Advantages: great scent, nice price
Disadvantages: can be quite dry on skin
I have to admit, i'd never actually shopped at The Body Shop before.
Although I know it's a popular store i'd just never went in it and bought anything and used different stores instead.
Then I recently came across a 40% off voucher for The Body Shop and thought i'd pay it a visit.
I ended up treating myself to quite a few different products and one of them was this strawberry soap.
This soap is priced at £2 for a 100g bar, and I got 40% off it which was an even more decent price.
I noticed the soap came packaged in both a thin cling film wrap or a red light plastic see-through wrapper.
I decided to purchase the one inside the plastic wrapper.
The packaging just states The Body Shop logo in the middle along with saying it it a strawberry soap.
Whilst the back of the wrapper states it is a vegetable-based bar with strawberry extract and sustainable palm oil. Along with the ingredients which does include strawberry juice.. and the packaging also states that The Body Shop is against animal testing.
Opening the packaging was easy and did not require any scissors. Once opened you can notice the strawberry scent straight away. It is quite strong and rather nice and so gave a lovely impression when opened. I have since used this soap a few times. The soap bar is also bright red and when using it the strawberry scent is noticable and strong.
The soap also lathers up really well, however when using it I did feel that it left my skin feeling a bit dried out.
The main selling point for this soap is that it is strawberry scented, and this was actually the main reason I bought it. When using it I did not feel the scent was sickly strong or one that I would not like after time.
But I also do not think that this is a soap that I would use daily or repurchase again soon.
Although the scent is nice, as a soap bar I did not feel that it was moisturising or one that I would use/buy daily that could replace the Dove soap bar I usually buy.
I had read a few reviews about the bar of soap before saying that it is not long lasting and shrinks really quickly especially when left out.. and so I ended up putting the soap bar back into the plastic wrapper it came in when finished.
I found this to not make any change in the soaps size and so I will get a few more uses out of it.
Overall I give the soap 4/5 stars. It is one I did like using as the scent is great but it is not one that I would buy all the time. It would be great to use now and again and it has made me think that I would like to try the other bars of soap that The Body Shop sell as they had quite a variety of different scented ones.
If you haven't tried this before and you like different scented soaps/strawberry scent then I would purchase this, even if it isn't one I would buy regularly - I did find it to be a nice product and I don't regret purchasing it.
Thanks for reading
