Advantages: Envigorating and thorough due to lots of coarse scrub particles, moisturising, smells nice
Disadvantages: A bit expensive at full price (but deals are often on)
I have always liked Body Shop products since my school days when my friends and I always used to end up getting each other birthday and Christmas presents from there. Every now and again I still like to treat myself to some Body Shop products as I find they are good quality but not too pricey, especially as they often have deals on. Body Shop also uses a lot of natural products and prides itself on good ethics, which I also appreciate.
I bought the smaller 50 ml pot of this scrub some time before Christmas. I think I got it during a 3 for 2 offer - I know I definitely got it on some sort of deal. Full price is £12.50 for a 200 ml pot. The smaller 50 ml is normally available in store but is currently not on the website. As far as I remember, the full price of the small one is about £5. Also don't forget you can get at least 10% discount with the Love Your Body card.
The scrub comes in a sturdy clear plastic pot with a chunky screw top lid. The packaging is simple but attractive and has a typical Body Shop style to it, as you can see from the picture. Inside, the scrub is quite creamy in texture but has a lot of thick exfoliating granules in it. I hate it when a so called "scrub" hardly has any scrubbing particles to it and they are too sparsely spread throughout the product, so I am pleased to say that was not the case here and it is a properly "scrubby" scrub, just how I like them to be!
The scrub is cocoa butter scented and smells gorgeous, really rich and quite sweet. It reminds me of a bit of a nice homebaked chocolate cake smell! I scoop a bit out and rub it all over, mainly on my arms and legs. It feels quite rough when you rub it in, but personally I really like that! The grains are fairly large and coarse, feeling a bit like grains of sand in texture. It is a creamy scrub, so also has a bit of moisturisation to it as well as the scrubbing grains, as it is intended for very dry skin. I don't have particularly dry skin but I still like it, so I think it is fine for most skin types really. As it is quite a rough scrub it feels really envigorating and makes you feel like it has really done something! When I wash it off, I can feel my skin so much smoother already, so it is definitely effective.
I really like this scrub and I would definitely get it again if I see it on offer. I would also try the offer versions as there are lots of different scents available in the Body Shop.
Summary: A really nice scrub which does its job well
