I seen this in Poundland and just had to buy it and try it out and see what it was going to be like as I was so curious to see what a Tango shower gel would be like. I was hoping that it was going to be a strong orange smell with hopefully some spiciness in it and as it was only a pound I thought even if I didn’t like it then it wouldn’t matter because it was so cheap.
I liked the design of the bottle and it is certainly eye catching. I think the bottle looks quite masculine even though the shower gel is definitely unisex.
The gel is a bright orange and is thick and it lathers up well in the shower. It cleaned my skin well and it wasn’t too drying though it wasn’t very gentle and my skin felt it was getting a good scrub clean. I did notice that my skin was a bit itchy afterwards but only slightly and there was no redness or anything.
Unfortunately the smell of this was just really unappealing to me. It smells of oranges but it is so artificial and sickly smelling that it wasn’t enjoyable at all. It actually did smell like Tango which is an ok smell for a drink but not something that I want to shower in. It smells sort of like Tango that has been left in the sun you know that really sickly sweet vaguely orange smell. It just wasn’t a nice smell and I only used it the once because I just really didn’t like it.
I can imagine that this will appeal to kids and teenagers more than adults. I was curious about the novelty factor of this and wanted to try it out and because it was cheap I wasn’t worried about if I liked it or not since it wasn’t costing me much. Lucky it was cheap because had I paid anymore money for it I would have been annoyed but I am still glad that I tried it because it really did pique my curiosity when I saw it.
When I saw this shower gel on the shelf in B&M I couldn't wait to try it, I don't like Tango as a drink but do love citrus shower products so for a quid I thought I'd give it a go - for some reason I was expecting luxury, I'm not sure why as Tango hardly makes me think of decadent times!
I was disappointed from the very first use, my teenage daughters shared the bottle with me as I put it in the top shower room which we all use - of the three of us, Charlotte and I hated it but Alice thought it was 'okay' (at fifteen she doesn't really care what she showers in as long as it's quick).
The smell is very similar to the Tango pop but as it's a shower gel and not a fizzy drink that kind of falls flat - in both ways. It smells like Tango that has been left in a warm place for 24 hours is the best way of describing it, there's nothing citrus or zingy about the fragrance and in all honesty it just smells nasty.
The bubbles are there but nothing to write home about, the best thing about the shower gel is the colour actually as it's a vibrant modern orange - unfortunately as soon as you start washing with it the colour disappears and you're left with a pretty rubbish product.
It gets me clean, don't get me wrong, but everything about this shower gel screams 'cheap' - it's not nice to use, the smell is vile, the bubbles appear and disappear within seconds as you wash (not to mention the fact you have to use a quarter of a bottle to get any bubbles in the first place!).
I couldn't wait for it to be used up so I could go back to the few more luxurious shower gels I've acquired recently, it's not a bad enough shower gel that I'd waste it but it got to the point where I was deliberately using more than I needed just so I could chuck the empty bottle in the end as I very quickly got sick of the sight of it once I'd realised how rubbish it was!
Not recommended, even at the cheap price I paid. I'd rather use something that feels nicer to use and has a better fragrance, as a novelty product I suppose it's not to bad but I can't think that Tango is really popular enough these days to have a shower gel made in its image...
I was recently given a bottle of this Orange Tango Shower Gel by a friend to try. When using it the gel was not sticky or runny and only a small amount of the gel was needed as it foamed very well. My skin was left feeling really clean, and like all citrus based scents it left me feeling wide awake (I guess that is the invigorating explosion).
With only a small amount needed for each wash, it goes along way so I guess it woud be better value for money than some other brands.
Unlike other orange shower gels this had a very distinctive artificial "fizzy" scent (very similar to Tango) which would put me off purchasing further bottles for myself. However, it is a very good idea for teenagers who are "scared" of washing and would be attracted by the very eye catching with a detonator suggesting an explosion of orange!
I bought this product recently because it was on offer. I have to say I am usually lead by price when it comes to shower gel but I always go for the fruity options rather than the herbal/creamy shower gels.
To start off with, it smells amazing. I love any shower gel that smells fruity and fresh. It reminds me of summer and I like the smell to stay in the bathroom after it has been used.
However, once you have got out of the shower the smell starts to disappear... Usually I like the fact that I am left with fresh and fruity smelling skin whereas this didn't leave any trace.
It is a bit of a disappointment to be left with nothing when you get such an initial burst of freshness when it is first opened. The was what made up my mind to buying this product as I always have a sniff in the shop!
