I recently received a Body Shop Coconut gift set, which contains a number of gorgeous coconut scented products including a shower cream.

The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream comes in a thick, transparent, plastic bottle. The shower gel is a creamy colour. The packaging is pretty simple but attractive enough - less is more as they say! The shower cream comes in 2 sizes - 250ml and 400ml. My shower cream is a 250ml bottle (and is surprisingly big), I have been using it regularly for a couple of weeks and still have lots left. This product is described on Dooyoo and on The Body Shop website as a 'shower/bath cream', which I find quite strange because it only states on the bottle that it's a 'shower cream'.

My favourite aspect of this particular shower cream is the scent. I love tropical scents, in particular coconut. I can wear it all year round and feel like I'm off on holidays every time I get a whiff! There's no mistaking the smell of this shower cream.

This product is good as a shower gel because it creates a nice creamy lather, which feels luxurious and refreshing on my skin. A little tends to go a long way too (therefore making the bottle last longer than expected) - I use a shower puff in the shower and I only need to squeeze a small amount of shower cream on to the shower puff to cover my whole body. The coconut scent is very obvious whilst showering and the scent does transfer to my skin after showering, although unfortunately it does wear off pretty quickly. I can usually smell it on my skin for up to a couple of hours. I always feel clean and fresh after using this shower cream, plus my skin always seems soft and moisturised. The shower cream is suitable for normal/dry skin, I would say my skin is mostly 'normal'. It is soap-free so I find it doesn't dry my skin out (but doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy either).

Some shower gels/creams are better to use in the morning or night time depending on their scents. For example I would use lime shower gel to wake me up in the morning and a lavender shower cream to relax me before bed. However I find this shower cream is suitable for both morning and night time showers.

The cream is not quite so good in the bath simply because it doesn't make very many bubbles. I usually pour a small amount under the tap whilst running a bath and pop a sponge in the bath with me. My skin always feels soft and cleansed after a bath but I'm just not keen on the lack of bubbles. Luxurious baths require lots of lovely smelling bubbles!

No Body Shop products are tested on animals which is good to know. Plus The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream is made from organic virgin coconut oil from Samoa and organic soya oil from Brazil - The Body Shop support community fair trade.

The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream is available from The Body Shop or The Body Shop website. It costs £4.00 for a 250ml bottle which may seem a little on the expensive side for a daily shower cream but perfectly fine as a treat for yourself!

Summary: A nice shower cream from The Body Shop.
