Pink Grapefruit is a smell that I have loved for years but it is something that I only ever seem to buy in the winter as I love wearing it when the weather is cold and the days dark as there is something about the smell which is just so uplifting and summery that it lifts my spirits regardless of the weather.
I love all the products in the range and the shower gel is a particular favourite. I love this shower gel as it smells exactly like the fragrance but in a lighter way so are ideal to layer with the body butter and the body mist to lightly scent yourself and save the more expensive perfume for when you are going somewhere.
The shower gel works really well to get skin feeling really clean but it doesn’t dry it out or irritate the skin either. It foams up really nicely and the scent of the pink grapefruit lingers in the bathroom for hours and hours. It really is an invigorating and uplifting fragrance and it is quite strong for a shower gel.
It can also use it to layer with the other products in the range to make them last longer and give them more strength.
The shower gel costs £4.00 for a 250ml bottle and it lasts for ages even for someone like me who uses quite a lot with every shower. I haven’t bought any for months but since the weather is getting more and more miserable and the nights are getting darker earlier I have been craving it so I am going to go down to the shop this week and buy some goodies from the pink grapefruit range including this shower gel.
I love the smell of grapefruits and so had to try out The Body Shop's pink grapefruit shower gel. The product itself has a really nice pink colour to it that looks very pretty when sat on the side of the bath. The smell is extremely zingy and refreshing thanks to the grapefruit seed oil present in the product, so if you don't like the smell of grapefruit then you should probably give this one a miss. Personally, I found it very energising to use, especially in morning showers when I felt groggy and during the summer when I'd gotten a bit hot and bothered. The shower gel has a good, even consistency and you don't have to fight to keep the product in your hands after squeezing some out of the bottle! It lathers with very little effort and creates a fair amount of suds, so you only have to use a small amount at a time, making the bottle last longer. When I washed the product off my skin it wasn't left feeling particularly moisturised, though I hadn't expected this anyway as it wasn't a shower cream, but thankfully neither had it seemed to dry or irritate my sensitive skin. The shower gel comes in a round plastic bottle that squeezes well initially, but when I got down to the last few uses I found that the plastic was a bit too tough to squeeze effectively, so instead I had to hold the product upside down and wait for gravity to do its work. Although the version of this product available in most Body Shop branches is labelled specifically as a shower gel, I have also poured some into the bath in the past and found that it was quite effective at creating bubbles, though these tended to pop and dissipate quite quickly. It did make the water smell lovely, though. At 4 GBP for a 250ml bottle I thought that this product was very reasonably priced and is something that I have since purchased again.
We have been using this for a while now, and probably won't change. The scent is really zingy for the morning, and the bathroom smells of it for a couple of hours after use as well.Product lathers well and feels quite luxurious. The only downside is that we like the large 500ml bottles which Body Shop only seem to do at sale time!
I asked for a body shop hamper for a Christmas and that's exactly what my parents got me, it was full of fruity goodness shower gels, bath lily's, soaps and I loved it. Included was the body shop pink grapefruit shower gel and I love it. I was a bit undecided weather it would be to perfumed and make my skin all itchy however it didn't as I've tried perfumed soaps in the past and my skin didn't agree with it. I love body shop products and this product I would defiantly purchase again the smell is great and you only have to use a little bit of the product which I put on my body shop bath lily. the product goes a long way and leaves your bathroom smelling great too for a while. I would recommend that if you have sensitive skin that you use the soaps though. Apart from that for me I think the product is great and is fresh smelling. This product isn't expensive to buy and would recommend.
I love Body Shop products and there are very few of them I have actually tried which I've disliked. I love anything citrus smelling and this is the reason why I buy the Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel. I have lost count of how many bottles of this I have bought. I first became aware of it when I received a miniature-sized bottle in a presentation pack from a girlfriend. Ever since I used that first tiny little bottle, I have been well and truly hooked. If you love zingy, fresh and fruity smells then I guarantee this is the shower gel for you - you will not be disappointed.
