“ Brand: Ted Baker / Cleanser / Type: Body Wash / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Cleanses, „
**Introduction** When it comes to Mens grooming I like to change things around from time to time and try something new. I have owned a few Ted Baker shower gels now and this one my favourite. It's a lovely product which has a lovely scent right from the off. It also has a deodorant in the range. The price is more than the likes of Lynx and Adidas products at £3.99 in Boots but you can sometimes find it in various offers like 2 for £6 which also includes the various deodorants in the Ted Baker range as well as other varieties of Shower gel too and on occasion they also include other brands in the offers. The bottle is 300ml which is bigger than most similarly priced shower gels and hair and body wash products. **The Product** This is just a lovely shower gel or "Hair and body wash" It has a lovely fragrance which features notes of grapefruit, ozone, cedar, vetiver and amber. The gel lathers up nicely and gives you a fresh feeling which leaves the skin feeling good and cleansed. It's really ideal for someone who likes a nice citrus scent which has a good cleansing feel. It also works quite well as a shampoo too and better than most stand alone shower gels. I have owned this particular Hair and body wash a few times now and it just has a lovely scent which impressed me from the first smell. Just very fresh and nice. It's ideal for younger men and middle aged men alike as it has that broad appeal. **Overall** This is a product from Ted Baker that is a premium Hair and Body wash. It is worth the higher price though as it's a long lasting product with a really lovely scent. I would certainly recommend this to friends and I remember receiving compliments when wearing this with the accompanying deodorant in the range. Ted Baker have several excellent fragrances and shower gels so it's worth looking at some of their other products if you like this one as much as I do. It's just a wonderfully good product which is still affordable at £3.99 but look out for deals as you could get a bottle of this stuff for £3 which would be a really good deal and serve as another incentive.
I was given a bottle of this for my birthday and it came in a box set with soap on a rope and body spray. I was very pleased to receive this as having used Ted Baker products before I know they are excellent quality. This is certainly my favourite from the gift though for the following reasons. Firstly it comes in a good sized container. There is 300ml of liquid to be had out of it and that lasted me a long time. This is because you do not have to use much to create the desired effect. The cap to the bottle helps too because you can easily control the amount you want to put into your hands and start using. I used it every morning to give you some indication. Another key aspect of it was the fact that you can use it for both your hair and body. On both counts it was very good. Firstly it left my hair in manageable condition with no split ends and I was able to style it without any worries. It also meant that it didn't frizz or do any damage to it longer term and I didn't even have to use a conditioner. Secondly it left my skin feeling very soft and invigorated. I would suggest that it would be good if you have a dry skin condition for example because I really noticed the difference to the whole of my body and was even commented on by by women because they thought I had begun moisturising. I play alot of sport and often my muscles get tired. I am often on the go and I do regularly go down the gym. It helps to breathe new life into your body and by rubbing in the rich lather you can tell the difference between this and some other brands. The aroma that this gives off too is lovely. You will go to work or get about your daily business with a feeling of confidence because there is little chance of you getting negative comments. It has a type of minty, fresh feel to it. Overall this does not let the brand down in anyway shape or form. You will love this or it would make a perfect present for someone you care about if brought as part of a set.
I bought a bottle of this Ted Baker Dark Green Hair and Body Wash for Mr Norton when he was feeling a bit down last year as I knew he adored Ted Baker stuff so thought I would treat him. I was not sure if he would use it or if he would like it, but I thought the bottle was pretty and I liked how the Ted Baker brand has products that roll down through all budgets- so to have something Ted Baker, you don't have to spend £1,000 on a Ted Baker suit or even £60 on an aftershave, you can just spend £3.99 in Boots for a hair and body wash! For the purposes of this review, I have both sneakily used this product myself (shhh) and I have also conducted a small interview of Mr Norton (much to his amusement when I turned around with a list of questions and a note pad to 'interview' him earlier in our living room). As I felt it was only fair to get the full view of this product and its capabilities. Ok, so the product is £3.99 for a plastic 300ml bottle with a push down cap that tilts to reveal a small hole that you squeeze the product out of. I found it hard to squeeze the product out of the bottle and I had to use both hands to get any of the clear liquid out. I am aware it is intended for men, so strong male hands are required. The product is clear and smells a bit fruity- definitely masculine but not overpowering and not talcy like some male products can be. It is a very clean, quite a light fragrance that reminded me of sweet pea plants but wrapped in a male grooming product smell. You can detect the grapefruit in it but it is not overtly citrus. Reading the pack it describes its own scent as "grapefruit, ozone, cedar, vetiver and amber". Now, I have not heard of some of these scents (ozone? vetiver?) so I have tried to describe it as I smell it (above). When I asked Mr Norton in our interview (lol) how he would describe the smell his reply was "fresh, fruity and masculine". The