“ A luxurious shower gel, Soap & Glory has a divine scent and lathers up really well. More expensive than other alternatives, but it shows. „
Ever since I discovered Soap & Glory a couple of years back, I have fell in love with the range and it always the top of my Christmas list for Santa. I was lucky enough to receive the large set last year which contained this.
===Price & availability===
The wash retails for £6 and is available mainly from Boots, both online and in store, what I like about the range is that it is frequently on offer such as 3 for 2 and at this time of year, it is included in a lot of gift sets which also have the same promotion running.
The wash comes in a chunky transparent 500ml bottle which is topped with a pump dispenser. To the back of the bottle is instructions on how to use, they recommend applying a couple of handfuls to you skins and then rubbing in, to be honest, I use in the same way I would any other shower gel, by applying a couple of squirts to a shower puff and then rubbing away. I find that a couple of squirts is sufficient to give me a good clean and work up a good lather, to me, a handful sounds like way too much to use.
One of the main things I love about the Soap and Glory range is its fragrance and this is no different, is smells sweet, fruity, sugary and quite simply delicious. The wash is a pale pink colour and it quite thick, as I mentioned earlier, the wash works up a lovely lather and has quite a luxurious look and feel to it.
After use, I find that my skin is lovely, clean and not only does is smell lovely, so does my bathroom for a good few hours afterwards. The fragrance on my skin stays present for most of the day but best of all, my skin feels so soft after using this, so much so that I could (but I wouldn't) get away without moisturising.
I would definitely recommend this, although there are cheaper versions on the market, a little goes a long way. It gets 5 out of 5 stars.
Although I don't have a lot of money to spend on luxuries, Soap and Glory is something that I do like to buy. Actually it doesn't work out that expensive as it lasts well, but it's more expensive than a supermarket own brand shower gel!
My friend bought me a Soap and Glory gift set quite a few years ago, and this "Clean on Me" shower gel was one of the products in it (and it was a full-sized one too). Although I have tried other similar Soap and Glory shower gels, this one remains my all time favourite!
I bought the bottle I'm using currently in Boots a while back along with two other gels (already reviewed), and having finished them I'm back to my much-loved "Clean on Me". I bought it in the 3 for 2 offer which is regularly on in Boots!
---The packaging and ingredients etc---
I have the 500ml bottle. I do also have a little travel bottle which I take away (and have refilled from my bigger bottle since finishing it) on my holidays.
This comes in the usual gorgeous Soap and Glory pink packaging. - a clear container with a white pump bit on the top. It can be a bit awkward to get it started at first (but I think that's just me!)
'Clean on Me' is described as a 'Clarifying Shower Gel'. It has a black and white photo of a 1950s looking woman peeking out from the shower. Like other Soap and Glory products, there are little bits of text on the bottle, such as "Cleanliness is essential when Godliness is improbable".
'Clean on Me' contains many ingredients (mostly water probably) which I won't list - always check first if you have any skin sensitivities. It also contains instructions for use on the bottle (including turning off the shower whilst applying to avoid it going down the drain).
---Using 'Clean on Me'---
I usually do 3 or 4 little squirts onto my shower puff thingy-do (that's what I call it) - The liquid itself is a very light and pretty pink colour and a nice thick-ish shower gel consistency.
It is very creamy (rather than gel-like!) and lathers up really well and is easy to use. I'm useless at being able to tell what fragrances are in products, but I just absolutely love the smell of this. It does say that it contains natural mandarin peel extract (along with bonus built in body lotion - although I'm not absolutely convinced about this), so perhaps that is it. I suppose it is a more fruity than floral scent. There are definitely a few fruits in there somewhere.
This shower gel leaves me feeling clean and fresh, and my skin feels nice. What more could anyone want really?
I find that these bottles last a good couple of months. It can be a little bit awkward getting the last bit out, but I normally swill it around with water.
"Clean on Me" is my favourite shower gel (although I think that I liked "Clean, Girls" equally). I will certainly continue to purchase this (although will be trying other S & G products along the way) when it's on sale in the 3 for 2 offer in Boots. On its own, 500ml of this costs £6 which isn't really bad for how well it lasts and how lovely it is!
