I does really last as well, I find that I just seem to smell really clean after using this.
I do love this shower gel, as it does smell great, and it also leaves my skin softer, and even without my shower puff, it's easy to lather up and to use. The only disadvantage is the price, but you can buy it with Boots advantage points, or Boots quite often have Soap and Glory on a 3 for 2 offer. As my title said, I'm definitely proud to be a 'Clean, Girl!'

Soap & Glory was founded by Marcia Kilgore. She opened New York's famous Bliss Spa when she was 26 years old. In 2006 she launched Soap & Glory and within weeks it had become a huge success. There range has bath and body, fragrance, skincare, cosmetics and a men's range.
Clean Girls is a body wash that comes in a pump action bottle. It is a clear bottle with a sticker on it with an old fashioned black and white picture. Surrounding the picture is the writing which is mainly white and black with a pink background. On the sides are the usual things of product details, ingredients, contact information and the usual warning signs. Once opened it should be used within 24 months and the bottle is recyclable.
I bought a set of soap and glory products in the Christmas sales as I had always wanted to try them. When I got out the clean girls body wash I thought the packaging was very girly and I loved me. I love bottles that I can display in the bathroom and this was certainly one I could do that with. I could already see the colour of the body wash which is a baby pink colour. When I first used it the pump was easy to use and produce just the right amount of product. I found the formula very creamy which led me to believe that this body wash would be quite moisturising. I found the smell to be not too sweet but I could really smell the vanilla and blackcurrant and a slight floral smell.
When I first used I pumped a couple of times into my body polisher and gave it a good scrunch. It foamed up really well and was very creamy. Washing my body it cleaned really well and didn't dry out my skin. The scent encased my bathroom and it was very lovely and not to overpowering. Once I had finished and dried I noticed that what I thought was right, my skin had been left wonderfully soft and not a dry patch in sight. The scent lingered on my skin for most of the day.
Overall after using this for around five months I can say I absolutely love this product. It is moisturising, creamy and a wonderful smell. I love that as the product is in a clear bottle I can see how much I have used. I think this has lasted well form using it pretty much every day. I will be purchasing it again as I think it is a very good price, especially when the BOGOF offer is on in boots.
Price and Availability
Soap & Glory Clean Girls is available in most Boots stores and online at the price of £6.50 for a 500ml bottle. They also do a travel size for £2.50 which is 250ml.
What I really love about my local Boots is that they have a really big selection of Soap and Glory products and they sell these little trial size bottles of Soap and Glory products. For me, this is a great way of trying the products and seeing if I like them before investing in a big version of the product, as if I would ever not love a Soap and Glory product, but still, there is always the off chance, anyway. Also, these make great little travel bottles so its a good way of taking my favourite product away with me and still having nice smelling shower gels and lotions, etc.
This is how I first tried Soap and Glory's Clean Girls, a skin softening creamy body wash. This has the same scent as the Mist You Madly fragrances so its a bit different than the regular marshmellow smell of some of Soap and Glory's other products but that's not to say its not as delicious as the other fragrance. This is a lovely fruity smelling creamy body wash and I get quite a sweet smell from it. The fragrance is described as, "beautiful notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and Musk." You can definitely smell the musk in this fragrance, it's quite a deep smelling musk but not too overpowering which is lovely. I also get quite a nice flowery smell from this body wash too and it's a pleasant one to have on your skin during the day.
The liquid is definitely lovely and creamy and feels really silky soft to the touch on the skin. When you look at it in the bottle its almost got a sheen and a shimmer to it so you can see that it is going to be quite luxurious even before you use it. It lathers up really well in the shower and I only need a little bit on a shower puff to smooth it all over my body.
A 500ml costs £6 and has a pump action at the top which I think is a really handy thing to have in the bath or the shower. The small 75ml size that I have cost me just £2.50 so its actually worth paying the extra obviously for the bigger size but it was nice to try it in this trial size and now I know I am going to get the bigger one for my shower as I like it so much.
According to Soap and Glory, "You might be witty, charming, sassy and fabulous, but there's nothing quite as nice as being Clean, Girls!!"
I absolutely adore soap and glory products and so many of my friends and family buy me things from the range for birthdays or Christmas. As such I have a wicker basket just full of soap and glory things to use and a couple of months ago I finally got around to putting the clean girls body wash in my bathroom! This is my review of my experience with the product.
