The Body Shop's Merry Cranberry shower gel is my holiday favorite. Ever since The Body Shop came out with their limited edition holiday scents the Merry Cranberry quickly rose to the top of my holiday shopping list. It not only is a beautiful shade of red, but the scent is heavenly. It brightens up my day when ever I use it and puts me in to a festive mood! I would recommend this to anyone looking for an easy sure win when it comes to holiday gifts. I tend to stock up each Christmas season so that I can continue to enjoy the cranberry festive scent all year round. It will leave you refreshed and relaxe, ready for the day. And with the price you cannot go wrong. The Body Shop Merry Cranberry is a definite must and go to product for me. I highly recommend to add this to your holiday list!
Today I'd like to tell you all about the "Merry Cranberry" Bath & Shower Gel by The Body Shop. I bought it half a year ago already but only recently had the chance to finally use it.
I really like The Body Shop Products in general. I'm a really luckly girl - although I don't live at home anymore, my parents pick me up about every 3 months and we go on a lovely shopping spree at a Designer Outlet Centre in Roermond in the Netherlands. The best thing about that Outlet is the The Body Shop outlet they have there. The products are way cheaper than in the regular Body Shops and I also really like that they don't do any animal testing. The Body Shop also supports Fair Trade projects and even after they have been taken over by L'Oréal nothing has changed about that.
The colour of the slightly transparent bottle reminds me of red wine. You can see the shower gel inside. The label winds itself around the plastic bottle and is nicely deocrated in a slightly lighter red. It looks quite festive, which suits the name "Merry Cranberry". You get all the usual information in golden letters, stating that this cleaning shower gel as a fruity fragrance and is soap-free. It is enriched with cranberry extract and contains Community Trade honey.
On the back of the bottle there are directions for use and you also get the list of ingredients.
The bottle contains 250ml and really looks nice - it's a real eye-catcher in the bathroom.
The shower gel smells really fruity and intense - just like I love it! The scent is sweet but not unnaturally so and it really gets me in a good mood when I use it. Although this shower gel is quite christmas-y, I think it's a good scent for summer too as it is refreshing and vitalizing.
The cleansing effect
Your skin really gets a nice but intensive cleanse with this - I feel really fresh, clean and revived after a shower with it!
The shower gel is not really creamy, so I wouldn't say it could replace using body lotion after your bathe or shower, but if it doesn't dry out your skin either. Your skin will feel soft and clean.
A love that will last?
Yep - it lasted me for ages! You could almost think it's some kind of concentrate. I needed less than the ammount of a hazelnut to generously clean my whole body., so you really save a lot of shower gel compared to other products and suddenly the price of this doesn't sound so bad anymore.
Skin-wise I didn't have any negative reactions, but of course very sensitive or allergic people should check the ingredients before buying!
Aqua, Sodium Laurth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Lauryl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Phenethyl Alcohol, Parfum, Mel, Caprylyl Glycol, PEG-18 Glyceryl Oleate/ Cocoate, Maltodextrin, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Benzoate, Citric Acid, Benzophenone-2, Linalool, Vaccinum Macrocarpon Extract, CI 14700, CI 17200.
The Body Shop is not exactly known for being cheap. I paid about Euro4 for this in the outlet shop and the regular price must be around five pounds but believe me, it's worth it!
This is not a cheap buy, but since it will last you really long and has a lovely, fruity cranberry scent, I do think it is worth the money. It was real wellness experience and I would defenitely buy this again, so I really recommend it!