5 out of 5 stars from me!
I first got Clean on Me as part of a Soap & Glory gift set a few years ago and ever since have only used this shower gel.
First time I got Clean on Me, I did find it slightly tricky to open the first time, however, once opened, it has a handy pump action top, which stops you using more than you need (I find one or two "pumps" is more than enough). I find it best to use with a sponge, rather than straight to the skin, to get a better lather.
I love the "girly" smell of Clean on Me and is very fruity and fresh.
Yes, the price tag of £6 for a 500ml bottle can be off-putting, however, I find that one bottle lasts me approx. 6 months (and I shower at least once a day!), much longer than any other shower gel I have used in the past and Boots regularly have 3 for 2 offers throughout the Soap & Glory range.
I decided to get myself a few treats after Christmas in the Boots sale - one being a Soap and Glory gift set that was half price reduced to £8. I've been gradually working my way through all of the products in my treats and have recently used up the last of my travel sized version of the 'Clean on me' shower gel crème that was part of that gift set. The travel sized bottle holds 75ml and costs £2.50 in Boots when purchased separately. It's also available in a larger 500ml bottle for £6. The first thing to point out is that my bottle was absolutely jam packed to the very top and was starting to come out of the bottle as soon as I took the lid off - so no scrimping on their part when filling the bottle up!
The gel is a pearly white colour. It's quite runny in consistency - that's why I personally would say it's more like a cream than a gel - regular shower gels I use are far thicker (normally Radox). Those familiar with Soap and Glory products will probably know that most of their range come with their original pink scent and this is no exception. It smells fairly strong of citrus fruits and the scent lasts for a long time afterwards. I can use the shower gel in the morning and still recognise the scent around lunchtime - something that I've not noticed with many other shower products in the past. To be fair, I would have been disappointed if this hadn't been the case with this one - I think the price is high and for that I expected more from it than the standard ones I'm used to using.
The bottle states to lather up on damp skin and then wash off thoroughly which I do, sometimes using a body buffer sponge and sometimes just by using my hands. It lathers up nicely and I find a little goes a long way. I sometimes find that with travel bottles, I can only get three or four uses before they're gone but with this I've managed to get a weeks worth of showers from it before I've had to start squeezing the last bits out! Afterwards, as well as the scent lasting a long time, I've found that my skin has felt incredibly smooth. My skin took a bit of a hit from being in the Sun a lot on holiday recently - as a result it became quite dry but this helped no end to really moisturise it afterwards, making it feel very soft to touch and silky, so much so the damage from the Sun isn't visible.
The only small downside apart from cost is the packaging. The gel comes in a small screw top bottle - which as I find with anything in the bathroom and beauty is a pain compared to a bottle with a flip top lid - especially with wet hands where I become a complete and utter butter fingers. This is the case with the travel size bottle I have anyway, from the picture on Boots website it seems that the larger bottle has a pump lid which I assume would be a much better design to use while in the shower.
I rate the clean on me shower gel a total of four stars - it's a great product but I've taken one off for the price as I think it's quite expensive even though it's a good product. I'm unsure whether I would buy again - certainly not for use all the time but I would probably buy again for a nice treat for myself every now and again.
Thanks for reading :o)
I seem to be in the minority of people when it comes to this product, but I have to say it is one of my least favourite Soap and Glory products. Sure it has the quintessential Soap and Glory Scent but as far as a shower gel goes I didn't find that it left me feeling as clean as other shower gels.
Soap and Glory are famed for their cute packaging and this product is not exception. It comes in a lovely bottle with a pump and a picture of a very glamourous, retro lady on the front. I found the pump in this to be better than the pump in the Peaches and Clean face wash as it didn't stick unlike the previous product.
This shower gel is marketed as a clarifying shower gel, but I felt that it didn't really deep cleanse my skin, mainly because it didn't lather very well and due to the creamy texture of it. I know this is because it contains a built in body lotion, but truth be told I would rather have a separate shower gel that left me feeling squeaky clean and then apply a separate body lotion.