One of the things that I love the most about the soap and glory range is their quirky but fun looking packaging that they use on their products. The quirkiness and the fact that they are usually pink or shades of pink make them a total winner for me! The clean girls skin softening creamy body wash is no exception to this and it comes in a clear plastic bottle which has a pink pump at the top for dispensing of the body wash. The bottle features a black and white picture of a made up woman peeping from behind a shower curtain and there is a little caption which says "you might be witty, charming, sassy and fabulous but there's nothing quite as nice as being clean girls". Through the bottle you can see the body wash which is a pale pink in colour and which looks as though it has a bit of a shimmer to it and so it looks nice and interesting in the bottle!
I have this bottle placed on the side of my bath so that I can use it either in the bath or in the shower. I find that the pump initially needed a few pumps to get the product flowing up the tube but now it just takes a couple of pumps to get a good amount of the body wash on to your hands, shower puff or flannel depending on what you choose to use it with! I have used it in all three ways but my personal favourite is to use it with the soap and glory shower puff as it makes it really lather well and you don't need much at all to have a good wash with it.
This particular product is scented with the same fragrance as the mist you madly body spray which is described as having notes of bergamot, blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk. Now I am a it rubbish and if I just read those words in a review I wouldn't actually have a clue what the product actually smelled like and so I like to try and describe the scent as an overall where I can. For me this scent has a very clean scent to it which initially smells quite strong and floral but I think as you use it this settles down a little and the fruitiness of the scent comes through and lingers on your skin. It is a very pleasant fragrance and one which I think would suit many people due to the fact that it is floral, sweet and musky all in one!
I find that when I use this product I feel as though I am giving my skin a good clean and what is also great is the product contains a "build in moisturising matrix" and so when I have used it my skin doesn't feel as though it needs extra moisturising which for someone like me who is often lazy when it comes to things like that it is nice just to spray on some of the mist you madly body spray and go! My only little issue with this product is that the scent just doesn't linger all that well on my skin when I am out of the bath and have dried off. Although layering it with the body spray helps it would be nice if it was a bit more noticeable without that. Saying that though I find that the clean on me product by soap and glory is similar really and to get the scent to last you need to layer it up.
Although the product looks as though it is shimmery in the bottle I don't find that it is overly noticeable when I am washing with the product and so you need not worry that you are going to end up covered in sparkles after using this product either should that be something that would put you off!
A 500ml bottle of clean girls body wash will cost you £6.00 from Boots and I have to say I think this is a fair price. A bottle this size will literally last you ages even if you use it every single time you shower or have a bath and so you get excellent value with it. You can use a bottle for up to twenty four months from opening it as well so you have lots of time to use it. It is worth noting that often Boots do have three for the price of two on soap and glory products and so you can get it for an even lower price.
I would recommend this product as I like the scent, the way it lathers so well on a shower puff and the way in which you do not need to moisturise afterwards unless you want to. My only niggle is the longevity of the scent but I still think it is worth four Dooyoo stars.
Thank you for reading my review!
I am already a huge fan of the Soap and Glory brand, this particular product was in a gift set that i recieved as a present. Suprisingly I had actually not used this body wash before, so was excited to try it out. The bottle itself is very attractive as is all soap and glory products, its got the usual vintage style imagery on the front. The bottle itself is see through so you can see the gorgously creamy liquid inside.
The pump bottle is very easy to use and is practical as it controls the amount used allowing the product to last longer. I tend to use 2-3 pumps of body wash for one full body application. As soon as you pump the product into your hand you can see how deliciously smooth and creamy the body wash is. The wash itself is cream in colour but does have a beautiful pearlised shine to it which is a pink/purple tint. This i think is a fabulous touch which makes me love it even more, it just makes you feel that you are using a really precious and special product, giving yourself a little luxury for an affordable price.
This body wash applied easily over the body and lathers up quickly. It has a beautiful fragrance which seems to be a mix of vibrant vanilla and something citrus like. After use the skin is ultra smooth and thouroghly cleansed and squeaky clean. The after feeling last for a few hours, skin is still smooth, clean and fragrant for at least 3 hours!
