Advantages: Gorgeous smell

Disadvantages: none

I bought this a few months ago in the Body Shop sale. Usually these retail at £4 for 250ml but on this occasion I paid about £2, at the moment as it's Christmas it's back upto £4 still not bad - not as cheap as the ordinary shower gels I buy but I like Body Shop stuff - their natural ingredients and animal welfare are a bonus.

The Body Shop have changed the bottle in the picture above, the bottle itself now is good quality clear plastic- it can be hard to squeeze the last drop out. The lid is a screw top (so you can open it to get at that last bit) with a tight fitting flip top lid and a pour control hole. The label has a cranberry on it and tells us in gold lettering that it's 'Cranberry Joy shower gel- Soap free cleansing with cranberry extract, and Community Fair Trade honey'. The shower gel itself is pink in colour not creamy but clear. The consistency is surprisingly runny but blobby at the same time. The info is on the back, the writing is hard to read so I've got some of the ingredients off their website-

Aqua/Water (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Sodium Chloride (Viscosity Modifier), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Trisodium Sulfosuccinate (pH Adjuster), PEG-150 Distearate (Surfactant), Mel/Honey

-and that's just half of it I'm surprised at the long list and how much goes into such a natural product.

The first thing that's hits me is the smell- I love it- it's smells really sweet and fruity it does actually have an undertone of honey which I hadn't noticed until having a proper read of the label and discovering honey as being an ingredient. I can smell the cranberry but don't think it smells particularly festive.

In the shower I've tried it without a sponge or bath lily thingy and it doesn't lather up. With a sponge or lily though you get plenty of bubbles, one good squirt is enough for my whole body making the shower gel last along time- more than a month with me using it everyday. It washes off quickly without leaving a residue even though it contains honey. It's never irritated my skin or left me feeling dry, I feel moisturised, clean and smooth and the bathroom smells gorgeous for a while. Unfortunately although the scent lingers on my skin for a couple of hours it does fade.

I would recommend this shower gel any time of year- it's usually available on sale from their online outlet clearance shop all year round but I stock up in January as in store it's half price.

5 stars from me.

Summary: A nice shower gel for Christmas and all year round