At £6 it's not the cheapest shower gel in the world, but Soap and Glory products tend to be at the higher end for bath and body products. I would say for those who like this that this is a fair price because the product does last a long time, but for me I wouldn't repurchase.
I first tried this body wash when I received a travel sized version as a gift. Since then I have been using the full size version and it lasts a very long time.
I've been using the standard size for six months now and there's still a third of a bottle left. This is mostly down to a little going a long way and it lathers up into a thick rich foam. The scent is gentle and very pleasant. I think most Soap & Glory products smell good enough to eat!
The bottle itself is sturdy and well designed. The packaging/graphics have a fun, retro flair and the dispensing pump means that instead of having to deal with slippery bottles in the shower you can just leave it on a surface and apply as much as you need to a wash cloth/puff.
I have fairly sensitive skin and this has never caused any kind of reaction. In fact my skin feels smooth, soft and hydrated once I'm dried off which is a major plus. The subtle scent lasts all day and works well with S&G lotions, butters and sprays as they all compliment each other.
Lastly and most importantly, my skin feels really clean and refreshed after I have used this shower gel, there's no residue and it doesn't dry my skin out. I think it's worth every penny and I'm happy to give it 5/5.
I bought a number of Soap & Glory products when Boots were offering extra advantage card points when you spent £50 in store and as I had never tried their shower crème and like the rest of the products I thought it was about time I tried it. The product costs £2.50 for 75mls or £6 for 500mls, as I had never tried it before I opted for the smaller bottle although the bigger bottle is of course better value I think it is still quite expensive compared to products you get in the supermarket.
The bottle is see through plastic which a little screw top lid which I have found after a juggling incident in the shower is easier to replace once I have got dried. On the front of the bottle you have the Clean on me name and on the back of the bottle you have the directions for use along with a couple of warnings such as keeping it away from the eyes and children. I think the bottle is girly and quite pretty and is not one I feel I need to hide in my bathroom.
To use simply undo the lid of the bottle and then wet your body, pour the crème into your hand at which point you can smell a lovely light sweet smell and then lather this up on your body. The crème isn't too thick but is thick enough that it doesn't end up dripping in your bath tub, the crème is pale pink in colour and I have found that it lathers nicely aslong as your body is properly wet. The crème is easy to rinse off your body and it's scent lingers on both your skin and in the bathroom which I like.
I find that my skin feels nice and soft after using this and there is really no need for a moisturiser afterwards, my skin is left lightly scented which is great as I love the smell. I felt like my body was clean after using this product which of course is what it is meant for. I rate this shower crème 4 stars simply because you can buy shower crèmes that are just as nice as it for a fraction of the price and I cannot find anything about it that makes it worth paying the extra for it.
I have become somewhat of a soap and glory addict since Christmas when I was bought a set. I really do love their products. I bought this on a recent trip to boots. I had promised myself I wouldn't buy anything other than the nappies I had gone in for but that didn't last long!
This shower gel was very tempting. It is a normal shower gel but claimed it had a moisture lotion built in which would soften your skin. I suffer from dry skin so love products that help with that and this sounded perfect. I already had some soap and glory moisturizer so thought if I used this in the shower and followed it up with a moisturizer this would help my skin
A you expect with all soap and glory products it has that lovely distinct smell that I now cant resist!
The shower gel comes in a tall plastic bottle it is see through and has a pump dispenser at the top. I like it that the bottle is see through as it makes it really easy to check how much you have left. I found the pump dispenser very useful when you are showering and have slippery hands its much easier than trying to hold a bottle and squeeze the product out.
When I used it for the first time I found that I hardly needed any. It really lathers up well and seemed to absorb well into the skin. The smell was lovely and it stayed around for ages on my skin after I had got out of the shower and got dried.
The shower gel worked even better when I applied it to a shower mitt which was good, it really created a great lather and lots of bubbles which made me feel extra fresh and clean. When I got out of the shower my skin was lovely and soft. I did apply a moisturizer aswell but it probably wasn't necessary my skin certainly didn't feel dry as it sometimes does with other shower gels.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants gorgeous soft skin.
As part of a bumper crop of Soap and Glory products I received for my Birthday last year, one such product was the Soap and Glory 'Clean on Me'. I have had many a good experience of this brand in the past and having not tried this shower gel before I was keen to give it a go.