I would definitely not buy this again even if it was one of the cheaper options.
this is a must in my house family of 5. it goes alot further then a few others we have tried so it has value for money on its side to, wwhich helps it to stand out over the many others i have brought, smell to die for, and kids love the colours an it is very gentle on the skin clear packaging and stands out with the eye catching design so i would recommend 100%
As a family of five I find space is limited so if I can replace many purchases with just one I will do so and for shower gels we only now buy this as it's great for all. I have 3 sons under 8 and none are keen lovers of hygiene but with this product the vibrant colour and well known name as well as the tantilising smell entices even my sons to actually want to wash! The bottle is large and for the 5 of us showering every day it will last around a fortnight which I think it absolutely brilliant and unlike many others that we have tried.
There is a full range of the tango shower gels but this frangrence is our favourite and the one that we stick with. Available in all supermarkets and department stores it is easily accessible and priced perfectly right, very happy with this find.
Fresh and invigorating! Just what you need in a shower gel. This product is a great buy for anyone, it smells good and it does exactly what you want a shower gel to do. I swear by it most mornings. I have been using it for about 3 weeks after I bought it on amazon because I felt like trying something new.
The packaging is strong and the branding makes you feel like you want to buy the product as it looks like the type of product that you want instantly, as it has the cool tango appeal. After a while you might think it looks a bit cheap and not as good as more luxury items but it is still worth trying.
I would recommend this product as when you have used it you step out of the shower feeling fresh and clean, it is exactly what you need on these cold winter mornings!!
The product is relatively cheap so it is well worth the cost, and a small pea sized amount goes a long way so it will last you.
I think this is a must buy product for anyone.
I often pop into poundland when I'm in town, and one of my latest purchases has been this Tango Invigorating Shower gel, which comes in Orange, Apple, and Cherry varieties, with each containing Aloe Vera.
I was attracted by the very vibrant packaging - a clear plastic bottle with a nice black lid, and a black and pinkish red label - the colours are the same you'd expect to see on a can. The bottle allows you to see how much gel (which is a vibrant red) you have left, and has handy finger indentations in the side making the bottle easy to grip even with wet hands. It also comes with a handy flip top lid which can be opened with just a quick flick of the thumb.
The gel is easy to dispense - it's probably a touch more watery than I was expecting, but no so runny as to mean I end up with it going everywhere or with too much in my hands. It has a very strong cherry scent - it's a little artificial perhaps, but I still like it.
It lathers up nicely, with a fair amount of bubbles, and feels really gentle and soft on the skin. Rinsing off is easy, and it leaves a very light cherry fragrance behind on the skin, though this is quick to fade which is a little disappointing.
My skin feels soft and clean after this, though I have to confess I haven't really felt 'invigorated' any more than I normally would after a shower.
Overall, for the cost of a pound, there is nothing to moan about - it gets me clean, smells nice, and doesn't irritate my skin. I wish perhaps the scent lingered on the skin longer, but that's only a small niggle, and certainly not enough to stop me buying this again. 4 stars.
It's been a while since I tasted Tango. Imagine my surprise when I saw my favourite childhood drink had morphed into a shower gel! Having been hit by strange orangeade cravings since morning, glimpsing a big fat bottle of it on sale for 99p was like all my Christmases come at once.
So how does it work? It suds up very quickly with a tiny amount of gel. Given that it comes in a hefty - but pretty ergonomic - 400ml bottle, it can really go the distance.
The formula feels really cleansing on the skin, and the citrusy, somewhere-between-Tango-the drink-and-natural-orange-essential-oil scent just adds to that. By the way, the citrus burst you get once it hits the water in a hot, steamy bathroom is just delicious. You can almost drink it in the air.
It has added aloe vera, but it's not super-hydrating. Then again, it doesn't dry out your skin, either. It just leaves it feeling super-refreshed with a delicate, tangy fragrance. I used it at night and I could still smell the same light, fresh scent when I woke up.
And it's an all-rounder: I grabbed it in desperation when I ran out of shampoo and - to my eternal surprise - it didn't dry out my hair, or leave an icky residue. Just as gently and efficiently cleansing as it was on my skin, with the same fresh scent.
Putting this fizzy drink in a shower gel was an excellent crossover idea. I wish they made a body lotion version so I could smell like Tango all day.
