Price: £3 for 200ml in the January sales
From: The Body Shop
For: Fruity daily exfoliation of the body
The packaging is a lovely cranberry colour, looks very festive, and has the usual high quality look of the Body Shop products. It's a squeezy plastic tube that stands on its lid. The lid is a flip-top which is easy to open and fastens tightly so no worrying about spills.
It's a fairly runny gel texture with lots of scrubby grains in it. The grains are cranberry seeds and bits of crushed walnut shell, which are non-uniform so there are all different size and shapes. The scent is very fresh and fruity with the slight bitterness that you would expect of cranberries, which stops it from being too sweet and overpowering.
It lathers up really well to make a thin but plentiful foam to wash with. The grains are dispersed fairly evenly through the gel but when lathered up they do seem quite sparse and they don't really feel as though they're doing anything. The gel feels like it's cleaning well but there are no real smoothing effects to be noted.
It rinses off easily leaving no residue, and the skin feels quite soft immediately after drying, but I find my skin soon becomes quite dry and in real need of a moisture boost. It doesn't feel an smoother, and I'm really not sure that it has any actual exfoliating effect on my skin at all.
All in all I thought this was quite a disappointing product.
Thumbs down from me.