I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone, its a pleasure to use. I do tend to have redness and blotchiness on my upper arms but this product reduces this completley, obviously it is not designed to reduce redness but this was a suprising side effect for me!
I am a big fan of Soap & Glory and I think I pretty much own everything in the whole range. One of my most recent purchases was the Clean Girls Body Wash which is described as being a skin softening creamy cleanser for the body.
How do you use the product?
You use the product in much the same way as any other body wash. You are directed to dispense a handful of the product from the bottle and then massage it into damp skin until you work up a lather. You then need to rinse off the product, dry off the skin and then follow it up with a good moisturiser. You can apply the product to a song to make it go further but I don't feel that this has such a softening effect on the skin.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a transparent bottle and you can see the creamy coloured body wash inside. There is some extra information printed onto a label and it comes jam packed full of lovely little slogans and expressions that liven it up. The top of the product is a pastel pink pump dispenser which is simple to use and dispenses a fair amount of the product with each push. You are unlikely to dispense too much of the product but if you did, you can twist the top off and put it back inside the bottle.
The product will cost you around £6 for 500ml of the product. There is also a little mini 200ml bottle that may be more suitable for travelling with as mine is very big and bulky. It can be bought from department stores such as Boots and also from a variety of online websites.
The product comes with the Mist You Madly signature fragrance. This aroma includes notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and Musk. The fragrance is included in a range of the Soap & Glory products. It is very creamy and smells like delicious vanilla but it also has notes of sweetness and fruitiness with the Blackberry being particularly evident. It is quite a long lasting fragrance which stays on the skin for a long time after you get out of the bath.
The product has a pearly appearance when it is dispensed and it is quite thick compared to some other body washes that I have used. It glides over the skin easily and because of its thick consistency, you have time to massage the product into your body before it can slip off into the water. It does build up a lather quickly and it is a luxurious foamy one instead of a standard bubbly one. It feels comfortable on the skin and doesn't cause any itchiness on my sensitive skin and you can tell that it is a moisturising product.
The product really makes a massive difference to the softness of my skin that I don't commonly find in body washes. After bathing, this body wash makes my skin feel silky smooth and soft from the very first use. The softening effects can still be felt 24 hours after use so the product has long lasting results. I think it even makes my skin look healthier too and it makes me smell completely delicious. On top of all this, it makes me feel really clean, which is after all the main aim of a body wash.
All in all, I am really impressed with this product because it makes my skin feel really soft and smooth, while leaving me smelling delicious and feeling clean. I really can't fault this body wash.
Today I am reviewing the Clean, Girls body wash from soap and glory
I received a mini of this as a gift last Christmas and have been buying it ever since !
Soap and glory is a UK range of cosmetics and body products exclusively available in Boots. The company does not test on animals but tests on ordinary women like us.
This is available is two sizes, the mini 75ml bottle which is £2.35 and the full size which is 500ml and costs £5.87. It is packaged in a clear bottle that has a slight iridescent finish to it which makes it look very pretty.
On the front it tells me that the body wash is designed to be 'Skin softening and creamy' and it says that it contains 'natural vanilla fruit and orchid extracts and BUILT IN MOISTURIZING MATRIX!'
This product does not have the same scent as the traditional soap and glory 'Pink' range but has the scent of mist you madly, their most popular body spray. Personally I think I prefer the scent of mist you madly to the 'pink' line although both scents are gorgeous !
The scent is very flirty and floral and isn't at all heavy which I really like. I think this is a great summer scent as it very light and pretty and it does linger on your skin, especially if you use Mist You Madly as well.
I use this product by getting a dollop of clean, girls and rubbing it on damp skin. It lathers up really nicely and you can smell it in the bathroom for quite a while ! It's really moisturising and leaves my skin feeling soft and lovely smelling !! The scent lingers on my skin for at least 3 hours which is great.
I would really recommend this product, it is a great body wash that lathers up well
I wasn't really into Soap & Glory before, but when my grandma bought me the Clean, Girls body wash along with The Daily Smooth, I was very impressed. I went on the Boots website to find out how much this body wash is, so I know the price if I do want to buy it again. It is £5.87. I think that is a very reasonable price for such a huge bottle of body wash. I compared the price to a tiny tube of plumping lip gloss from Soap & Glory, which is at least £8. So I think this body wash is very reasonably priced.
