“ Brand: The Body Shop / Texture: Cream / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Cleanses, „
This is another of my favourite Shower Gels from The Body Shop. There is quite a few of their products that I class as a favourite of mine as they just smell so nice. Pity about the price in this shop though, but in a way it is worth it.
I ended up getting this Shower Gel for 50p. How did I manage that? I have a Body Shop "Love To Shop" card which gives me 10% of purchases and each time I use it my card gets stamped. After a cetain amount of stamps I get a free £5 gift and then a £10 gift. You also get a present on your Birthday which is this that I chose. The card costs £5 so it is a worthwhile buy even if you just use it for the 1 purchase and get a Birthday gift off them.
This Shower Gel comes in a few different sizes and I got the 250ml bottle. This sells for £5.50, hense why I had to pay 50p for it.
The bottle for this isn't a that pretty looking bottle, but it's alright looking. I just think that the Body Shop bottles aren't that special looking but since you can see the Body Shop branding on these then you know they aren't some cheaper brand. This has a flip top lid which is easy to open even with wet hands. There is a wrap around label going around the bottle and the lettering isn't all that easy to see, but you can still see it ok. Since the plastic bottle is clear you can see the light purple Gel through the bottle and it looks quite thick.
The Gel is pretty thick and a blob of this onto a Wet Shower Puff lathers up well. A little seems to go a long way.
You can smell the pomegranate scent as soon as you open the bottle and it smells a nice ripe fresh scent. It doesn't smell fake at all and smells like fresh Fruit. It smells delicious and although I certainly wouldn't, I would love to have a drink that tasted as good as this smells.
After this is rinsed off you can still smell this scent on your skin. It is a gentle foam which rinses off easily enough and seems to moisturise as well, which is good. I can even smell the scent lightly the next day as well.
If you like the scent of Pomegranate then you will love this. It smells so real and nice and I hope this scent keeps getting made as it is Lush.
Even with the Body Shop Loyalty Card, I find it difficult to be the Body Shop fan and a savvy shopper at the same time. That's why I always look for BS products on sale. One of the beauty bargains that I purchased a few months ago is the Body Shop Pomegranate Shower Gel.
It comes in a clear plastic bottle - it looks exactly like the bottle in the picture above. Each one has 250 ml of this shower gel. I really like these containers because first of all you can see how much shower gel you have got left and also the won't break easily (and believe me, this happened to me with some other shower gel bottles). The lid is quite hard to open but at the same time I am sure there will be no leaking.
I would describe the colour of this shower gel as something between dark pink and purple. Compared to other Body Shop fragrances, this one does not have such a sweet smell and that's the reason why I chose it - I get bored with the very sweet smells and I can't finish some of my cosmetics (and I don't like wasting things). I do not know how much of pomegranate is in this smell because I simply have tried it once in my life, it was quite a while ago and I remember I did not like the taste of it. But like all Body Shop smells, this one is very pleasant.
The smell remains on my skin for about an hour, then it disappears. I absolutely love the smell of my bathroom after a shower with this gel - it smells great but not for a long time.
It foams very well and is a very good cleanser. The producer also promises moisturising effects but I must say I have not noticed any - maybe because my skin is normal so it does not need much nourishing (I use body lotion more for pleasure than a real need).
The Body Shop Pomegranate Shower Gel costs £6.00 but I bought mine on sale for as little as £3.00.
Like all the Body Shop products, it is not tested on animals which I think is definitely an advantage.
I received this a part of a gift for my birthday, and I must admit that whilst I do love Body Shop products, shower gel is just not something I would normally spend over the odds on, so I would never have bought this for myself. It costs £2.40 for a travel-sized 60ml bottle, or £5.85 for the full-sized 250ml bottle.
It comes in a clear plastic bottle, so you can always see how much you have left. The lid has a flip up top which fastens tightly enough to leave it in a bag and take travelling with you without worrying about spillage.
The shower gel is a lovely pinky purpley colour and it has a nice thick texture which makes it feel quite luxurious to use, and also means that you don't need to use a lot at once so it can last twice as long as cheaper, runnier shower gels. The scent is a really sweet but still fresh and uplifting pomegranate scent, which is by no means synthetic smelling or overpowering.
It lathers up really well and produces a thick, soft lather which feels really soft and lovely against the skin. The scent also gets stronger as you lather it up, so the whole bathroom ends up smelling gorgeous and fruity.
After using it my skin feels really fresh, clean and soft. I do believe that this one actively moisturises the skin, so rather than just cleaning it without stripping the skin of it's natural oils, it keeps it feeling hydrated, soft, smooth and healthy.
I really like this shower gel, but it's not one of my favourites, so I still wouldn't want to spend that amount of money on it, and I'm afraid it's resigned, along with most of the others, to Christmas and Birthday lists!