I always have a spare bottle of this in my bedroom 'store cupboard' whilst also having one 'on the go' at the same time. I pay £4 for a bottle which is made of plastic and contains 250mls of shower gel. Now, 250mls might not sound like a lot of shower gel and you'd be forgiven for thinking this isn't going to last you very long, however, that simply is not the case at all. This powerful little gel foams and lathers to such an extent (especially if you use a body puff, as I do) that you'll be amazed at just how long this bottle will last you. The shower gel itself is small enough and squat enough to be able to stand up easily in my shower.
The bottle is quite wide, so I have never had any problems with this falling over. It has a flip top lid and I usually squirt just the smallest amount on my body puff and then wet it with water. As I rub it over my skin, it just continues to bubble and foam and the smell is so lovely - I could almost eat it. I don't really like the taste of pink grapefruits that much, but there is something just so wonderfully fresh and overwhelmingly zingy about this product and I really cannot recommend it highly enough.
It's a fantastic product to use for early morning showers - especially on a Monday morning when it's raining outside, it's cold dark and bleak still and you need something to revive you and pep you up and get you going for the day. It's also a pretty good hangover cure as it seems to waken all of my senses and makes me more alert.
The fragrance lasts for ages afterwards after I am out of the shower and it leaves my skin feeling, soft, hydrated, alive and really pepped up! It leaves no residue, it's kind to my skin and suitable, I think, for all skin types.
I know I probably sound really over enthusiastic about this product, but that is only because I love it so much! If you have never tried this before and you are a little unsure and don't want to spend £4 on a large bottle, then I suggest you try out one of their smaller little sampler bottles and see how it goes - I'll bet you go back to buy the larger sized bottle.
It's everything I want in a shower gel and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
I absolutely love grapefruit, it's one of my favourite fruits to eat and I often have one for breakfast and its one of my favourite smells in bath and body products and in this Body Shop shower gel I think they have captured the smell perfectly. This smells just like real grapefruit which probably should be the case as they use real pink grapefruit seed in this shower gel.
The smell is amazingly zingy and fruity and has a real bold citrus smell to it, it's definitely more pink grapefruit than just regular yellow grapefruit and its absolutely lovely. I really love fruity smells and in my opinion their grapefruit smell is the best on the market today, no other grapefruit smell from any other store comes close to this wonderfully fruity, intoxicating, authentic smell.
This shower gel has a gel like consistency to it as you would expect and is lovely and thick and luxurious. The shower gel comes in a really nice see through plastic bottle so you can see the wonderfully pink liquid inside. Its a nice pink colour although doesn't look exactly the same as the pink grapefruit colour, I think this is slightly more pink than yellow but still, it's the smell that matters to me. The bottle is quite plain but that's fine. It has a flip cap lid at the top which closely really securely so you can be confident that this will not spill in the shower or your travel bag etc if you take this gel away with you.
As soon as you open the lid you get a wonderful smell coming out of the bottle straight away. I use this shower gel in the shower obviously and just squeeze out a little bit onto one of my shower puffs. It actually really lathers up well onto this sponge and then works well all over the body. The best thing though is the smell, this gel really turns your shower into an awakening smelly fruity oasis, just the thing to get you up and going in the morning. I find my skin and whole body is really refreshed after using this and I would definitely recommend it in your shower too. The gel is actually soap free so it doesn't dry skin out as much as real soap would which is great.
For the Body Shop I think this shower gel is priced really well, at just £4 for a 250ml you can really afford to use it morning and night and smell wonderful afterwards. You can get it in other sizes too and its available at The Body Shop.
I think that Pink Grapefruit has to be my favourite range at the Body Shop especially for the summer months as it is just so refreshing to use and leaves me feeling fresh even when it is hot and sweaty outside.
The shower gel is such a bargain too as even though it is a little bit more expensive than some that I could pick up in Boot's it is really thick and made with good quality ingredients and this is something that I can notice on my skin and with how long the fragrance lasts and I also only need a little bit as a small amount on my puff goes a long way.
For a shower gel this is surprisingly moisturising and my skin doesn't feel dry or tight after using it. If I am using it I normally also use the matching products but even on its own this does a good job of not stripping my skin and leaving it uncomfortable.