I use this body wash with a shower scrunchy, and after showering I used The Daily Smooth moisturiser from the same brand, Soap & Glory. I noticed a big difference in my skin after about a week of using the products. Before using these products, my skin was always dry and rough. Now, my skin is noticeably smoother. I'm very pleased with these products and I think they are amazing.
The body wash keeps me smelling fresher for longer, and I really like the smell of it. I have actually had a few people asking me, have you bought a new moisturiser for your skin, what perfume are you wearing? And I just tell them, I don't wear perfume, it's a body wash. And about a week later when I went round to my friend's house, I noticed a full bottle of Clean, Girls in her bathroom.
After finishing Clean, Girls I bought another one because I just couldn't resist it. It's so reasonably priced that I could be buying it for the rest of my life. This is probably the only body wash I'll ever use for a while. I'm so glad I discovered Soap & Glory because they have such great products and I'll probably be buying a lot more things from this brand.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, and I'm now telling you to get over to Boots and buy yourself some Soap & Glory Clean, Girls!
I'm not too fussy when it comes to body wash and shower gels, as long as it smells decent and leaves me feeling clean I'm happy. I'm not even too bothered about them being moisturising as I most often use some form of body moisturiser after showering anyway. The first thing I thought of when I did see this body wash however, was that this product was going to last me a long time. You see it comes in a 500ml bottle and with a pink pump at the top so it's easily dispensed in the shower, and I'm writing this review as I come to almost the end of the bottle after using the product for many months now. It certainly lasted me a long time, but what do I think about the product?
I should point out that this body wash should not be confused with the 'Clean On Me' shower gel that Soap & Glory. Packaged very similarly and carrying out the same purpose it can be easy to do so. Clean, Girls is scent with the 'Mist You Madly' scent by Soap & Glory which has notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and Musk. The scent of this shower gel and whether I like it or not depends on my mood, it's certainly not a weak scent and it is very noticeable in the shower and will linger on the skin for a good while afterwards. I sometimes find myself enjoying the smell of this body wash, but after using it for many months it is quite understandable that I am quite tired of the scent and I am ready to move on to something else! With such a large bottle, you may find yourself alternating with other shower gels for a 'change of scenery' where the scent is concerned.
The body wash is easy to dispense using the pump, I usually pump it a few times onto a puff, and it lathers up easily. It's a decent body wash in all respects, it makes me feel clean, it has a nice enough scent (if not a little too strong and lingering) and it really does the job. A problem I do have however is that the body wash claims to have a built in 'moisturising matrix.' I don't find the body wash any more moisturising than your average shower gel which doesn't claim to do so, and I do still use a moisturiser after showering with this body wash. I probably would wish for it to make skin feel more softer than it does.
The large 500ml bottle costs £5.87 from Boots (although there are always offers on this range) and whilst this is quite pricey for what I would pay for a shower gel, it is a large bottle and it has lasted me many months. This is because a small amount lathers up really well and the pump action stops you from pouring or squeezing out excessive amounts, so you can't say that it's not value for money. Would I buy this one again? Probably not, after using this for such a long time I have become bored with it, and it doesn't feel as luxurious as I would probably expect from the S&G range. It might have a nice scent, but it can be overpowering and does linger around afterwards, causing you to quickly become tired of smelling the same thing. It doesn't make my skin feel any different, there is not enough softening of the skin to make me happy, and it seems to lack any exciting benefits to continue using it.
For Christmas I was really pleased to recieve a Soap & Glory giftset from my Stepfather. Within it I got loads of mini bottles of things from the brand including this shower gel in a small 75ml size though it isnt available to purchase individully at that size and is only available in a 500ml size (in Boots) for £5.11 (although at the time of writing and publishing this review it is on offer to purchase (in Boots) for £3.41 a bottle.
The 500ml size comes in the same looking bottle as my smaller size but with a pump action dispenser to the top of it. Mine though in appearance (as I have said is pretty much the same) however it has a screw on/off lid. I do have to say though that I have had a few products from Soap & Glory with the pump dispenser to them and have found them to drip or completely break and not work on me so I'm not upset this one doesn't have one!
