=== Introduction: ===
In recent years, Superdrug has been creating and releasing its own brand of body ‘treats’ – face washes, body lotions and shower gels. This is a review for their Strawberry and Raspberry shower gel.
=== Smell: ===
As the name of the bottle suggests, it is Strawberry and Raspberry ‘flavoured’. The smell is very sweet, and you can definitely smell each of the flavours quite strongly, but it’s not overpowering like some body washes can be.
=== Application: ===
Like all body washes, this is down to personal preferences, you can use your hands to rub it into a lather, or use a body puff or sponge. I personally prefer to use a body puff as it helps the wash to lather up well. Then just wash yourself as normal, that’s all there is to it!
=== Results: ===
I have found this stuff to leave a lovely refreshing smell on the skin after use; this doesn’t last too long, which is a shame, because it smells really nice. It doesn’t irritate my skin, which is nice, because I have really sensitive skin! I have found that it leaves me feeling clean, and it doesn’t leave a residue on my skin after use either. I have also found that a little bit goes a long way with this product, which means it lasts for a while. A 75ml bottle lasts me about 7 or 8 uses when used with a body puff.
=== Price and Availability: ===
As this is a Superdrug own brand product, it is only available at Superdrug stores. It comes in only 75ml bottles, which is perfect for travelling! At the moment, it costs £1.05. There is a deal currently on at Superdrug – 3 travel sized bottles for £3.
=== Overall Opinion: ===
I really like this shower gel. It smells great; it’s quite cheap and lasts for a long time, and leaves my skin refreshed! Highly recommended!

