Advantages: Great smell, lasts for ages
Disadvantages: Expensive
For my birthday, I was given this shower gel in conjuction with a shower set which contained body butter to. I'd only ever bought the small bottles of shower gels from the Body Shop as little treats for myself whenever I had a bit of extra money, so having a giant bottle of the shower gel I'd grown to love was a great birthday present.
I prefer the Body Shop to Lush as I've used them more often and prefer them. The Body Shop don't test on animals which is always nice to know, and they stop my skin from coming out in weird rashes which is what it can sometimes do whenever any products touch my skin.
As this was a gift, I am unsure to how much this cost, however in conjuction with the body butter set I think it cost around £10 which was reasonable considering the quality and quantity of things you get within the set. However, from looking at the website it appears you can buy the shower gel for £12 in the larger size of 750ml. I think this is very overpriced for just shower gel, however you can find it on offer throughout the year quite a lot and it is significantly cheaper. If you want to try out the shower gel though there also is an option to purchase a smaller 250ml, and this costs around £4.
The shower gel itself comes in a large plastic bottle which was handy because I could see how much I had left and if this would actually be worth purchasing in the future as I hate when expensive things have to be the ones to run out the quickest.
It also was great for use within the shower as I find with smaller bottles I tend to have really clumsy fingers and they're always falling to the bath floor. The lid itself doesn't do the annoying thing of never closing or eventually falling off like most shower gels, which appears to be the case for many of the Body Shop's shower gel.
From what the label reads it says that the shower gel contains real lemon seed oil, which is keeping in line with the Body Shops use of natural products. The fragrance of the shower gel itself was really impressive as as soon as you open the bottle you get the strong yet refreshing scent of the lemon contained within the gel itself. This was a great smell to wake up to and stayed with me for quite a bit afterwards which woke me up during the winter months where you just don't want to go outside to the cold mornings.
The gel itself is not too thin or thick and dispenses in a nice amount for showering. It lathers enough and I've found it easy enough to use for both cleaning and shaving my legs, as usually shower gels aren't good enough for shaving legs. Another great thing I liked about it was the fact you didn't have to use loads, which meant I used it for months and there was still loads there.
Overal, I have to say that I love this product, it is one of my favourite shower gels from the Body shop and will continue to be that. I would definitely recommend it either as a gift or a treat to yourself.
Summary: Great product just wish it wasnt as expensive :(
