“ Brand: The Body Shop / Foam / Type: Bath Melt/Foam / Subcategory: Foam / What it does: destresses, „
Though Lush's bathing range is second to none, I've recently branched out and purchased some other brands in order to save a little money. I've been buying several products from The Body Shop recently, mainly because they always have special offers on. I purchased a bottle of this Coconut Foaming Bath in one of my recent orders. At full price it costs £8 for 400ml, but my whole order on this occasion cost less than half of the full price thanks to codes and free gifts, so I consider I got a bargain!
This Foaming Bath comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip-top lid which matches other products in the Coconut range. The white label has a picture of a coconut and the product itself can be clearly seen, so you always know how much you have left. The product apparently creates "creamy bathing bubbles" and allows you to "fill your tub with clouds of conditioning foam with the luxurious scent of coconut". It is enriched with Community Trade organic virgin coconut oil for an authentic scent and bathing experience.
The product also contains Community Trade cocoa butter to moisturise. The cocoa beans used to make the cocoa butter come from the Kuapa Kokoo company in Ghana, which is a fair trade cooperative with small-scale farmers. The money made helps to fund community projects like schools and village wells, in addition to helping farmers support their families. The Body Shop has an established track record in promoting and making use of ethical initiatives and it's good to know this is still going on.
To use the product, I open the flip-top lid and pour and squeeze some into the bath while it is still running. Sometimes it is hard to judge how much to use, but it's always possible to add more. As the bath runs, more bubbles are produced and by the end there is a decent amount, though not as many as you would get with a Lush bubble bar. The water doesn't change colour, though it does go slightly cloudy.
In the bath, the water feels soft and there is a noticeable but not overpowering scent of coconut. It's a very natural scent, not at all artificial, and very fresh. The bubbles are very comforting and do last a long time. The whole thing is a very refreshing experience.
After my bath, I apply some of The Body Shop's Coconut Body Butter in order to layer the scent and moisturise. This product itself does not moisturise the skin, though in fairness it doesn't claim to.
Overall, I am very happy with this product. It creates enjoyable coconut-scented baths with a good amount of bubbles that are great to relax in. It lasts a long time - around 8 baths (and you could get more out of it if you didn't mind about having loads of bubbles), which is good value even at full price - only about £1 per bath. If you buy it on special offer, it's even better value. I can't think of anything to mark this product down on, so I'm going to give it 5 stars.
I have always liked Body Shop products for some reason and rarely went to the shop until visiting one shopping trip with friends, i noticed they sold coconut products which is one of my favourite smells of all time. I don't use lotions or body butter which is the normal products for body shop, so when i saw that they had coconut foaming bath i just had to buy.
I brought the 400 ml size which i believe to be the only sized offered on this product at the moment, the retail price is £8.00 which i feel is a good price for the size and quality of the product.
The foaming bath is best used under running hot water, you really do not need to use too much of this as it gives you plenty of bubbles. (It doesn't give off much bubbles if you just put in the water but under the hot tap). The liquid is clear with no bits in it and turns the water a light milky colour which does disappear after a few minutes, leaving fresh clear water but with the fluffy bubbles on the surface. When you get into the bath you can smell the fragrance, it isn't really strong which is ideal for me but enough to make the room and you smell of coconut. My husband doesn't like coconut food smells so i was unsure weather to get this or not but he admits that this doesn't give off too much of a strong aroma and is quit a pleasant smell. This item also doesn't make the bath slippy or oily like some products can.
I always use this product along with other coconut bath products, some body shop branded and some boots branded to give off a more lastly effect. My skin is always lovely and smooth and clean and fresh after using this item. I have nearly ran out of my current bottle and will be buying more soon.
You can buy many coconut smelling products from body shop as well, haven't tried them all yet. You can check out their website for more products:

This is a product I have not noticed in The Body Shop before. I was given it as a birthday gift, by my daughter who knows I LOVE coconut things. I normally use the shower gel, but the foaming bath is just as good.
It comes in a massive 400ml bottle in the usual Body Shop container. There are no instructions on the container but everyone knows how to use bubble bath - right? So I squeezed a generous amount into the bath and straight away it started to make bubbles. The smell wafted up and around the bathroom, extemely coconutty, gorgeous, and reminiscent of long hot summers. The bubbles were great. They easily covered the surface of the water and built up nice and high.
Once in the bath the creaminess boasted about on the side of the container was evident. It made my skin nice and smooth. They lasted long enough, a good 20 minutes, while I lay there soaking. And then when I got out the smell of coconut lingered on my skin for the whole day.
Along with the usual warning about rinsing if you get the product in the eyes, there is another one which says 'adult use only'. I can't work out why, but now you know about it.
It uses Community Trade organic virgin coconut oil. So another good reason for buying it.
I can completely recommend this product and I'm very glad my daughter discovered it.
Price: £6.50 for 400ml
From: The Body Shop
For: An indulgent moisturising bath
The packaging is the usual high quality you expect from the Body Shop, whilst remaining quite clean and simple. It's a plastic bottle with a flip lid which fastens nice and tightly so no worries of spilling.
It's a quite a thick textured creamy liquid which produces lots of bubbles really quickly when poured under a running tap. The scent is really nice and very natural, but probably too sweet for a lot of people. The scent begins to fill the bathroom very quickly when you add it to a bath.