I was looking in Superdrug at what bargains I could buy yesterday and a few body washes on offer caught my eye and I was stuck weather to get this one or a different one but in the end I bought this one which I paid 98p for. The smell was amazing and I love berry scented soaps, perfumes, washes. The colour is bright and eye popping. So this morning when I went in the shower I gave it a try, next time I should remember to use less product. It lathers great on my bath lily and the consistency was quite gloopy. it didn't smell the same as in the bottle when I was rubbing it into the lily and it put me off a bit but when I used it on my skin it smelt the same as the bottle phew that's good. It left my skin feeling smooth but the scent didn't stay long, not even an hour. overall I like this product and would buy it again.
When going on holiday you always have to be aware of the restrictions regarding the amount of liquid you're allowed to take on a plane in your hand luggage, or if you're like me, the amount of weight that you're allowed for your hold luggage. So when I noticed that Superdrug had a deal on with they're travel sized bottles of shower gel and deoderants I thought I'd give their Strawberry and Raspberry Shower Gel a go.
It comes in a handy sized 75ml plastic, squeezeable, bottle with a screw top lid, which also has a flip top so that you don't have to mess around unscrewing the whole cap when you want to use it, an added bonus when you've got water running down your face and shampoo in your eyes and you can't see to unscrew it. Once you open the bottle you are hit with the intense fruity smell of strawberries and raspberries. The gel is quite thick and a little produces a really good lather and the smell seems to intensify when it's added to water. It really gives you a wake up call in a morning. The lather washes away quite easily and leaves my skin feeling soft and with a hint of strawberries.
All in all this is a great shower gel, if a little expensive, you can get a large bottle for not much more than the travel sized one. But then again, what I often do is, I buy the travel sized bottle and the larger bottle as well and then when the travel sized bottle is empty when I come home from holiday, I just fill it up again and re-use the bottle. It saves me money on buying a new bottle everytime I go on holiday.
Whilst I usually use Imperial Leather shower gels, once in a while I like a change. Going on holiday is the perfect time to try something new, especially because of the 100ml liquid restriction when flying. A while ago I bought a few travel-size Superdrug shower gels, including this Strawberry and Raspberry 'flavour'.
This review is about the travel-size product so whilst the packaging is different to the normal-size variant, the gel itself is the same.
The travel-size gel comes in a 75ml bottle which costs £1. This is hideously overpriced but, sadly, when it comes to buying travel-sized products companies have us over a barrel: now we can't take large bottles in carry-on there are often times when we have no choice but to pay out.
The good news is that the product comes in a sturdy clear plastic bottle with a black, snap-top lid. The lid unit actually unscrews from the bottle, an unusual and very welcome feature as it means the bottle can be refilled. When I'm travelling I often run out of shower gel and a refillable bottle allows me to wash out any residue and refill the bottle with whatever my hotel provides, or a cheap gel I've been able to pick up locally.
The gel has a deep red colour and truly smells of both strawberries and raspberries. The scent is very strong and very sweet, so it would not appeal to everybody. The bottle states that the gel contains natural extracts of both fruit so the smell is authentic.
The bottle also claims the gel is soap-free, pH balanced and contains added skin conditioners.
I've now used this gel on several occasions and I love it! When I'm travelling I often have to get up at "stupid o'clock" to make flights or meet commitments so a strong-smelling, fruity shower gel is perfect for waking me up. The gel lathers up very well and feels lovely when used. The smell lingers for a good while after use, which again, suits me well.
Whilst I wouldn't want to use this gel regularly, the strong, fruity smell is now firmly linked to holidays and sunny climes. If I need a boost, or something to help me wake up in the morning, this shower gel is perfect.
I shop in Superdrug every now and again and I've recently treated myself to some of their own range Strawberry and Raspberry Shower gel. It sounded nice and I had a little sniff before I made my purchase just to make sure I liked the smell. This is from the Superdrug Original Source range and I have used a few other products in this same range before and really liked them. I also like anything fruity for baths or showers so this seemed right up my street.
The bottle is fairly plain and simple and as it's almost clear, it also allows me to see the pink coloured contents inside. I'm impressed by Superdrug's claim on the bottle too - "100% happiness guaranteed!" I use this shower gel alongside my body puff, as I always find that using a puff helps to increase the lather and makes the gel go much further.
The first thing I noticed about this shower gel is the gorgeous smell. It really does smell of fresh fruity strawberries and raspberries. According to the bottle, this product also claims to contain actual extract of strawberry and raspberry and it's also soap free, so potentially it's going to be less drying for my skin, too.
The shower gel foamed and lathered incredibly quickly and it felt deliciously soft and smooth on my skin,. The smell seemed to intensify with the heat of the shower and it rinsed off well.
I was slightly disappointed that the lush fruity smell didn't linger on my skin for very long afterwards. It lasted possibly about half and hour and then just seemed to fade away.
My skin felt nicely soft and well moisturised and hydrated afterwards, though Superdrug make no claims to this being one of the benefits of using this product. A little of this product most definitely goes a very log way and I've had loads of showers with this gel to date and I still have over half of the bottle left.
It costs only £1 for a 250ml sized bottle so I consider this to be excellent value for money. I don't think it's made me "100% happy" though, so, sorry Superdrug, you only get 4 stars for this shower gel!
I do love a good fruity smelling shower gel, soap or bubble bath so when we saw this in Superdrug I couldn't resist buying it. It smelt really lovely and although my bathroom cupboards are bursting with fruity things I thought one more wouldn't go amiss!
It doesn't look very special I have to admit, the bottle is quite short and wide and the lid is black. It doesn't look very luxurious and isn't the kind of bottle you'd have on display really. It is see through so you can see the shower gel inside but the gel itself isn't see through so the sun won't shine through it on a shelf.
It is strawberry and raspberry flavour. It is a very sweet and fruity smell, as soon as I flip the lid up the smell hits me and it's really nice and does make my mouth water, it does make me want to have a fruit smoothie or something, it really is a lovely smell. It is quite a runny shower gel compared to some other brands and it lathers up really well so a little bit does go a long way. It is easy to get out of the bottle too with it being quite runny.
The effect is that my skin feels nicely washed and clean and the smell lingers for a while in a nice, fruity way without being too obvious. I really like this. I don't think it's anything special, it doesn't really stand out against other brands to look at but it does the job well and I really like the smell so can't fault it really.
I love the Original Source range and often buy it when its on offer, however I was shopping in my local Superdrug just before Christmas and noticed that they now do their own range similar to Original Source but cheaper. I'm not sure if this is a new range or if I have just missed it on the shelf. I bought a couple of them one of which was Strawberry and Raspberry, I love the fruity ones in the Original Source range so I was keen to try Superdrugs equivalent.
The Strawberry and Raspberry Shower Gel is sold in a clear plastic rounded bottle ( slightly different to the one Dooyoo are showing) allowing you to see the bright pink gel inside, I always like clear bottles so I can see how much product is left. The shower gel has a simple black flip top lid which is flat allowing you to stand the bottle up.
The front of the bottle has the Superdrug logo, a little silver star, and states that the Strawberry and Raspberry shower gel is "Cleansing and revitalising with a boost of luscious strawberry and raspberry". The label also shows a picture of strawberries and raspberries and informs the customer that the shower gel will give 100% happiness guaranteed!
The back if the label gives the ingredients, directions for use, safety advice and a small paragraph about the gel, it also states that this shower gel contains natural strawberry and raspberry extracts, has added skin conditioners, is PH balanced and soap free.
The shower gel has quite a thick gloopy consistency and smells delicious, it has a lovely natural fresh strawberry and raspberry fragrance which is both sweet and summery, its a lovely combination that smells really fresh and natural.
I always use a body puff in the shower or bath and I found the gel stayed on there without running off before I could use it and the bottle is easy to flip open with one hand even when wet. A little of the gel goes a long way and creates a lovely rich thick lather which leaves my skin smelling and feeling really fresh and clean.
Although the shower gel doesn't claim to be moisturising I did find my skin felt quite soft after using it, I could also smell it faintly on my skin for a few hours afterwards too. I can be a bit funny with some bath and shower products they sometimes make my hands a bit itchy but I had no problems using this at all.
Strawberry and Raspberry is in my opinion more of a girly fragrance but this may just be because my husband wouldn't use it.
I have been really pleased with the Superdrug Strawberry and Raspberry Shower Gel, at just 99p for a 250ml bottle its good value for money considering a bottle of Original Source shower gel of the same size will set you back more than double that, it smells gorgeous, really fresh, fruity and summery and leaves my skin feeling soft, fresh and clean. When compared to more expensive brands I would say this one from Superdrug stands up very well and I would certainly recommend trying it.
I bought this on a superdrug promotion where it was 2 bottles for £2. I decided upon this just because of the bright colour. Just thought apart from anything else it would brighten up my bathroom (which incidentally it does!)
It comes in a bottle a bit different to the one in the picture - the hole is at the bottom of the bottle (so all writing is the other way up) making it easier to get the last out of the bottle at the end of use. It's made of relatively flexible plastic, which again makes it easier to squeeze the dregs out.
When using, I have found it to smell absolutely fantastic - though it is very very sweet, so if you are aversed to smelling like candy then avoid this shower gel. I however found it a pleasant smell which does linger after the shower for a bit (though not as long as I would have liked, probably only as long as it takes for my skin to completely dry which is a little disappointing). I have also found this product to be a bit on the runny side - this means that there is a bit of wastage every time I use it, which is not ideal and isn't really very cost effective. However, this is the first bottle I have bought, so I don't know whether the consistency is batch specific. Just be wary of this in case...
The price is very reasonable, especially superdrug own brand are nearly always on offer. It smells just as good as a branded product and lasts just as long. Only things to watch are the sweetness of the scent and the consistency.

