Advantages: Gorgeous smell, cleansing, contains real strawberry juice

Disadvantages: Bar dissolves very quickly if not stored correctly

For Christmas I was given a bar of soap from The Body Shop as part of a gift set, my sister bought it for me as she knows I love the scent of strawberries and in this particularly cold winter I welcomed the summery aroma of this soap.

I loved it from the very first use and just today asked my daughter to pick me a couple of bars up next time she's in The Body Shop, which knowing her will be very soon!

It has a beautiful strawberry aroma and smells extremely fresh and natural, this scent lingers well on my skin after use and although it's subtle it holds its own well for a good while after I've had a wash with it.

I find this soap very refreshing to use and I cannot fault it's cleansing properties, my skin doesn't feel dry after use either which is good news. I use a cleanser in the morning and at night so only tend to use this on my face if I need a quick swill for whatever reason during the day, last week I spent some time straightening the garden up and when I got back in my face felt grubby so I gave it a wash with this lovely strawberry soap. It not only got rid of all the visible dirt but brightened my skin and left me feeling as though I had a healthy glow, I have no idea whether this glow was real or not but my skin certainly felt better.

The only problem I find is that it dissolves very quickly, not so much when I'm using it but if left on the side of the sink it will visibly diminish in size as the water gets into it. I find this is easily solved by using my soap dish which has raised groove to prevent a build up of water around the soap, but do be aware of that as this lovely soap is one you will not want to waste.

I had a look at The Body Shop website and it tells me that this soap contains derivatives of palm oil and glycerin as well as real strawberry juice, which is presumably what gives it it's delicious natural smell. It costs £2.49 for a 100g bar which should last a while as long as you store it correctly, I think this is a reasonable price considering the price of soaps in Lush although to be fair as gorgeous as this soap is it's not quite in the Honey I Washed The Kids league!

Summary: A lovely bar of soap from The Body Shop.