The bubbles are soft and feel lovely on the skin, and the water feels really soft and silky. It's really lovely to bathe in and I find it really relaxing as well as great for my skin. The bubbles last really well and don't disappear half way through a long soak.
When I get out of the bath my skin feels really soft and smooth and silky, without that greasy, dirty feeling that you sometimes get from bath foams, especially moisturising ones. It definitely cleanses and moisturises well and leaves my skin feeling happy and healthy without the need to slap on a moisturiser straight away.
All in all I think this is a great bath foam.
Thumbs up from me.
I received a 'Coconut Foaming Bath 100ml' as part of a Christmas present off a friend, with other goodies from the body shop thrown in as well. I had never before received a gift from the body shop, but I have bought a number of presents from there for friends who have always loved the stuff I have bought them, but now it was my time to try the body shop!
The gift package I received seemed to contain all the small items for the body shop, a small bath wash, body butter and exfoliate. So I would advise people if buying for themselves to spend that little bit more and buy the bigger bottles etc, so they last longer, however the small items are perfect for gifts!
I poured some of the coconut bath into my bath, and was soon overcome with a delicious coconut smell; it smelled so delicious it made my stomach rumble! However the scent of the liquid wasn't too overpowering it was just enough to fill my whole bathroom with a gorgeous smell.
Soon as I got in the bath, the water felt softer than it normally did. As I washed myself I found the water to be so smooth against my skin and not as harsh as my previous baths. Also I could still smell the coconut in my water, and my bubbles were so soft and gentle against my skin.
The disadvantage about this product is that it made by bath so lovely I didn't want to get out! And I stayed in there so long it even turned my toes wrinkly haha!
As I have bought previous stuff from the body shop, I know that the prices can be a bit expensive, but now I have used the items myself I can now say they are well worth the price!
I would be most happy to received this product as a present again, even if it's on is own or in a gift set! And it would make a lovely present for other people as well who love bath time and spend hours in there!
I received a small (100ml) size bottle of this in amongst my christmas gifts, it came with a matching coconut body wash and a small shower puff with which to apply it. I love most things body shop so was looking forward to using it but because 9 times out of 10 I have a shower it has taken until now for me to try out this foaming bath cream.
I tipped some in while the bath was running, only to return a few minutes later to find mounds of bubbles, evidently less is more with this stuff although looking at the bottle and how much was remaining, I seemed to have inadvertantly pooured around a quarter in to the bath, about 25ml or so. This was more than enough for my bath!
The smell in my bathroom was delicious though - so no complaints there! I actually noticed this morning that my bathroom still smells of the coconut which is nice.
The bubbles this produced were rich and the water in the bath took on a milky haze (probably because I tipped so much in!). The nice thing was though that when I got out of the bath the smell of coconut also lingered on my skin and it seemed to have made my usually very dry skin feel quite soft.
I used the body wash too while I was in the bath so had something of a coconut overdose, all in all I am very impressed with both but the luxurious feel of the silky bubbles this produced was quite indulgent and it will most definitely be something I treat myself to again.
This contains cocoa butter which probably explains why it is so softening on the skin. The Body Shop website confirms that this is ethically sourced and fair trade - but you wouldn't expect anything less from the Body Shop would you!?
On the website they only sell this in a large (400ml) bottle so I think the size I have must be only as part of gift packs. To be honest though, as a treat I would definitely invest in the large bottle which costs £7.80 on the website. If you are a love your body member you get 10% off anyway and £5 roughly every quarter anyway - so this could be acquired even cheaper.
Great as a present too, I would definitely be pleased if I got some of this, highly recommended!
A visit to The Body Shop in Covent Garden, London and a love for anything coconut led me to deciding to try their Coconut Foaming Bath ('foaming bath' is just another name for bubble bath).
At £8 a bottle, this bubble bath is slightly more expesive than what I'd normally pay for bubble bath, but I decided to treat myself on this mini shopping spree. The bottle size is 400ml, so it's also a fair bit smaller than my usual selection of bubble baths, too.
The bottle has a flip lid, which I opened and then turned the bottle upside down. Nothing came out. The opening is rather small so I shook the bottle a little and gave it a bit of a squeeze before the bubble bath came out. At this point I was hit by the lovely smell of coconut! If you like coconut then you'll love the smell of this. I didn't put too much in (certainly not as much as I usually do when using bubble bath) as I wanted my £8 400ml bottle of bubble bath to last me! Still, it produced plenty of thick coconutty bubbles. I was quite surprised! I hadn't expected this much for the amount I'd put in.
(A note on opening the bottle... If you find it difficult to get the bubble bath out of the bottle through the small hole, you can always twist off the whole top).
Stepping into the bath and sitting down, I noticed I could no longer smell the delicious coconut scent I had when I'd first poured the bubble bath. That was slightly disappointing, but still, the bubbles were aplenty for the small amount I'd put in the bath. I love loads of bubbles and that's what I got!
So, this may be a small bottle for a princely sum, but I expect it to last me a while. And, while I'm not willing to fork out £8 on a regular basis for my bubble bath, I don't mind treating myself to this Body Shop Coconut Foaming Bath every now and then.
Relax with a coconut scented light foaming bath /
