Advantages: Smells absolutely gorgeous, pretty bottle and fragrance transfers to the skin

Disadvantages: Absolutely none!

If you regularly follow my reviews you will be aware that I absolutely love both Betty Boop and toiletries and the majority of my reviews will be in one of these two categories. As I was so pleased with one of my new purchases I promptly emailed Dooyoo with a product suggestion to enable me to tell you all about it and this review discusses my experience of using The Pink Cow Lemon Cheesecake Bath and Shower Gel.

The Product

The Bath and Shower Gel is brought to us by a company named The Pink Cow, which is a registered trademark of Blue Orange. I have only recently been introduced to this company where I read a fellow Dooyooer's review and it was then they I decided to seek out their products. Whilst browsing through all of the beautiful toiletries in Boots approximately a month ago I discovered a limited range of The Pink Cow on the shelf, which immediately captured my eye. I was amazed at the array of delightfully coloured bottles of various fragrances of bath and shower gels and somehow quite a few managed to end up in my shopping basket! It's so strange how this continually happens to me!

Appearance of the Product

We are provided with 500ml of the vivid yellow bath and shower gel, which is presented to us in a transparent plastic bottle with an easy to open sturdy black flip top lid. My initial thoughts were that the design of both the packaging and advertising almost mirrors N-Spa where we are presented with a rather plump bottle with large bold black lettering informing us of its' name. In fact, when I first lifted the product from the shelf to take a closer look, I was of the opinion that it actually was N-Spa. The company doesn't seem to have a logo as such, as the words 'The Pink' Cow are in simple, yet eye-catching bold black lettering situated in the upper centre of the bottle.

The company are clearly fun loving as there is a considerable amount of quirky information contained on both the front and rear of the bottle and whilst I do not intend copying it all into this review I will advise you of a few sentences that captured my attention. We are informed "the scent of a lemon somehow makes the day seem sunny even when it's not", "be happy ... spring cleans your mind with the wildest of dreams" and "say hurray for no parabens - recycle me and I may come back as a tee shirt". All of these really made me smile, particularly the first, as we really should smile more!

Using the product

I have used this product in a number of ways; the first of which was as a bath foam where I only needed to dispense a very small amount of the fairly thick consistency gel into a running bath to create plenty of luxurious bubbles. I say luxurious because I was amazed as to how many were created from such a small amount of the gel, which dispensed very easily. The moment the bubbles started to swirl was the moment that the delightful zingy lemon fragrance was most definitely evident and within minutes my bathroom smelled absolutely stunning. I stepped into my hot lemon cheesecake bath water, lay back and relaxed where I enjoyed ten minutes of "me time" and I have to say that it was absolutely wonderful. The fluffy white bubbles enveloped my body and when I lifted them to my nose I could definitely witness the gorgeous fresh lemon fragrance, which smelled both natural and absolutely delightful.

I used a very small amount of the product on a net body polisher to wash myself and a plentiful lather was created on my skin within just a few seconds. The gel felt very soft and gentle and was both efficient and effective at removing all grease and grime, although I have to say that I did not feel either greasy or grimy when I stepped into my bath, but I'm sure you know what I mean! I rinsed away the gel and left my bath and towel dried. I was thrilled that the fragrance had transferred to my skin, as I was able to detect a subtle lemon scent; something which hubby also noticed as he informed me that I smelled gorgeous (a very rare occurrence indeed, so I was highly honoured!).

My Opinion

I cannot comment on how effective this product is for moisturising the skin due to the fact that I always apply either a body lotion or cream after bathing or showering, as this is always a vital part of my beauty routine and judging by the reviews on Dooyoo many of you do the same as me. I can confirm that I did not suffer any adverse reactions during or after use and felt that I was using a high quality luxurious product. However, I discovered that hubby has been sneaking this gel into his shower on a number of occasions and further on in this review I have made a statement advising of his thoughts with using this product. This is most definitely a very refreshing product, but the mistake I made was to use it for my evening bath, as in my opinion this product is best suited for the morning due to its' extremely invigorating and uplifting fragrance. As a result, I now use this gel solely for my morning shower and I have to say that despite using this product for almost a month I still have plenty remaining for many more refreshing showers.

I was amazed that I was able to purchase this gorgeous gel for just £2 and in my opinion products as luxurious as this generally cost much more. I actually returned to Boots one week later and filled up another basket with bath and shower gels from this range, as these will be placed in my Christmas pamper hampers for various female family members and friends. Oh yes, I also picked up another two bottles of Lemon Cheesecake for little old me!

Other information

As with all products of this nature care should be taken not to get into the eyes and if contact should occur you should immediately rinse with water. The fragrance is allergen free and the product has not been tested on animals, so is therefore suitable for vegetarians. The bottle should be used within 12 months of opening and is recyclable once empty.

My recommendation

As I am sure you will have guessed by now, The Pink Cow Lemon Cheesecake Bath and Shower Gel comes with my full recommendation, as it is simply perfect. It would make a beautiful Christmas present for your female family and friends and of course, YOU! Although I have mentioned females within my review, I have to say that I have caught hubby using this on a few occasions (without my permission!), as the lemon aroma is well suited to both sexes. Hubby's skin always seems to feel soft and smooth regardless of the products he uses and he advised me that in using this product his skin continued to feel silky smooth without the need to apply a moisturising cream or lotion. Consequently, this bath and shower gel receives 5 stars from me.

Price and Availability

Unfortunately, I only seem to be able to locate this product in Boots where you will discover other products within the range, such as Strawberry Sundae, which is bright pink and I hope to review this shortly. As previously stated, the price for this product is simply first class as for just £2 you will receive 500ml of beautifully scented bath and shower gel.

I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
