Advantages: Lovely scent, effective scrub, heating sensation

Disadvantages: Didn't last that long

I really like the Soap & Glory scrubs I've tried, and was excited about the latest one, the Some Like It Hot scrub. This seemed to be a bit unusual, and I was looking forward to using it.

The scrub comes in a grey tube with a pink flip-top lid on which it stands. Though the tube isn't see through, if you hold it up to the light you can just about see how much you have left. It contains two different sugars, vanilla seeds and white sand grains to exfoliate, as well as macadamia oil to moisturise and aloe vera to soothe skin. The unique selling point of the product is the presence of 'Therminerals' - the scrub is designed to heat up when you rub it into your skin.

The tube instructs you to shake it before use and massage a plum size dollop of Some Like It Hot onto damp skin. Rub until the heat wears off and then rinse. I found that a plum size dollop was a bit too much, and I used four much smaller bits to scrub each of my legs and arms. I also used a little on my thighs and bum, but concentrated on my elbows, arms and lower legs.

The scrub was a very pale pink in colour, and had a pleasant sweet scent. It wasn't too thick and therefore was easy to get out of the tube, except towards the end when I had to cut it open. I squeezed some onto the palm of my hand and rubbed it into my skin. The sensation of warmth was immediate and pleasant but only lasted a few seconds. The scrub itself did the job: it exfoliated well and my skin felt soft and smooth after use.

I did find that the scrub got used up fairly quickly. I seemed to use a good amount at once, so it didn't last as long as I had hoped.

Overall, this is a good scrub and the warming sensation is pleasant and unusual, particularly in the colder weather. It isn't my favourite Soap & Glory scrub, but it's something I do like.
