===Why I Got This===

This Shea Body Scrub was part of a selection of Body Shop items I received from my son and his partner at Christmas time.

===The Product===

Round clear tub with cream screw lid.
200mls.
Ingredients include Fair Trade Shea Butter from Ghana (trade with the Tungteiya Women's Shea Butter Association has helped to fund three medical centres and 10 nursery schools)
Unfit for consumption and keep out of reach of children.
Use within 12 months.
Made in UK.
Top of lid has image of one Shea nut (a different picture to what is shown above).
There is label around the side but as it is printed in white it is very hard to read - just gives the name etc.

===Cost===

£12.50.

===My Opinion===

This tub, although it also contains 200mls, is slightly taller and smaller than the standard body butter tubs. The image on the new tubs shows just one large nut in the centre of the top label.
When you open the tub the scrub is white and granular and has a distinctive sort of nutty aroma. It is solid and looks just like wet sugar. I did think that this would be quite hard to use but it turned out not to be.
This can be used in either the bath or shower and I have used it in both. It can be applied to damp or dry skin and despite its appearance it is not harsh or too abrasive. I use it on my elbows, knees, bottom and feet and it lovely to use, giving off a great smell. In the shower there is no problem rinsing it off as it tends to disappear on its own. The scrub contains salt and sugar and when it had been rinsed off there is an oily residue on the skin. When I first used this in the shower I thought I would be feeling greasy but once you dry yourself it just leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised and there is no need to use a body lotion or butter afterwards. I was concerned at first as we have an over bath shower and I thought it might make the bath a bit slippery but I have had no problems so far.
I thought, being a smallish tub, that it would soon be used up but as I only need to use a tiny amount at a time it is lasting very well.
Be careful if using it in the bath as I managed to knock the tub into the bath but grabbing it quickly I saved the contents - it would not tip out but did get some water in it.
This scrub gives you a good invigorating cleanse and as well as helping to lift off dead skin cells it also leaves a lovely oily film on your skin which is needed during the winter.
I have also used it on my hands and that works well too - leaving them soft and smelling nutty.
This is a lovely product but I would definitely not pay the full price for it. Personally I have in the past made my own scrubs with either salt or sugar and some oil - either vegetable or baby oil. It works just as well and costs next to nothing.
However this was a lovely present and it is nice to use a scented product at bath time. It would be worth buying on the sale as Body Shop often has special offers.