A tiny bit on my puff really is all that I need when using this as it lathers up loads and I have never had any problems with getting it to wash my entire body. I sometimes use it as a shampoo too and even though it doesn't say to use it this way it doesn't dry out my hair (I do use a conditioner afterwards) and it means that my hair also smells of the gorgeous fragrance too.
The fragrance of this is my favourite part of it. It smells gorgeous and although it is sweet there is a sharpness to it that makes it less cloying. Using this in the shower in the mornings really helps to wake me up as it is very zingy and a nice way to start the day. The fragrance also lingers on my skin for hours afterwards and if I place my nose to my skin at night I can still smell it faintly. I also think this is one of the few fruity shower gels that could be used by men too as it is fairly unisex smelling.
All the Body Shop shower gels work exceedingly well but this is just that little bit better in my opinion. This is all down to personal tastes and at the moment this is by far my favourite fragrance and range as I find that it complements the sun and heat perfectly and leaves me feeling fresh and refreshed all day long.
Since I discovered Body Shop Pink Grapefruit bath and shower gel I have been buying it in bulk from an outlet store and alternating it with the Mandarin version.
The smell is absolutely divine - not sickly sweet but fresh and fruity and it lasts long after your shower is over. I like the fact that it is soap free so doesn't dry my skin out and still lathers really well so you don't need to use loads. It contains pink grapefruit seed oil which means it doesn't smell artificial and I presume is better for your skin.
It comes in three sizes - 60ml, 250ml and 750ml and the bottles it comes in are nice and sturdy and easy to open with a flip up lid. I have the largest size which is a pump dispenser which is easier to use than the smaller bottles - so I just reuse it and refill from smaller bottles as unfortunately the outlet I purchase from has stopped doing the pump dispenser.
I will continue to use this for the foreseeable future unless I find something better. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fresh, non artificial fruit scented shower gel.
The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Bath & Shower Gel
This was another one of y birthday purchases, I have loved the Pink Grapefruit for many years, and even though I will try other flavours, it is always the Pink Grapefruit that I will come back to every time.
This is a own brand product and can be purchased in store and on line, the current price for a 250ml is £6.
The main size bottles of the shower gel is 250ml, although they do come in the trial size of 50ml bottle.
The bottle is a clear bottle, with a flip top, so that you can see what colour the shower gel is that you are using, in the case the Pink Grapefruit is a pale pink liquid.
As soon as you flip open the lid of the shower gel you are immediately greeted with
the zest of the pink grapefruit, and with the scent being so fresh and clean, you immediately feel energised, so even if you enter the shower half asleep your soon be wide awake and ready to go.
Although this is zesty, it is not a long lasting smell, you can notice the smell while your in the shower and for some time afterwards, but it blends into the background. my skin feels really soft even after 8 hours having a shower, I can still feel the softness of the shower gel.
A little really does go a long way with this shower gel one small blob onto my puff and there is enough to shower me over and there is no sparing of the lather, it is like I have been bathed top to bottom in it.
I recently took a 250ml bottle of this shower gel on holiday with me, I showered twice a day, and my daughter once, we both used the same bottle and at the end of the fortnight we had not even used half a bottle.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend this shower gel, from scent, to everything, I love it, son't forget to use your discount card!
PS - You can also use this as bubblebath.
I received this as a Christmas gift, and so far, I've been really enjoying it.
Packaging - Like all Body Shop shower gels, this comes in a simple clear plastic container with a flip-top lid. The lid style can mean you accidentally tip loads of product into your hand if you're not paying proper attention, but in general, the container is tough and hard-wearing. Mine is crack-free, despite being routinely dropped in the shower.
Application - I use this with exfoliating gloves, and find I need an amount of product about the size of a ten pence piece to get a good lather going, and it's enough to wash all over. Hopefully, because of that, the product will last me a good while. It does a good job, and leaves me skin feeling clean and soft.
Smell - This is the best part about this. The sweet smell of pink grapefruit is strong without being over-powering and sickly. My whole bathroom smells amazing when I use this, and the smell lingers in the shower and on my skin for hours after I've washed with it.
