Face towels and loofahs are now obselete. After decades of using body brushes, scrubby soaps, flannels, and all the other assorted paraphernalia they bring out for Christmas gift baskets, I have found something that works. Body Shop's Body Gloves are very definitely it. They are a wonderfully simple and elegant solution. Made of a very lightweight thin weave, they allow you to wash yourself the way nature intended. All you do is to run your hands over your body as you apply your soap/shower gel/bath creme. It's as simple as smoothing on moisturiser. Because your using your hands directly on your body, it is infinitely easier to follow the contours of the body and to adjust the amount of pressure applied. The slightly abrasive testure of the gloves does the rest. I now emerge feeling that I have just had a full body massage without having to have done the exhausting pummelling bit. I had initially mentioned using them lightly on my face, but Morgana has pointed out in the commentaries section that they are too abrasicve for that purpose. The gloves cost £3-£4. I have several pairs in a basket beside the bath. The instructions say not to, but after each bath/shower, I simply pop the used pair into the laundry bin. I have been washing them for over a year in the 40 degree wash and tumble drying them, and they are still going strong. Go on, pop out and get several pairs. Your new relaxed and tingly body awaits you.
This product smells yummy! It's got a real good light smell not too overpowering! It is meant to be an exfoliating body wash but to be honest it's a very mild exfoliator - it could do with a bit more gritty bits in! But as a body wash it really is good - you only need a small amount of it on a sponge to get a really good rich creamy lather which will leave your skin feeling smooth and very clean. It rinses off very easily. It does not have that drying effect that some body washes have. As a body wash its an excellent product but if you really want an exfoliator then try some thing else eg body shops rice bran exfoliator. I'd definetly recommend it if you are looking for a nice light smelling body wash.
This smells gorgeous, but the actual product is a real disappointment. Whilst it does truly smell of strawberries, there's not much exfoliation going on I'm afraid. It's a case of too much gel not enough scrub. I use exfoliators regularly and love them. I fell in love with the smell of this product so bought it. However when I came to use it I discovered that you can barely feel the scrub in it. I really don't feel like it's lifted any dead skin from my face or body after using it. I recently received a free body scrub through a magazine and realised how bad the Body Shop one was. Don't get me wrong I love Body Shop products, but with this one they can do better. I shan't be buying it again.
