Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser
Advantages: Smells wonderful, does exactly what it says, long lasting for a small tube, easy to use
The reason why I am such a big fan of the Soap & Glory range is because of their large selection of products which ranges from shower gels and bath foams to lip glosses, hair products and creams for most parts of the body including scrubs, moisturising and exfoliating creams. One of the main reasons I like the products from this range is purely for the lovely packaging which has changed slightly over recent months I have noticed but it became known for it kitsch looking bottles which are a dusty pink colour and the pictured a black and white 1950s style image which drew the air when browsing the shelves. The other reason I like this brand, other than them all smelling wonderful is that they are sold at high street prices, so whilst waiting for your pay packet, you ca still afford to look and smell like a goddess for a reasonable price. Being sold at high street prices also means that these products are widely available in shops like Boots and Harvey Nichols mainly. The Soap & Glory range is also not tested on animals and more information can be found on the homepage.
So in my local Boots store, which is literally a 3 minute walk away from where I live? This time I was tempted by a new Soap & Glory product called The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser which comes with a free Muslin Cloth and is marketed as being "a natural all-in-one cleanse, polish and skin smoothing cream". I liked the sound of the product and what it was meant to achieve.
The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser which arrives in a 100ml tube and packaged inside a dusty pink coloured box is silver coloured with a startling devil red screw on and off lid. So it does stand out immediately on the shelf. Sketched right across the front of the tube in red lettering are the words "Fab", "Pore" and "Hot" in bright red lettering and then in an icy blue colour is the word "Cleanser" which definitely draws the eye. The rest of the lettering on the tube and indeed the box relate to the ingredients contained within the cream. To look at this tube is quite large in size and at a cost of £9 for 100ml it is slightly expensive but in keeping with the price you would expect to be paying for a product of this nature and you do get a very good quality muslin cloth for free, which to buy on the high street would be an extra £3-5 I am told.
Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser is designed to cleanse and smooth your skin whilst unblocking pores to remove excess dirt and oil from beneath the skins surface leaving you with soft smooth skin. The use of the muslin cloth helps clean the skin and remove the excess dirt and oil away from the surface.
Like many products in this range, it features a screw on and off lid which is really easy to remove and replace even if your hands happen to be wet from washing your face prior to using this product. Once the lid is removed and you have squeezed some of this predict onto your hand you will see a slightly pink but predominately white coloured cream and it is really quite soft to rub between the pads of your fingers but it does smell very much like a Soap & Glory product with the familiar smell most seem to have and that is why I like their product range because I like the smell and this product is slightly stronger smelling than other products, such as Hand Food, that I use quite a lot.
With the ingredients firstly there is quite a mix infused within this cream which help to clean, cleanse, soften and smooth the skin. Starting with lavender Oil which is best known for promoting relaxation and calmness and on the skin lavender oil is useful for all types of skin problems such as acne and oily skin. That is followed by Orange Oil which promotes warmth and happiness whilst at the same time helping to detoxify congested skin to help remove impurities. Clary Sage is particularly good for balancing the production of sebum from the skin and to clear greasy complexions and rose geranium oil the last of this products essential oils like Clary Sage balances the production of sebum in the skin, while keeping it supple whilst at the same time it works well with the orange oil to list spirits whilst relieving anxiety and stress. Almond Oil is used for softening and smoothing the skin and it also helps the skin to balance its loss and absorption of moisture by protecting its surface. Then there is Coconut which like almond oil is absorbed quickly into the skin leaving it feeling moisturised, soft and supple. Finally there is Cocoa Butter which is used in a variety of products because it helps soften and moisturise the skin and it also hosts a number of benefits for the skin because it is high in Vitamin E and it also helps to soften and lubricate the skin.
When I used this product for the first time I wasn't too sure what to expect if I am being honest and having read the tube over and over again looking for some sort of explanation on how best to use it all you need to do is squeeze a smallish sized blob onto the pads of your fingertips and massage it on your face and neck for at least 1-2 minutes to allow the cream to start work on your skin and when I use it I concentrate on my troublesome spots which is mainly the T-zone and my cheeks to make sure they are properly cleaned. Then once that allotted time is up, you need to remove the excess cream from your skin using the free muslin cloth which I soak in really hot water because by the time it comes round for me to use the cloth, the water has cooled down slightly and I can then comfortably wipe my face clean. Then afterwards for a few minutes, especially if I am in the bath, I lay back and leave the warm muslin cloth over my face for a few minutes to allow the steam to open up my pores a little more.
Once I had finished I patted my face dry and was pleasantly surprised to find that my skin was not only left smelling rather lovely of Cocoa Butter and oranges. I also noticed that where the pores on my nose had become quite blocked and a few blackheads has started to appear rather gruesomely and this product actually removed them from my skin and also dealt with the dry patch of skin on my left cheek which had begun to annoy me, instead in its place I had lovely soft, smooth glowing skin. I have since been using it twice a week, once during the middle of the weekend and at the weekend and my skin is much clearer and much cleaner and although the tube only contains 100ml it does last for 8-12 weeks I would estimate given that I am a third of the way through the tube after only 4 weeks.
This product is one that I would recommend this to anyone wanting to swap your old trusty creams for something new and exciting. It's something I would definitely buy again without a doubt and I think the price of £9 is definitely worth paying for the softness of the skin and it is much cheaper than a facial at my local beauty salon which offers a similar treatment for £49 so that should keep my bank manager smiling for now!
Oh and it is also on the 3 for 2 offer right now!
