... they feel very effective but are not too rough. Strangely, I find that when they are used wet they are much more harsh on the skin and almost verge on painful, still, no pain no gain!
The other thing that immediately leapt out at me when using this brush wet was that it gave off quite a strong smell, almost a vegetable smell but definitely not a pleasant one and one I found seriously offputting - I didn't want to risk leaving my house smelling like a compost heap! I originally bought this thinking it was a Body Brush rather than a Bath Brush. I had been coveting it for quite some time but couldn't bring myself to part with £9 for it! As I have a 'Love your Body' card, I used my free £5 towards the cost of this. However, it is very good quality and I would expect it to last a long time so a £9 outlay is actually quite reasonable. As shown in the picture, the brush is wooden with natural coloured bristles. I couldn't find what the brush or bristles are made from on the Body Shop website so I'm afraid I don't know what relevance the Cactus has to this brush! The bristles are stiff as you would expect.