The bottle is see-through and plastic and on the front of it lots of light pink sections with writing on them telling us that it is Soap & Glory 'Clean, Girls' Skin Softening Creamy Body Wash 'With natural extracts of vanilla fruit and orchid extracts, and built in moisturizing matrix!' and the size is stated. On the large bottle that is available to buy there is the usual black and white photograph of a woman on there that Soap & Glory put on most of their products. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes ingredients and warnings being listed, we are told how to use it and contact details for Soap & Glory are given. Nice enough retro packaging that we associate with Soap & Glory this has and I do appreciate being able to see the body wash through the somewhat squeezy bottle so I know when it needs repurchasing...or not...as the case may be!
The Body Wash:
Being a huge fan of 'Clean On Me' Body Wash from Soap & Glory I had huge expectations from this one. With its light pink and runny consistency with a sort of dark pink irradescent hue to it, when I dispensed it onto my ever faithful scrunchy I felt it was the same excellent quality as ,my usual choice!
However the fragrance to me wasn't that great really. Naturally sweet and floral with an undertone of vanilla to it, don't get me wrong it was ok but as not as girly as I usually associate with the brand. This may be more suited for more mature users of the range but for me I just wasn't keen on it really.
It lathered up brilliantly, felt silky and smooth on the skin and not once bit greasy..I was able to shave my bits and pieces with this and with complete ease and it rinsed off simply too.
I found this to leave my skin feeling soft, supple and smooth and I did feel clean after using it to be fair to it and luckily for me as I didn't appreciate the fragrance anyway, thankfully the scent didn't linger on my skin for very long at all!
All in all I wasn't so keen on the body wash sadly though the results were nice on my skin and after using it I didn't feel the need to lather up with body moisturiser! The scent although ok isn't for me and I wouldn't buy myself the larger size in this but stick to 'Clean On Me' in the future cos scent wise (in my opinion) that is far superior.
Available from Boots.

*Calm One Calm All Bubble Bath
and then we have Clean Girls Skin Softening Creamy Body Wash. With the tagline "you might be witty, charming, sassy and fabulous, but there's is nothing quite as nice as being clean girls". This softening body wash doubles up as a moisturising lotion. As well as cleansing the skin, it contains what S&G describe as a "Built in moisturizing matrix!" and also natural vanilla fruit and orchid extracts.
Clean Girls is scented with S&Gs famour Mist You Madly scent. This scent is present in the Daily Smooth Body Butter, Scrum Em And Leave Em Body Scrub and also the body spray and perfume so the scent can be layered on if you so wish to do so. Mist You Madly is offers the scent of blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla, bergamont and musk.
For simple use, Clean Girls is aptly housed within a tall, chunky plastic bottle. The plastic is clear beautifully confirming a thick and pearlescent light pink lotion within. A large, girly pink pump dispenser sits on top of the bottle with no other lid or protection present. Delicate pink and white backing adorns the bottle with a retro lady in shower photo. Black writing confirms the relevant how to use, ingredients etc. The bottle can be recycled and the contents should be used up within 24months of first opening.
Clean Girls is ideal for use in the shower but step away from the water to apply. Once you have damp skin, pump some of this onto your hand or onto a body puff and rub it onto the skin until a lather reveals itself. Rinse and if you feel you need to apply a moisturiser post-shower then feel free to do so!

*~*~*My Clean Girls Experience*~*~*
I adore Soap and Glory and can often be seen scouring that particular display in my local Boots store on a weekly basis! Although quite expensive in comparrison to the likes of Radox and Nivea, the quality, choice and scents they offer are well worth paying for. I often await the 3 for 2 or 1/3off offers making my purchases less painful on my bank balance!
My fiance is well aware of my S&G obsession as it practically hits him in the face everytime he enters our tiny little bathroom! He disappeared up to Boots on Christmas Eve and on Christmas morning, a beautiful parcel (wrapped by his Mum) was under the tree and was from my beautiful son. Inside was a huge bottle of Clean Girls. Ok so his attention to detail wasn't quite right as its Clean On Me Clarifying Lotion I love but I was happy all the same!
The bottle is presented perfectly and captures the pink and girly image that S&G aims for with ease. The pump applicator is ideal for me as it allows me to dispense a sufficient amount of the lotion with no mess or spillages and therefore wastage is very unlikely. The body wash looks very thick and indulgent through the clear plastic and is a little duller compared to Clean On Me but nice all the same. So lets get Clean Girls!