Whilst browsing around Pound land my other half spotted this shower gel. You can get the tango shower gel in 4 scents, orange, lemon, cherry and apple. We opted for the orange flavour. I was a bit dubious as I thought it was a bit of a gimmick but went for it to keep the man happy.
The shower gel comes in a bottle which has curved edges making it easy to hold, grip and squeeze out the gel when you are in the shower with no slipping or sliding.
The best way to describe the scent of this product is the smell of orange jelly. It smells very artificial and exactly like jelly cubes. Although it is not a fragrance I would normally go for or particularly like I do think it would be a good shower gel to use in the mornings to give your senses a bit of a boost.
When applying the shower gel onto the skin it feels a bit slimy and takes a little bit of work to get it into a decent enough lather. However when it does lather it feels nice against your skin and quite moisturising. This is due to the aloe vera.
I also found that because the shower gel didn't lather easily I was using more than I would do normally making the shower gel less cost effective for my personal needs.
After washing the shower gel off and getting out of the shower the smell just seems to completely vanish. I can't smell any trace of it on my skin whatsoever. My skin still feels soft but no orange scent remains. I was not particularly fussed about that as I much prefer the scent of my various lotions and potions that I apply after the shower anyway.
As I mentioned previously we brought this from Pound land yes it was a pound. I do not think I would buy this again as I think there are better shower gels that are available. Despite the shower gel being quite moisturising it just isn't enough to make me repurchase.
I bought this for my boyfriend as a bag filler for his birthday, it was meant to be more of a joke but has turned into a tradition. HE LOVED IT! He is a big fan of Tango, so it was supposed to be a joke, but he decided to use it and it smells divine! Just like a real can of Tango! We were both so astonished by it, plus it cleans really well and doesn't leave greasy feel to the skin. And isn't too bubbly, the smell is neither masculine or feminine, so we can both use it, which is handy in a rush! It is now in the regular shopping basket when we run out, because we both love it so much, and the smell of the soap lasts all day, so you can smell nice and feel refreshed all day long, which is fantastic in my eyes!
Upon seeing this product in the shop at £1 i always wondered what it would be like. Everytime i walked past it on the shelf i'd smell the various flavours and say how strong they smelt and how good it would be to smell that good after getting out the shower/bath but never actually proceeded to buy one. I actually received this product after asking my boyfriend to grab some shower gel on the way home from work and he turned up with the apple version of this! (I LOVEEEEE APPLE!) I was actually really excited to try this as the anticipation had built up for so long and i just hadn't got round to getting some. It was one of those products that you see but you just never buy for some unknown reason. However, after actually using this product i hate to say that it really was an anti climax. The shower gel has a jelly like feel to it and doesn't actually sink into your skin - rather just sit on it. I feel like this product doesn't really foam up or give suds and mainly CLEAN! Like you would expect a shower gel would. I was very disappointed as i had high hopes for this product. I have since tried all the other flavours to see if the quality differed between flavours but unfortunately they were all the same. As much as i wanted it to, this product really didn't work for me. However, in future i might just spend the pound to get it for the smell!
I was out shopping when i noticed this tango shower gel i had to stop and have a sniff of the tango shower gel at a lovely smel and a bargin price of £1 i brought it it comes in cherry, orange, apple, its very gental on the skin and its very nice smeling but found it doesnt really lock the smell in but its very refreshing and makes your skin feel very soft indeed, i have brought this tango shower jel every week on our weekly shop cheery is my fav but, its good for sensitive skin and doesnt dry your skin out all the family use it my 3 children and my hubby it makes the upstairs smells fizzy and smell of either cherry, apple,, orange tango i have recommended this tango shower gel to all my friends on facebook and will contuine to buy highly recommended :)
My teenage daughter persuaded me to part with £1 for a bottle of orange Tango shower gel, one of several items I would not normally have chosen whilst shopping alone! The local pound shop had a couple of other fragrances too, my daughter chose the orange one as she loves to drink orange Tango.
The shower gel comes in a 400ml bottle with handy finger grips on the side to help to stop you dropping it. It might benefit from having a hook on the top so that you could hang it up in the shower cubicle.
I used the shower gel first and found the smell of it was really artificial and sickly, it lathered up fairly well but I did not feel that refreshed as the aroma was so unappealing.
My daughter was keen to try it but made the same comment about the scent, she also said it felt sticky on her skin.
We both have sensitive skin and I have to say that the shower gel did not irritate at all.
All in all, it is fairly good value at a cost of £1 for 400ml.
Anything that persuades a teenager to have a shower is alright by me!
