The scrub itself is very dense, but not too abrasive and comes in an almost "goose fat" type lotion which is very greasy. This doesn't sound appealing, but it melts away on your skin leaving behind a heavily moisturising film that seals in every drop of moisture. This is also one of the few scrubs that dissolves completely, rather than leaving behind a nasty mush. After drying you can s...more

When I was a teenager The Body Shop was my favourite place for smelly products, and somehow I seemed to make the £15 a week I earned at my Saturday job buy me credit, a sunbed session, clothes, toiletries and alcohol. Thinking back I have no idea how. Gradually The Body Shop products went up in price and I began to no longer frequent there as my budget couldn't allow for it. In the years since then for some reason I've never really returned. I think it's a case of just, there is better out their (ie. Lush!) but that said The Body Shop still do some really nice products and I was reminded of this recently. The Papaya Body Scrub came in a set with some other ...  Read the complete review

Price: £9 for 250ml From: The Body Shop For: Gentle, moisturising exfoliation for soft, smooth skin The packaging is a plastic tub with a screw on lid. like most body Shop products it looks pretty plain and simple, but has a high quality look and feel about it. The lid fastens nice and tight so there's no worry of spills. It's a smooth creamy texture with lots of scrubby grains in it. The grains are pretty evenly distributed through the scrub so you get a nice even exfoliation form it. The scent is sweet fruity papaya, which is very natural. It feels very creamy on the skin and it definitely feels like it's moisturising as well ...  Read the complete review

The Body Shop Body Scrubs are usually too rich for me - in price that is, not texture! At £12.50 it's definitely an expensive treat. However, during the summer sale I came across full sized 200ml scrubs and body butters for £5 each. Now that's more like it! The pot is very big, and with wet hands I have to say too big for my tiny fingered grip! Once you've got it open though the smell that greets you is fantastic. I had to remind myself that it's not actually edible. The scrub itself is very dense, but not too abrasive and comes in an almost "goose fat" type lotion which is very greasy. I am not much in the habit of buying a great many products from The Body Shop. It was only in late 1990s that I started picking up a cream or two fro my face from the shop, that too just about the vitamin E cream or the carrot based cream for face treatment. I had realised that the producta were a little pricier when compared to the other usual brands. Later as the shop started expanding their line of products and started inducting fruit based creams, lotions and scrubs in their menu, I grew tempted andf didn't mind the price. That's when I bought this Papaya body scrub that has cocoa butter in it. Papayas are knwon to be great fro skin when ...  Read the complete review
