Having purchased a lot of the body shop items over Christmas for other people I wracked up a fair amount of vouchers to use throughout January and my boyfriend got me a gift card to spend for Christmas too so I while I was ill the other day in bed I decided to do a spot of internet shopping. I managed to save my vouchers and my gift card however because at the moment they have an offer where when you spend £50 you get £25 off so I found myself adding things to my basket just so I could make the most of the offer. Individually this item costs £4 for a 250ml bottle. I shop in the body shop quite a bit and have accepted that their prices might not be the cheapest but I love their items and have the money spare to spent.
I've never seen this on the shelf before and have recently discovered that this is a limited edition item that comes out every now and again. I've never seen this is Grimsby's body shop store and I basically added this to my basket just to make the most of the offer so I didn't really know what to expect of this product.
This scent may not be for everyones liking but I love it. This smells very nutty, creamy and chocolaty. This reminds me of a tray of delicious chocolate that I could just eat, this genuinely smells good enough to eat. I use a netted scrunchy type bath product to wash with and I always try a small amount on this first to get the first lather, this lathered up really well without much effort and felt really smooth and silky when applied to the skin. The more I scrubbed the more I could smell the sweet chocolaty nut aroma rising up.
Overall this left my skin smelling amazing and refreshed. This is a product I never knew about before but since buying it the first time I've gone back for more.
Whilst filling out my most recent online order with the Body Shop, I spotted that they were currently offering some limited edition products in the Brazil Nut range and as I love Body Shop's Brazil Nut Body Butter, I had a quick look and as well as immediately ordering a tub of the body butter, I also ordered this shower cream along with it, knowing that it was bound to smell every bit as scrumptious as the body butter. At £4 for a 250ml bottle, this isn't the cheapest product on the market but now my children have well and truly left home, I can indulge in quality rather than quantity these days.
I won't go into detail about ingredients other than that this is a soap-free product which contains Fair Trade brazil nut oil from Peru. Suffice to say the Body Shop is an ethical brand which trades under the strap line 'Beauty with heart' as all of their products are manufactured from fair trade ingredients, are not tested on animals and are suitable for vegetarians. It's also worth mentioning that all their products are free from potentially harmful parabens.
Nuts about the scent:
This isn't a totally girly scent though I think some men might find it less than unisex. Although I imagine that the scent of the brazil nut range won't be to everyone's taste, I love it. I'm not overly fond of ultra-flowery scents and neither do I like smelling like a fruit salad, but I love nutty aromas such as this. Body Shop describe it as 'sweetly nutty' and that's exactly right. It certainly smells sweet but without being too cloying and it has a deliciously nutty undertone which combines with the sweetness to give a scent which, to my mind, smells exactly like a caramel toffee. Yummy!
The shower cream in action:
I use a shower net scrunchie and a good dollop of this shower cream produces more than enough lather for the job. The lather isn't particularly thick but is light, creamy and plentiful and it rinses away very easily, leaving skin feeling silky smooth, moisturised and smelling good enough to eat. Though I usually shower in the mornings, during the recent hot spell I've been having a second shower before bed and I've found that the scent lulls me off to restful sleep and it can still be detected lingering on the skin the next morning. I'm at that time of life where my skin seems to dry out very quickly and needs daily moisturising but I've discovered that even when I don't use the companion body butter, after showering with this shower cream my skin is sufficiently moisturised that it doesn't need any additional product.
In a nut shell:
This is a wonderful shower cream which cleanses and moisturises the skin leaving it silky soft and smelling gorgeous. If you're a fan of nut scents then you'll definitely love this one. It's a shame that Body Shop only offer the brazil nut range as a limited edition which means having to stock up when it's available.
The shower cream is viable for 12 months and I estimate that a bottle should last me a couple of months or possibly longer. In line with Body Shop's environmental credentials it, of course, comes in a recyclable plastic bottle.