It was my birthday last month and I received a huge haul of gorgeous fragranced gifts. One of the gifts that I received was a large stash of Pink Grapefruit fragranced products from the Body Shop, which included this pink grapefruit shower gel. I always used to use the pink grapefruit soap from The Body Shop years ago, and I absolutely loved it. I've not used it for a long time now, in fact I can't even remember why I stopped using it, nor have I used any other Body Shop pink grapefruit products either, so I was interested to see if they still smelled exactly as I remembered the soap used to smell.
The pink grapefruit shower gel that I received was the full size bottle, at 250ml. A quick look on The Body Shop website tells me that this retails for £4, and that you can also buy a 60ml travel size bottle for £2.
The shower gel comes in a clear bottle, which I like because you can then see how much you have left at a a glance. The shower gel will stand on it's flat cap if you want to turn it upside down to enable you to get the last few bits out easily without having to shake or bang the bottle. The bottle is an easy and comfortable size and shape to hold onto in the shower, and the flip top cap makes it easy to squeeze out and dispense the shower gel into my hands.
The pink grapefruit shower gel is a gorgeous baby pink colour, and it's a translucent shower gel rather than an opaque shower cream. It's quite a thick and gloopy shower gel and a little bit of it really does go a long way. It smells absolutely divine, as soon as I open the bottle I can smell the citrussy pink grapefruit fragrance. It's a really natural and refreshing pink grapefruit fragrance, it doesn't smell artificial or synthetic at all. It's a really zesty and refeshing and a real 'wake you up' kind up fragrance and I find it suits me more for showering in the morning rather than in the evening. In the evening I prefer a shower gel with a more relaxing fragrance.
I don't need to use much of this at all to create a lovely foaming intense pink grapefruit smelling lather on my skin, and it feels quite creamy on my skin as I'm rubbing it in. This doesn't seem to moisturise my skin as such, however it doesn't seem to dry my skin out either. My skin certainly doesn't feel dry or tight after using this, just refreshed and clean, and smelling absolutely gorgeous. It rinses off easily, and it just leaves behind the divine refreshing pink grapefruit fragrance. The zesty pink grapefruit fragrance lingers on my skin for absolutely ages after showering, and also the bathroom always smells wonderfully of pink grapefruit after I've showered with this as well.
I don't really tend to shop in The Body Shop, as I do think that most of their products are overpriced. However I'm definitely going to be purchasing more of the pink grapefruit shower gel for myself as I'm absolutely loving it. We go on holiday in a couple of months and I think that this will make the perfect shower gel to take with me.
Oh and one last thing, it does smell exactly as I remember!
I have used this product on and off for years. It is very good quality - a little goes a long way, and it foams up really well. The scent is unmistakable - it smells very grapefruity and is a lovely reviving, awakening scent without being too sweet or sickly as I find other fruity shower gels can be.
The pink grapefruit fragrance appeals to all the family, although my only negative is that if it were just "grapefruit" and slightly less pink in colour it would be more unisex. In a 5 person household, we prefer to have one bottle of shower gel on the go as otherwise the shower clutter is a bit too crazy. Although we are all happy to use this, the pinkness is not as male friendly as other colours which is a shame as the scent is unisex.
The packaging is a simple clear bottle, which is OK bust less practical than the Earth Lovers range which has thinner bottles that take up less room on the shelf.
The scent of this shower gel is not long lasting on the skin, but its cleansing power is effective and I leave the shower feeling squeaky clean. The smell does linger in the bathroom for an hour or so, which is nice.
Overall, it is a nice shower gel, and my favourite of the body shop's fruity offerings because it is so refreshing.
When it comes to bath and body products I am not someone described as brand loyal. I will basically see something that appeals to me, take a sniff, check the price and then think about whether it is worth it and if it is then voila its mine!
I don't very often shop in The Body Shop purely as I think that although I like the ethics behind the brand that really it offers nothing new anymore and is rather high priced as a rule. However with a distinct lack of shops here in Weston Super Mare it is somewhere I have a quick mooch in when I have the time and more often than not these days they seem to have lots of offers on....to which this was one of them when I grabbed my bottle of it!
