Tesco Wake Up Mint Shower Gel
Advantages: The smell, really refreshing and zingy
Disadvantages: None for me
Tesco Wake-up shower gel only costs £1 but it is pretty good for the money. The first thing that attracted me to the range of shower gels is the colours which are bright and colourful and they really stand out on the shelf. They remind me a lot of the Original Source range of shower gels due to both the colours and the 'flavours'.
The Mint and Tea Tree one is probably the nicest in the range at least for me personally. I was immediately attracted to the vibrant colour of the shower gel and I love mint and tea tree as a combination in shower gels especially in summer as I find that it is really refreshing and cooling on my skin.
The shower gel may only cost £1 but it certainly doesn't look or feel like a cheap one. It has a great consistency and is really thick and almost jelly like in the bottle. It isn't thin and watery like some other cheap shower gels can be and when you squeeze it out of the bottle you only need a little as it is really concentrated.
The lather that you get from this is really good and it lathers up nicely and a little bit can do my whole body.
This is as refreshing as I had hoped it would be and it really helps wake me up when I use it. The tea tree is quite strong smelling but you can actually also smell the mint as well and with some tea tree and mint combinations the tea tree is so overpowering that it is all that you can smell.
Obviously this cleans my skin well but I also don't find it to be too drying. Some shower gels can really dry my skin out causing it to be tight and itchy and this one doesn't do that. It gives a real zing to a morning shower and also it has a slight cooling effect which is nice when you are too warm as it really cools your skin down.
For £1 I personally think this is a great shower gel. If you decanted this and put it in another bottle you would be hard pressed to know it wasn't a more expensive shower gel from a big brand. Sometimes the own brands from Tesco are pretty rubbish but this isn't one of them and Tesco have definitely got both the price and the product right with this one and I would really recommend that you try it out especially if you are a fan of tea tree and mint as it is really good.
