“ Brand: Tesco / Texture: Cream / Type: Shower Cream „
When it comes to buying shower gels I'm not loyal to a particular brand and will often purchase whatever is on offer or a stores own brand. One shower gel I bought a while back was Tesco Pampering Shower Creme Natural Magnolia and Silk Extract, I have used Tesco own brand shower gels in the past and have always been pleased with the results so I was sure I would feel the same with this particular product. Packaging The Tesco Pampering Shower Creme Natural Magnolia and Silk Extract comes in a clear plastic bottle with a clear plastic flip lid on the top. There is a label on the front of the bottle with the Tesco name at the top and the words Pampering Shower Creme written vertical along the label with the words Natural Magnolia and Silk Extracts written towards the bottom of the label, there is a small flower type pattern at the top of the label, all of this is in purple shades. The label on the front of the bottle is quite basic but does tell you what you need to know. On the back of the bottle there is a second label which contains all of the product information including facts about the shower creme, the directions for use, warnings and ingredients, all of this is written clearly and repeated in several different languages. The Shower Crème The Tesco Pampering Shower Creme Natural Magnolia and Silk Extract is a pearly white colour, it has a soft floral fragrance with a sweet hint to it. This shower gel is described as being a pampering shower creme which will both cleanse your skin and leave it feeling moisturised, the silk and magnolia are specially formulated to achieve this. There is nothing fancy about this particular shower creme, however it does have a pleasant fragrance and does exactly what it promises to. Directions for Use The directions of use are described on the back of the packaging and are standard for this type of product, they simply state that you should apply to wet skin, lather and then rinse thoroughly. I personally apply mine with a sponge or shower puff and find that you do not need a large amount to produce a good amount of lather. Warnings Again these appear on the back of the packaging and state that you should avoid contact with eyes, if this does occur you need to rinse them with warm water. This is not stated on the back of the packaging, however this product makes no promises of being suitable for sensitive skin so should you have an adverse reaction to this product your should stop use immediately. Price and Availability The Pampering Shower Creme is only available from Tesco as it is one of their own brand products, the 300ml bottle we bought is sold for just 50p which personally I think is excellent value for money, especially as the shower creme is long lasting and economical. My Opinion We have now finished our bottle of Tesco Pampering Shower Creme Magnolia and Silk Extract and were extremely pleased with the results. The shower creme did exactly what it promised it effetely cleansed your skin and it certainly felt moisturised afterwards, in no way did my skin feel dry after using this product. I particularly like the fragrance of this product, it was just the right strength and was a lovely combination of floral and sweet, it is quite a feminine fragrance but it could also be suitable for the whole family should you wish. This shower creme is very reasonably priced and in my opinion is well worth the money. I will certainly be purchasing this again in the future and would recommend it.
The Tesco creamy shower wash with magnolia and silk is one of the hundreds bottles which crowds my bathroom. It is one which is bought frequently from Tesco and continues to be a favourite in our household. ***Price*** This bottle is currently sold for about 72p (at a memory guess) for a decent sized 500ml bottle. The price was the original reason we began to purchase this shower cream as it's perfect for the on budget occasions we all go through. Other, well known brands can be found for just around 50p more, but when looking at these I noticed you get about half the size, so is it worth it? ***Using*** I wasn't very excited to see this shower crème in our bathroom next to our others which are well known, popular good quality shower washes. I didn't really expect much from a Tesco brand yet gave it a try anyway. I was pleasantly surprised when using this shower crème to be honest. The smell was the first thing I noticed with this bottle, it is quite strong and didn't reflect my expectations at all. The smell reminds me of the usual 'Dove' fragrance most of us know which to me smell quite soapy. This shower crème really does smell soapy yet with a slight hint of floral to it. The 'magnolia and silk' advertisement is probably just a random name tag, or to reflect the colour of the liquid because it doesn't fit with the smell of the crème at all. Magnolia and silk makes me think of soft, smooth and simple which is what I thought I got with this crème. The liquid is very soft to my skin and easy to spread over your body. When I use this shower crème, I find it runs out very quickly so its not always very easy to just take out a little bit to use. The liquid itself is quite thin which gave me the instant impression that it wasn't of very good quality. The liquid does foam up well however which is all I really care about when finding a good shower crème. When the liquid is rubbed between your hands- For a short while as it is hard to keep the liquid from dripping away- it is then easy to create a foam when rubbing over your skin. I find it bubbles up well without the need of a sponge which is good for me as I don't like using sponges, I feel they make my skin itch! This shower wash is called 'creamy' shower wash which is really what it is. It is very smooth, silky and I love how easy it spreads over my skin. After using this shower wash, I feel I have had a good clean which is always an important factor when I am considering which shower wash to use after a trip to the gym. My skin feels moisturised and the shower wash isn't too harsh on my skin which I love as it means I don't suffer from itching after showering which I get a lot. A 500ml bottle used between 3 of us lasts for about 3 to 4 weeks. I feel however that most is unfortunately waste down the drain from the liquid being so runny! If it was thicker it would be a lot easier to just take a smaller amount to use. Although, a months supply of shower wash for less than £1, I can't really complain. ***The Bottle*** The shape of the bottle is the same as the older version, however it now has a blue lid matching with blue font on the bottle. The text now says 'Creamy Shower Wash' rather than 