This shower gel is presented in a translucent plastic bottle which is topped with a pump applicator meaning that it sits neatly on the side of my bath and its sturdy size means that it is unlikely to fall of its perch. The bottle is illustrated with a very girly use of graphics on the pink label which wraps around the body of the bottle including a black and white photo of a lady peaking behind a shower curtain. It also includes such text as "with natural mandarin peel extract and built in body lotion" and "creamy clarifying shower gel" all written in varying font styles and colours which enhance the 1950s feel of the packaging.
The shower gel inside the bottle is a very pale creamy pink and this compliments the overall design of the product in my opinion. Upon first use, I squirted a dollop of shower gel out of the pump and it came out easily in a neat little blob. The shower gel has a medium consistency, rather like that of any other shower gel, however the smell of it really sets this product apart from others in my experience. The smell being rich and fruity with a hint of sweetness which makes this shower gel very definitely feminine and most certainly typical of Soap and Glory.
To use this product, I simply take my everyday water lily which is already damp and pump a small pea sized blob of shower gel into it before rubbing the contents over my skin. I like the way that this product has an in built pump at the top of the bottle meaning that there are no issues with trying to flip open a cap with wet hands. The shower gel foams instantly in my experience and leaves a thick foam which can cover my entire washing area with just one or two pumps of product. After gently massaging this shower gel into my skin I simply rinse it off with a splash of clean water and voila, my skin is left feeling soft and clean with a lovely sweet fragrance. An added bonus of this shower gel is that it leaves my skin feeling nourished and moisturised and does not simply strip the oils out of it. It also means that I do not feel the need to moisturise every time after washing.
As there is 500ml of shower gel in one bottle and I only use a couple of blobs per wash, I have found that I have had several months worth of use from this one product. To give you an idea, I probably started using my shower gel around November time last year and with continued use (with the odd number of days of trying something else) I now have around a cm of shower gel left in the bottle. This is excellent value for money in my opinion and its great results means that I will buy this product again.
A 500ml bottle of 'Clean on Me' is currently selling in Boots for £6. Based on the amount of time my shower gel has lasted, the heavenly smelling results, and the great overall look of the bottle I think this is excellent value for money. As a result of the above this product comes highly recommended and scores a glory inducing five stars from me.
I hope this review has been of some help and thanks for reading! x
I really like Soap & Glory and I am a big fan of their products. I have tried out many of their bath and shower products so I thought it was about time I gave the Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel a go.
What does the product do?
The product promises to cleanse the skin leaving you feeling fresh and clean. It contains an in built body lotion which claims to hydrate the skin leaving it feeling moisturised, soft and smooth. It also contains Manderin Peel Extract to tone and brighten the skin. As an added bonus the shower gel comes fragranced with the Original Pink aroma which has the aroma of citrus fruits, peaches, strawberries and sweet jasmine so you should smell as delicious as your skin feels.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a clear bottle through which you can see the product inside. It has the usual retro pictures on the front and quirky information given on label. It has a pump dispenser which you push down on in order to release the shower gel. The product will cost you around £5 for 500ml of the shower gel. It can be bought from Boots and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
When you pump the bottle, a good amount of the product comes out and it's easy to control. You need a few pumps to get a handful. The product is a pearly white colour which looks really pretty and it has a slightly thicker consistency than you would normally see with a shower gel. You need to apply the product either straight onto damp skin or onto a sponge. You get a better lather when using a sponge and it makes the product last a lot longer but I'm not sure if you get the moisturising benefit as well so I rub it straight onto my skin.
It smells completely delicious and the aroma is fruity and fresh. It smells a lot like the infamous Righteous Body Butter so if you like that then you'll like this. The aroma is really summery and quite sweet and it is right up my street. The aroma is evident throughout the whole washing process which makes using this a lovely experience. It does foam a little on the skin but not a lot. It glides on the skin easily and it has quite a silky consistency. It feels nice on the skin and you can tell it is hydrating and cleansing the skin well.