bottle is quite quirky as it has things like "In Ted We Trust" printed discretely on it and "Made In Ted's Lab". It also notes it is made in Thailand, please recycle the bottle and store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. I am not going to list all the ingredients- but there is a website should any further information be required: www.tedcares.com. This product is designed as a two-in-one body wash and a shampoo so you men don't need to faff around buying several products. You can just take a bottle of this to the gym and it will do for all your showering needs. Most men I know don't use conditioner, but shampoo is a must. The bottle instructs to use in the bath or shower, apply to wet skin, lather up and rinse off. I found it does not lather up a great deal. It is hardly bubble bath, but you do get a mild lather and it rinses off easily. It says on the bottle it washes and conditions skin and hair. It leaves behind a faint scent of the fruity, sweet pea like masculine fragrance that does linger softly on your skin. This is great for Mr Norton but not so good for me testing it as it just made me smell manly (I knew this would happen, i'm not complaining about it but for you girls out there- do not test this product!- there is a pink Ted Baker for girls version also in Boots for the same price! ). lol. It does leave skin feeling clean and smooth and it does work as a shampoo too. Mr Norton confirmed this as we have gone through four bottles of this in the last few months so it is a hit in our house. Mr Norton does not use a conditioner as it gives him "pouffy" (ie very big volumetric) hair. But his hair has not become dry from just using this so I am confident you can use this on its own without the need for a conditioner. To wrap up my 'interview' of Mr Norton, I asked him if he had anything else to say about this product and his verdict is "I love it, it makes my skin smooth and I would not buy anything else now". So thumbs up from us.
As part of the usual smellies I receive for Christmas every year it made a nice change to receive some Ted Baker toiletries last year and part of the collection I got was this Hair and Body Wash. Contained in the bottle as illustrated above the design is attractive and interesting and looks a quality item from a renowned name. The bottle holds 300ml and by itself costs £3.99 from Boots, mine came as part of a gift set along with a flannel and probably cost around a fiver. Having used up my Original Source Shower Gel the other day I cracked open this bottle and started to use this instead. The great thing about this Gel is that it is suitable for both your hair and for cleaning all over your body so you don't need to take a separate shampoo into the shower with you. The snap top lid is easy to open and the gel inside easily dispenses into your hand with a gentle squeeze of the sides of the bottle. It is a clear gel that has a light aroma which I would smells soapy and fresh, definitely a masculine smell rather than being overly floral it has a slight musk/wood smell that lingers as you wash with it. It does what you want a shower gel to do and that is lather up nicely and produces a good deal of soapy bubbles that leaves your body feeling fresh and clean, the fragrance does linger for a while after drying off and I noticed that it seemed to stay longer in my hair than on my body. It did slightly dry out my skin which normally doesn't happen with Original Source and the smell isn't as strong or have as much of an impact as my usual brand. However as a gift it was ideal and definitely welcomed and I will continue to use it until it has all gone. I can't say I would rush out to buy a replacement once my bottle is empty and would probably revert back to Original Source for the smell and impact it gives. There's nothing wrong with this from Ted Baker and it is handy being a 2 in 1 but overall I can't say I was blown away by it. 3/5 Dooyoo stars from me, it has a nice smell and is an effective shower gel and shampoo but ultimately its nothing special and in my opinion not worth the £3.99 it costs to buy separately. Thanks for reading my review.
I don't normally use shower gels or body-washes as part of my daily routine - instead opting for good-old-fashioned (and boring) soap whilst in the bath or shower. However, I recently tried out Ted Bakers 'Hair & Body Wash', which can be purchased for £3.99 from Boots (300ml). Ted Baker do quite a few different hair and body washes, with this review relating to the one which comes in the dark green bottle with the turquoise label. The bottle itself is very pretty indeed - overlaid with a selection of small silhouettes representing various icons of modern life... cars, phones, watches, beers, and even handcuffs - it's like a William Morris wallpaper for the 21st century. The cap has a flip-open design which allows easy access to the liquid inside in a non-messy and efficient way. The product is designed for bath and shower use, and also for the body and the hair. To be honest, I've only used it on the body seeing as I use a separate shampoo for my head. The consistency of the product is arguably thicker than other similar products and it has a jelly like nature. It lathers up quite nicely, so you don't have to use too much, and therefore represents good value for money. The smell is very pleasant indeed - citrussy, yet quite hard to place - I think it's quite a manly smell, but I can't be certain. The text on the bottle points out that the aroma is in fact twisted grapefruit, ozone, cedar, veliver, and amber - but what on earth does ozone smell like!? After washing, the smell remains on the skin for quite a while which is nice. The body wash may have left my skin a tiny bit drier than normal after use - but this may equally be down to the cold weather which we're having at the moment, and it's only a marginal thing anyway, and not a real criticism. All in all then, Ted Baker's Hair & Body Wash is a nicely smelling and effective product which does exactly what it is supposed to do - recommended.