'Shower crème' which I think is a positive change as it sells the bottles better. The lid has a snap close tongue on the top which is very firm. The lid is easy to lift and closes with a snap and we have never had any problems in terms of it leaking. However, the hole on the bottle is quite large compared to other shower creme's I have used and when the lid is left open, water can gather inside causing the top layer of the crème to become even more watery. The size of the hole is probably where the manufacture could begin to improve this bottle. If the opening was smaller, it would be a lot easier to squeeze out a smaller amount of crème. ***Overall*** This shower wash does have it low points, but when comparing them to the price I can't really complain Tesco Creamy shower wash is; * Kind to skin * Smells nice * Doesn't dry out or irritate my skin * Is cheap! * Comes in a decent sized 500ml bottle * Has a decent snap close strong lid I will buy this again.. And again... And again, because the price is too good not to. Thankyou for reading, I also post on Ciao
I bought this the other day in my local Tesco's as nothing was on offer, so opted for their own brand. It cost me just over £1, which to me is great value as many other named brands come in between £2-£3 each. It is in a clear plastic bottle, so you can see the colour and to look at, it looks quite thick and luxurious in a cream to white kind of colour. To use the shower creme is not quite as thick as it looks and is quite runny. It doesn't lather that well, so you do need quite a lot of it. I had to use almost double the amount of what I would have normally had to, which then works up a better lather. This also means that you use it up quickly. The smell is lovely, it is by no ways overpowering and is in fact quite subtle. It is ever so slightly floral, whilst at the same time being quite musky. It has a lovely clean and fresh smell to it. It is quite moisturising, though only when in the shower or bath as once you are out you do not feel any more moisturised then before you went in the bath or shower. Overall this is something I'd reccomend for the odd use if you are saving the pennies, but not if you want a treat!
Whlist browsing the isles at Tesco and thinking about my lovely warm bubble bath when I got home I spotted this! I normally always go for a shower gel and whilst having plenty at home I went for this as it sount so much more relaxing! I didn't particuarlly get drawn to it because of its packaging, but more towards its price! What is it? It is a shower creme, in Magnolia and Silk flavour. A shower creme is very different to a shower gel and is thicker and more creamier and rich on the skin. Purchasable: It is purchasable at Teco's as it is Tesco's own product. Price: It costs around 60p which I think is great value for money especially as many of the other brands can be over £2. Smell: As it is a shower creme it is only very slightly scented and does not lather up like gels to create a lovely smell. As its flavour is also very subltle in magnolia and silk these is not much fragrance to it, if any it smells of newly washed linning, which it neither pleasant, nor unpleasant. Packaging: Like most shower gels and cremes it is in a clear plastic bottle, where you flip the lid open and squeeze to release the creme. However it is a very slidy bottle so can be easily dropped into the bath if you have slippy or slidy hands! Size: I have only ever seen this in one size bottle which is 300ml and I don't think that they do it in various sizes. My view! I am unsure on this product, I am not sure as to whether I like or I don't like it. Although the creamier texture of it does feel like it is moisturising your skin, it is not that 'thick' and is quite watered down so doesn't create the soothing and relaxing element. I don't really like the fact that it doesn't have a fragrance, as I love products with fragrances such as Lush, etc. As it is quite a cheap product this means that the packaging is quite poor and cheap which means that the bottle tends just to slip out of your hand when you are not expecting it! Although it does work up quite a creamy lather which is nice and you can feel it softening your skin, it is very thin and is not thick and as creamy as what I would've wanted! It does leave your skin soft and moisturised though, even after getting out of the bath / shower, which is always a bonus, especially if you have dry skin like me! Although it isn't a product that I had to bin as it is o bad, I don't think I'll be buying it again as it is just not for me! I would reccomend it to those of you who maybe what something relaxing and unfragranced, but for those of you who want to smell nice AND have a relaxing bath I'd suggest you'd look elsewhere.
This is one of the worst shower gels / creams I have ever used - I'm sorry to be so negative but it just smells disgusting. Yes it is cheap, but for about 40p more you could get a lovely smelling shower gel like Palmolive. ********** The Smell ********** In theory it is Magnolia and Silk and to be fair when I read the ingredients, alongside around 50 other ingredients it does have 'Magnolia Biondii Extract' in it, but I'm not too sure how much. The smell is an absolutely overpowering, ultra-soapy and cheap smell which I don't want on my skin. If you like the smell of old-fashioned soap perhaps you will like it, but I really didn't I'm afraid. ********** The Effects ********** I have to say that it does create enough lather and it did feel fairly soft on my skin, but no more than any other shower gel. After getting out the shower and drying off my skin felt reasonably soft but again no more than usual, and the effects of my favourite shower gel Palmolive Almond and Milk are much better with making skin soft. ********** Price and Size ********** It is a very cheap option at around 60p for 300ml and should last you a good few months. ********** Others ********** There are other Tescos Own shower gels which are in similar bottles but with different smells. We made the mistake of buying a few at once and I wasn't impressed with the others either - they didn't soak into the skin well or lather up easily at all and while the smells weren't as soapy and overpowering as this one they just really weren't anything special or memorable at all. If you are buying them I would suggest trying one out first rather than buying a load in one go like we did! ********** Conclusion ********** If you are on a budget and just want to get clean this would be a good option for you, but if you want a lovely-smelling shower gel that makes your skin smell lovely and feel soft, I would personally pay the extra for something a lot nicer.