The product is made by Superdrug so can only be purchased from Superdrug stores or from their website. The product is a shower gel which has a boost of luscious strawberry and raspberry. The product contains natural strawberry extracts with added skin conditioners. The product is also soap free and pH balanced. According to the product it claims to have an uplifting, fruity aroma to help you feel clean, fresh and energised for the day ahead. The shower gel comes in a tall plastic bottle which sits on its black lid which simply flips open to dispense some of the product. At first I thought the bottle was a deep pink colour, how-ever I soon realised that this is the colour of the actual product. The bottle is made from clear plastic and you can clearly see the deep pink colour of the shower gel inside the bottle. On the front of the bottle is a small picture which has strawberries and raspberries on, and it also states that the shower gel is Strawberry & Raspberry. On the top on the bottle it states that the product is a shower gel and it has the Superdrug star logo on so you can tell this is Superdrug's own brand. On the back of the bottle it tells you how to use the product and also lists care and safety advice. You can also find a list of ingredients on the back as well.

I purchased this from my local Superdrug store for just 89p which is for 250ml of product. You can also purchase this from the Superdrug website for 62p; how-ever I'm not sure what size this bottle is as I can't seem to find the information about it. As the product was only 89p I wasn't going to complain about the price anyway and this is the only reason I decided to try it as it was so cheap and it also caught my eye as I was queuing to pay. They did have different scents of shower products in the same range; how-ever I can't seem to find these on the website.
Using the Product

Before using the actual product I flipped open the lid and smelt the actual product by squeezing the bottle a little to let some of the air out. The shower gel smells really, really fruity and doesn't smell like a fake fruity smell. I got under the shower and ensured my skin was wet before applying the product. I then flipped open the lid and squeezed the bottle to dispense a small amount onto a body puff. The colour of the body wash is quite a bright pinkish red colour. I started to rub the body puff over my body which started to create a lather. I continued to rub this over the rest of my body and the sweet, fruity smell started to appear and was quite strong. The smell was nice and smelt really fruity but not too fake. The lather was really soft against my skin and I noticed it was a light pink colour and the white body puff was also a light pink colour now. I got back under the shower and rinsed the product off, as soon as I did this the smell disappeared and there was no longer a lovely fruity smell. The lather rinsed off easily when standing under the shower. My white body puff rinsed off easily and became white again.
I got out of the shower and patted my skin dry to help lock in some moisture. I was expecting my skint to smell slightly fruity from the product how-ever there was no smell at all. There was in fact no trace of the smell of the product at all. My felt really clean, how-ever I wouldn't have said the product made my skin feel any softer than it had done before. I have sensitive skin and the product didn't irritate my skin or dry it out which was good.

The product smells really nice and is lovely and fruity how-ever the smell does disappear as soon as you rinse off under the shower which I was a little disappointed by as I would have liked a slight scent of the product to stay on my skin. I did find the product a bit of an odd colour as it was very bright pinkish/red colour. I was also quite surprised that the lather was also a light pink colour due to the colour of the product. I did feel clean after using the product; how-ever it didn't make any difference to the feeling of my skin. In terms of value I can't really complain as it was very cheap and as its Superdrug own brand I didn't really expect too much from it in the first place. This is a good body wash to make you feel clean and is cheap to buy but don't expect anything more from this product than that. I recommend this product if you do just literally want a product to wash with and to feel clean.
