I shower every day using shower gel but I am not loyal to a specific brand. On a recent shopping trip to Tesco they had a variety of there own brand shower gels reduced to clear so I took advantage and purchased a few including the Tesco wake up shower creme in the Mexican Lime fragrance.
I paid just 49p for a 250ml bottle of the shower gel which I thought was excellent value.
The shower gel comes packaged in a clear plastic top down bottle allowing you to see the bright green shower gel inside. There are labels on the front and back of the bottle which provides all the necessary information about the shower gel including ingredients listings and directions for use. It also states that the shower gel contains essential oils and is not tested on animals.
I would say that the shower gel is more of a gel than a creme as described. It has quite a thick consistency but is easy to dispense from the bottle by opening the flip top cap and squeezing. I used this shower gel on a body puff and found that I only needed a small amount to get a lovely lather. The gel smells fresh, zesty and gorgeous and really helped to wake me up in the mornings. My skin was also left feeling refreshed but also soft and smooth with a slight hint of the lime fragrance left lingering.
Overall I have been very impressed with this shower gel it leave my skin feeling great has lovely fragrance and was an extremely good price. Highly recommended.
This review is for the lemon version!!
I have to say that I absolutely love this shower gel...It is exactly like the orginal source shower gel, but costs half the price!! It smells sooooo lemony that it makes your mouth water every time you use it.
This particular item is a Tesco own brand and costs 98p in stores, which is a great price for a decent shower gel these days, some times they also have it on offer of 2 for £1.50 which is even better. It comes in a see-through bottle, which stands upside down therefore you never loose a drop as its always ready to be squeezed out as soon as it's opened, although there is no hook on the top of it which means you can't hang it up in the shower and have to keep lifting it to open and close it and this is the only disadvantage that I can think of. The contents of the bottle are bright yellow, which really isn't surprising as it is lemon 'flavor' and well lemons are yellow lol.
The front of the bottle states "WAKE UP! with Lemon shower gel with added zing" I have to say this really does the job at waking you up in the morning....it smells so yummy and as there are added essential oils it leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. It doesn't take a lot either as it lathers up really well, so one bottle goes a long way....and just to let you know the bottles are 250ml and are made from HDPE (high density polyethene) and the caps are made from PP (Polypropylene) and can be disposed of through waste collection or recycled appropriately where facilities are available.
The feel of this product is great on your skin. I did read another review on this shower gel that stated this product stung their eyes so I will mention that it does say on the back of the bottle *avoid contact with eyes*if contact occurs rinse immediately with clean water* so basically this is a body wash shower gel and not to be used on the face!!
Directions for use: Apply directly onto hands, flannel or wet sponge and work into lather. Rinse well.
I prefer to just use it directly onto my hands and lather it that way as this seems to work best causing the best amount of lather with the smallest amount of shower gel, but the choice is yours :)