*~*~*Dirty Angel Gets Clean*~*~*
I shower twice a day normally and whilst I prefer bright and awakening shower gels for morning use, I like a relaxing and luxurious, creamy wash for evening use as this is when I love to pamper my skin. I think Clean Girls is more suited for evening use. I apply this using my hand as at the moment I don't have a body puff..I do intend on purchasing one now though.
I step under the shower and ensure my skin is really damp. When using Clean Girls, I refrain from using a body scrub as I don't own the matching scented scrub and the scents would just appear confused on my skin. I allow around 3 firm pumps from the bottle for half my body. If I just sweep a light amount of water over my skin, Clean Girls just doesn't perform well. It won't lather up enough to feel clean so I need to ensure my skin is really, really wet before I step away from the water.
The thickness of Clean Girls promotes a rich and very indulgent appearance and feels creamy as it makes contact with my skin. Its colour lightens up as I begin to massage it onto my skin and although it takes a good few rubs to create a desirable lather, it isn't too much effort.and allows me to feel pampered and pretty! The lather produced isn't startling but plentiful in terms of make me feel clean. The lather is creamy and fluffy and it just feels like I am smothering some beautiful body lotion on with a fluffy, bubbly topping!
I use the body wash all over and notice that it feels more appealing to my dry areas on my arms and knees. Clean Girls is easy to rinse off and standing under the shower for a moment or two is enough to be soap free! Although this body wash has the added moisturising elements, the initial feeling after towelling off is a slight tightness and the first time I used this, I thought a heavy dose of body butter would be needed but thankfully, the smoothness of my skin became apparent after 5minutes. My skin is soft and supple and feels clean which is exactly what I want from something so indulgent! The softness remains throughout the night but if I want extra softness, I add some body butter to make it last longer.
The scent of Clean Girls concerned me at first. Whilst I am a fan of the S&G perfume, I am not overly keen on the Mist You Madly fragrance. It is nice but it can be a bit much. The scent produced by Clean Girls was a true representation of Mist Your Madly but in a more acceptable state. It is relaxing and sensual smelling with the musk, vanilla and magnolia blend together for a sweet and heavy scent. The fruity notes within act as undertones and unlike the scent of Girligo, it isn't fresh and fruity. The blackcurrant is barely dectable and I would have appreciated that pushing through a bit more an providing a lighter aspect to the scent. The scent does last on my skin for a few hours and is quite dark and deep with the musk and vanilla being the longest lasting notes.
*~*~*Would I Convert or Recommend?*~*~*
Whilst my heart stays with the Clarifying Lotion, I was pleased to try Clean Girls. 500ml of Clean Girls will last me a really long time as only a small amount is needed to feel clean and pampered. It adds a softness to my skin and offers a lovely in shower experience. The scent is a matter of personal choice but it isn't offensive in any way, just a bit heavier and muskier than I am used to but I am sure many would appreciate this.
£5.67 may seem expensive but considering my bottle is still 3/4 full after regular use for nearly 2months, I am happy with it but I won't buy it again due to the scent..will drop hints to my fiance about my true love!
Thanks for reading x
I purchased this as part of a 3 for 2 in Boots along with the matching moisturiser the daily smooth. It comes in a 500ml container with a pump dispenser. The container has the usual Soap & Glory 1950's style packaging. The shower gel normally costs £5 but there are offers on in Boots constantly.
The product itself promises to clean and moisturise as it contains a 'moisturising matrix'. The shower gel is scented with 'Mist you madly' which Soap & Glory describe as blackcurrant, magnolia, freesia, vanilla and musk. I find it smells very fruity. When you pump the shower gel out of the dispenser it has a creamy consistency and it looks like it has a hint of shimmer. For best results I would recommend using it with a shower puff or sponge. It lathers really well, you only need a couple of pumps to wash your whole body.
After rinsing I noticed that my skin was soft and felt really moisturised. I found for the best results you should use Daily Smooth moisturiser.
I would recommend this to all the Soap & Glory fans who have yet to try this, or to anyone looking for a luxury shower gel at a reasonable price. If you didn't have the time to moisturise then you could get away without using any! This shower gel lasts me a few months and is great value it also looks really good on the bathroom shelf.