I've tried all kinds of shower gels over the years and come to the conclusion that you don't necessarily get what you pay for! However I love my showers and spend a lot of time in there, so I'm always on the lookout for something new, and preferably cheap, to try. I picked this up in Tesco with my weekly food shop, as it was priced only 72p which is a bargain, especially bearing in mind the large 500ml bottle, much bigger than the standard 250ml of most shower gels. I picked this one as it was quite clean looking in plain white packaging, as my boyfriend complains if I buy anything too pink or flowery! I like the smell of magnolia and thought this would be nice to use, as well as being easy on the pocket. I was really pleased with this when I came to use it - despite being large, the bottle is easy to pick up as it has curved sides which make it easy to grip with wet hands. The cap has a flip-up top which makes it easy to dispense onto a sponge or puff. If anything, the hole is a little large and the gel a little runny, so you get more than you plan to, but who cares when it's this price, and everyone likes a bubbly shower! It does smell really pleasant and floral - you can actually smell the magnolia, and it feels really moisturising on your skin. It's really luxurious and makes tons of bubbles. After rinsing, my skin felt moisturised and not at all dry. My only complaint with this product is that the smell is a little bit 'generic' -without seeing the packaging you'd be hard pressed to say which flower it was. Having said that, for 72p for a massive bottle you really can't go wrong. This product serves its purpose and I'll buy it again, unless something a bit posher and flashier catches my eye!
I love a good hot shower in the morning especially on a cold day and therefore can get through a hell of a lot of shower gel. I like to experiment and try lots of different brands and fragrances to find my favourites but at the same time I dont like to spend a fortune. I used to buy a lot of Lush shower gels but I cant justify the cost of them anymore. I've turned lately to buying my toiletries from wherever I do my weekly grocery shop, last week it was Tesco. They sell a decent selection of bath and shower products including this Magnolia and Silk shower creme. It costs just 49p per 250ml bottle which compares very favourably with branded items. The bottle is slightly curved making it easy to hold as it fits nicely into your hand. The only trouble with this is that it doesnt have a hanging hook on the lid so you cant hang it up in the shower whilst you wash. I end up placing it by my feet which means it sometimes gets knocked over and I occassionaly tread on it which isnt exactly safe when you're wet and soapy. That aside the shower gel itself is thick and creamy without being too gloopy and lathers up very well, a decent sized dollop on a sponge produces more than enough suds for a good wash. which rinse off easily and leave a pleasant scent on the skin. You can certainly smell the magnolia in it but it's so overpowering that the rest of the family leg it the second you're out of the bathroom. My boyfriend is happy to use this and he normally uses products that are lot more "manly" I would happily buy this again seeing as the price is so good and it does the job its designed for very well. Why pay for something 3 or 4 times the price when you dont have to?
Tesco Magnolia and Silk Shower Crème is one of a range of shower gels and crèmes made by Tesco. They are from their more affordable range and retail for around 49p for a 300ml bottle. Having tried a few products from the range with varying success I thought I would give this one a go to see what it was like. The product comes in a 300ml clear plastic bottle with curved sides making it easy for you to hold whilst in the shower. Those of you who like to hang their shower products up will be disappointed to know that there is no hanging hook so it has to sit either on a shelf or on the side of your bath. I like the fact that the bottle is clear as it lets you see exactly how much is left and when you need to go and buy some more. There is a flip top lid at the top which is fairly easy to open and close it does however get a bit messy which I think is a problem with the design. The crème is a white colour. It contains Magnolia extract and silk amino acids hence the name of the product. These are designed to cleanse and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. The crème has a lightly floral smell, slightly soapy but very fresh and pleasant. I would say it was feminine smell but my husband has used it without complaints. The crème is a moderate consistency, it is thicker than some of the gels I have used in the same range which were very watery but its not a very thick cream. It foams up well and is easy to use to clean yourself. After using my skin feels clean and slightly softer and has a lovely fresh scent. This is a fairly pleasant shower crème but isn't one of my favourite shower gels. It is good value for money, the smell is ok and does what it says on the bottle. I think it could be a bit thicker to make it more of a luxurious cream. I think there are other shower crèmes that I prefer the smell of so I don't think I will be rushing out to buy this one again.