This quite simply comes in a pump action to the top of it see through plastic bottle with a picture of a sliced open grapefruit on the front of it and we are clearly told what it is and who it is by (this comes in two sizes as far as I am aware of and that is 60ml (£2.00) and 250ml (£4.00 though I bought this halfprice recently instore). On the back of the bottle we are told the ingredients and contact details for The Body Shop are listed and of course this bottle is recyclable and we are told that the product isn't tested on animals.
The Shower Gel itself:
I don't know if this has recently changed but this is now listed only and called only a shower gel though of course I am sure you could use this in the bath should you want to. <
The liquid is transparent and a lovely light pink colour and it pumps out of the dispenser easily and it lathers up on damp/wet skin with real ease and rinses off when you want it to with equal ease.
This for me is a wonderful uplifting and soap-free shower gel that lathers up beautifully into thick white lather and leaves me scented all day long and beyond very subtly. I like to use this most in the mornings when I'm at my grumpiest and need a bit of uplifting and not only does it do all that and leave me feeling fresh and clean I don't feel the need to go mad moisturising myself after using it though it isn't a heavy moisturising product, at the same time it doesn't dry my skin out at all though.
For me this is a great product even at full price and I really like it. A little of it goes a very long way indeed making the initial price (at full price) more than worth it and I will be purchasing this one again for sure!
Only available from The Body Shop and from www.thebodyshop.com and do look out like I did for this one being on offer which makes it an even better bargain!

The Body Shop products are usually almost good enough to eat, and this is no exception!
This shower gel is a lovely morning wake-up, when I'm struggling to keep myself from falling back to sleep. It is fresh, light and zesty, rather like the old favourite Original Source mint but a little more gentle. It has a lovely "real" fruit scent to it - it isn't overly sweet like some cloyingly fruit fragranced products often tend to be, but instead cuts through your morning steam like a (fruit) knife.
It lathers well - not overly sudded, but a nice satisfying lather, which doesn't seem to dry my combination skin out. I have sensitive skin, and have not suffered any flare ups or problems due to this gel at all - it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean, without any tautness or irritation.
This product is available with buddy products in the same fragrance, which would probably help the lovely smell to last longer, as I wish it stayed with me all day.
I like a lot of the Bodyshop products and they have so many different scents available for their shower gels and body butters that I am usually tempted to try out new ones, but every now and again I go back to an old favourite and the pink grapefruit is one of those. I have had the pink grapefruit shower gel a few times in the past and am using it again now.
Like all the Bodyshop shower gels it comes in a clear bottle with a flip top so you can see the colour of the shower gel inside. This one is a lovely fresh looking pale pink. You can get it in various sizes but I have the 250 ml at the moment. This is a generous amount but not so big that it goes on and on never seeming to get to the bottom, so I don't get bored it before it finishes!
The pink grapefruit scent of this shower gel seems quite authentic to me. It definitely does smell like an actual grapefruit with that nice sharp tang to it as well as some sweetness. This lovely citrus fragrance is great in the mornings as I think it is very fresh and clean, and I find it quite energising and good at waking me up. The scent is quite strong when you first squeeze some out and lather it up, but it dies down or becomes less noticeable after a while. However when I go back in the bathroom later I can still smell it, so it does linger to some extent, and can also be detected on the skin for a while but quite subtly.
The amount of lather is important to me in a shower gel as I like to get loads without having to squeeze out half the bottle to make enough lather! This one and all the Bodyshop ones perform very well on that front with is one of the reasons why I really like them. A normal size blob on a shower puff makes loads and loads of lather and is easily enough to wash all over very well.
This is a gel and doesn't really have any creaminess to it at all so it doesn't feel particularly moisturising. I don't have dry skin so it is fine for me but I do still like to alternate this with a creamier body wash from time to time. It doesn't feel harsh or drying at all though. I always trust Bodyshop products to be good for my skin with no bad reactions as I have been using some of their shower gels and other products since I was in junior school!
I would definitely recommend this shower gel to anyone who likes fruity scents.