The product is easily rinsed off the skin and once my skin is dry, it feels lovely and soft, and there is no tightness or dryness at all. It doesn't irritate my skin so it must be quite a gentle formula. It leaves my feeling fresh and clean, and the best bit is that the lovely aroma lingers on my skin for quite a while after use. The product is really long lasting and even after a lot of showers I haven't made a significant dent in my bottle so although it's pricey, you won't need to buy another one for a while.
All in all, this is another lovely product from Soap & Glory. It smells completely delicious and leaves you feeling fresh and clean, and you skin feeling soft and smooth. It is fun to use and the lovely aroma lingers on your skin. A little goes on a long way so your bottle should last you a while. I will definitely be buying another bottle of this lovely shower gel.
Soap & Glory is a well known beauty brand and I for one am a convert! For Christmas every year and usually for my birthday too I get bought Soap & Glory products (the rest of the year its very cheap and cheerful for me!).
I think this was the first Soap & Glory product I tried. It was voted the best shower gel by Company Beauty Awards 2012.
== Packaging ==
It is a clear plastic 500 bottle with a clear plastic pump top lid. It is the same as the picture in this catalogue. It has the black and white retro image of a woman peeking out from behind the shower curtain. The 'Clean on Me' is written in bold white and pink lettering, outlined in black.
It has a box on the front stating 'with natural mandarin peel extract and bonus built in body lotion'.
== My thoughts ==
It is a pale pink liquid which is easy to dispense onto a shower puff. I tend to only use two squirts of this as I find it lathers up nicely. It has a lovely fragrance, which is described on the Soap & Glory website to be their Original Pink Fragrance which is modern, fresh, fruity and citrus. It is Soap & Glory's original fresh, summery fragrance with orange leaf, lemon, peach, sweet strawberries, summer rose, gardenia blooms and jasmine.
It is a very distinctive scent which I love, to be it smells sweet and fresh. This product makes my skin feel soft and smooth. I find it lasts me a long time as so little product is needed.
== Price and Availability ==
It is sold in Boots which is usually where I buy mine and it is priced at £6.00 or 600 Boots Advantage Points. It is often on offers such as buy 3 for 2, which is worth keeping a look out for.
== Overall Summary ==
I would recommend this shower gel, it lasts a long time and makes your skin feel lovely and soft with a gorgeous fragrance.
Thanks for reading.
I was given this as a birthday present in February, at first i was thinking am i really going to like this as i am fussy with my beauty products and wash products. I tried this out and it was such a lovely product i was surprised honestly. It made me feel clean and made me feel great a lot better about myself. Some products a girl can feel better when she uses a product that is a good product and this did that for me. It also cheered me up a bit. Whilst relaxing it felt good on my skin. The only disadvantage to this is i had to use quite a bit meaning that i run out of the product really quick and had to purchase another. This was ok for me to purchase another as it was a reasonable price i had just hoped it would have lasted a little longer. It made my skin feel great and smelt amazing was good on my skin too. It did not irritate my skin at all but it is quite rich in texture and if i had sensitive skin i probably would not have tried it as it is fragranced. The bottle design is catchy and is quite a large bottle considering the low cost. It has quite a glossy feel to the gel and is smooth when on my skin. Scent from the gel does last a while however not the whole day.
I was first introduced to Clean On Me shower gel at Christmas. I had been lusting over it for quite a while so it was a present I was very happy to receive.
The shower gel comes in a large 500ml clear plastic bottle. The bottle design is very girly and very Soap and Glory style, it has a bit of a vintage feel about it and it is very eye catching.
The bottle has lots of pink, white and silver detail and lots of information described in a quirky way which makes you want to pick up the bottle and read it. The shower gel also has a pump dispenser.
The price of Clean On Me is around £5.50 which is a bit pricey, but again, this is a Soap and Glory product so it is expected. Usually you will find Boots has very good offers on when it comes to Soap & Glory so I would recommend you buying from them to make things a little more affordable.
What Soap and Glory say about this product: Soft, smooth, sexy skin whenever you want it. Contains natural mandarin peel extract and a bonus built-in body lotion. Scented with our Original PinkTM fragrance.
