Love Etc is one of my favourite smells from the Body Shop. Described by The Body Shop as an irresistible fragrance it contains a heart stopping fusion of jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood notes. I absolutely adore the smell of jasmine and this fragrance really stands out in this body wash for me. It is light and fruity at the same time and really is a sexy smell in my opinion. I like to use this wash on a lovely summery day as I find the fragrance really light, summery and perfect for hot days.
The packaging of this body wash is gorgeous and it was one of the things that actually attracted me to the Love Etc range in the first place. I had noticed the Body Butter free in a magazine a few years ago and then they had a lovely display in the windonw of our local Body Shop of all the different products so I have been a fan since then. This body wash looks a bit different than the other body wash tubs in The Body Shop. This one comes in a white tub and is not see through like most of the other ones. Then on the front there is the Love Etc design which features lots of different coloured hearts in a sort of swirl pattern. The different colours to me look all summery too and really has a lovely cute look.
The body wash is lovely and leaves my skin smelling very fragrant and feeling quite soft after use. The body wash is soap free so its not as harsh as some soap cleaners can be which I like. I find this wash lathers up really quite easily, especially if you apply a little dollop to a bath puff. The Body Shop do some really nice bath puffs too and you can get one in almost the same colour pink as this body wash which is silly but quite nice that they match I think. The bottle has a pink flip cap lid so its quite easy to get into the bottle and squeeze a little bit out at a time but I find you have to stand the bottle up in the shower as there is no hook or anything like that for the shower.
The smell of the body wash stays on my skin quite well during the day and if I have used this in the shower in the morning I then like to apply the Body Butter to my skin when I get out just to intensify the smell of it on my body.
A 200ml bottle costs £6.50 and is available from The Body Shop.
If you read my reviews then you already know how much I love The Body Shop products and how frequently I buy and review them. This one, however, I did not have to buy. My sister received it as a birthday present and I was allowed to use it. I've been using it for a month now, so I thought I'd review it.
The shower gel comes in a plastic bottle just like other Body Shop shower gels. However, this bottle is more fancy-looking. It is white it colour and has a white label on it with a colourful hearts pattern made on the front. The bottle has a bright pink flip top lid. The lid is a little harder to flip open than other Body Shop shower gels, but still manageable. Since the bottle isn't clear it is not possible to see how much shower gel is left and I find this a little inconvenient.
The shower gel
The shower gel is transparent and quite thick-not runny. As soon as you pour some out, you are greeted with the strong scents of jasmine and vanilla. The scent is quite strong, but very pleasant and lingers on my skin for a couple of hours. The shower gel itself lathers very well. I use it with a shower sponge and I only need to use a small amount to wash my entire body. My sister has been using it for about 3 months now and I used it for 1 month and it's just finishing now. Even though it contains Community Fair Trade honey, the shower gel does not have a moisturising effect, but then it doesn't claim to. It doesn't dry my skin out either-it just leaves my skin feeling clean and smelling nice and that is what I expect from this product.
Price and Availability
As with all Body Shop products, this can be bought in store at The Body Shop stores nationwide or at The Body Shop website which is www.thebodyshop.co.uk. The 200 ml bottle retails for £6.50.
I quite like this product as it feels really luxurious to use and is a nice change from ordinary, cheap shower gels. It is expensive, and I would not buy it at full price. I was glad to use it for free, but would buy it if it was on sale, as it really is a great product. If you can afford it at full price, I would definitely recommend it, as the quality of the shower gel is excellent. I'm going to give this 4 stars because of the price.