Now I love this shower gel, its perfect in every single way. It is moisturising, it has a unique scent and I always feel so fresh and clean after I shower with it. The bottle design makes it very easy to use in the shower, simply press down and you're done, no awkward lid flipping, unscrewing or squeezing.
The texture of the shower gel is one of my favourite things, its really creamy and it doesn't feel like your average shower gel. When I use it I feel like I am rubbing some luxurious moisturiser all over my body, it really softens the skin and I feel like I am being pampered when using it. The shower gel lathers up really nicely too, not in a soapy bubble way, but more in a thick creamy slushy way, the feel of it is really relaxing and enjoyable. The shower gel washes off easily and afterwards you're left with clean and soft skin.
The scent of the shower gel is hard to describe, it has a very fresh feminine smell about it, slightly sweet. The shower gel says it has mandarin peel extract built in but I wouldn't say this is the main scent of Clean On Me. You can smell the mandarin but its very weak and not that noticeable unless you're looking for it.
After showering I find the scent of Clean On Me lingers on the skin for a few hours, my partner has commented quite a few times about how good my skin smells after using it!
I am on my second bottle at the moment and I really think they are worth investing in. I use my Clean On Me shower gel about 3-4 times a week and the bottle seems to last me 2-3 months.
I hope my review was of help, you may also find a similar review on my blog BeautyAdoration.wordpress.com or on my Boots account BeautyAdoration.
Clean On Me SOAP&GLORY Body Wash is a perfect product for people who love sweet smells. I bought it in Boots on offer 3 for 2 together with another two S&G products (reviews later!). I came back home as quick as I could to take a shower with my little treasure. First impression was VERY SWEET, I felt like in a Charlie's Chocolate Factory full of sweets and cakes! I closed my eyes and plunged into a different world... Whole my bathroom smelled with this body wash and after I rinsed all of it I realised my skin was very soft and smelled gorgeous! This body wash lasted for a loooong time, especially that my boyfriend used that too! I had it for a month or even longer, sharing with him and using everyday! Amazing.
Bottle is big and what I love it in is a pump that helps to dispense as much product as you want with only one hand! It's amazing when you shave or need to keep a shower head in your hand.
I think price for this product is reasonable, it's great value. I didn't buy that again yet, because I like to try different things, but would definitely back to this product again soon:)
My sister bought me a wonderful set of Soap & Glory products for my birthday. I was so happy to get 3 different products as I'm too broke at the minute to be able to treat myself to luxury items such as this. One of the products she bought me was the Soap & Glory Clean On Me Body Wash. Soap & Glory products are available from Boots and this one retails at £5.50 for a 500ml bottle.
What really grabs my attention about Soap & Glory products is their packaging. All of the packaging has a vintage look to it but it still manages to be bright and colourful at the same time. The Clean on Me bottle is partly see through plastic while most of the front is covered with a label which has on it the name of the product in large, bold lettering, descriptions of the product, a picture and the Soap & Glory logo. At the top of the bottle is a pump dispenser which I think is a great idea. Overall, this shower gel is one of the nicest looking in my bathroom.
Soap & Glory describe this product as; 'Soft, smooth, sexy skin whenever you want it. Contains natural mandarin peel extract and a bonus built-in body lotion. Scented with our Original Pink fragrance.'
The gel is extremely easy to get out of the bottle. Due to the pump dispenser at the top of the bottle, I find this much easier to use while in the shower. Other bottles that have the liquid come out of the bottom are often hard to open with wet hands but not this one. I pump the liquid straight onto my fluff ball thingy. You only need about two squirts too before the lovely, creamy liquid lathers up fast. With this amount, my fluff ball was full of luxurious bubbles and it smelt wonderful. This product has a mix of strawberry, vanilla and mandarin as well as a whole other range of things. Due to all of the fruity scents, this is extremely feminine but I love it.
On my skin, this felt even nicer than when it was lathering up. Clean on Me made my skin feel incredibly soft and smooth which is probably due to the added body lotion. I wouldn't say that I would substitute my normal body butter but it does do a pretty good job of cleaning and moisturising at the same time. At £5.50, I wouldn't buy this all of the time but it would be a nice treat now and again for myself.
