lovely shower gel which leaves skin healthy and fresh

The Sanctuary range is without a doubt one of my favorite skincare and body care ranges due to its amazing quality and great scents. This particular version of their classic products, named Kuan Jin, is especially good. The scent is, as always, nice and light so as not to overpower, and it smells floral and clean. The texture of the product is just right and it lathers immediately and richly on the skin. I really like that way it feels on the skin as well. It gently cleanses and leaves skin looking more even in tone and with a healthy glow due to the shimmering, iridescent tones in the product. The price is reasonable, given the quality and the product is sold at boots, where there are often 3 for 2 offers, making it good value. This shower gel also looks pretty and the packaging is definitely good enough to look good in the bathroom! This shower gel also goes particularly well with the body scrub from the kuan jin range.

A nice body wash but didn't make me quite so excited as some of the other Sanctuary products.

Another one of the products I've been using lately from my birthday-present bag of Sanctuary goodies is the Kuan Jin body wash. I have already waxed lyrical about the matching scrub, and have been using this alongside as a bubble bath, and of course to wash my body. If you're not familiar with Sanctuary, it started out as a chain of spas, but the products are now also available in Boots or online at www.thesanctuary.co.uk. They feel luxurious and decadent, but are actually pretty affordable and make excellent everyday pampering treats. Sanctuary have several ranges, each with their own scent and different packaging, and the Kuan Jin products smell very fresh and clean (my mum says it smells like babies!). The products in this range are quite shimmery, the scrub containing crushed oyster shell, and this body wash looks decidedly pearly, without being glittery at all. Although it's not actually designed to be a bubble bath (there is one in the range, though), I often use shower gels for this purpose and find they work just as well. I like being able to soak in water that smells the same as the product I'm washing with so I don't have any fragrance clashes going on. This does create a fair amount of bubbles although that also means that you end up using the bottle up a bit faster. Still, you don't need much and the top of the bottle is one of those which flips up when pressed down at one end with a small hole for the product to come out of. It is easy to control the amount you use and bubbles up easily in the water. For washing your body, the product doesn't create masses of lather unless you put it on a bath scrunchie (does anybody know that the real name for those is?!) , in which case it works really nicely, and you don't need to use very much at all. It is creamy and moisturising, not at all runny, and easy to work into the skin. My skin is left feeling clean and fresh, but the scent is not at all overpowering, which I find is true of most Sanctuary products. I have also noticed that when I've washed my hair in the bathwater, it smells great and exactly like the fragrance of this body wash, no matter what shampoo I've been using! Sanctuary claim this body wash makes your skin feel smooth, and it contains all kinds of "good stuff" such as antioxidants lychee and goji berry. I must say, I'm not totally convinced that these make any difference, and I would say my skin feels smooth because of the Kuan Jin scrub I use alongside it, but I do feel clean at least, and truly clean not just overpowered by the scent of a bath product. A 250ml bottle of this body wash is priced at £5.50 from Boots or the Sanctuary's website. I have been using mine for about a month two or three times a week as a bubble bath and body wash. I have got about quarter of the way down the bottle. While obviously you could buy a shower gel far cheaper, but a pampering, luxury brand I feel this is pretty good value. I'm not sure if I would repurchase, because it lacks the wow factor I got when using the scrub of the same range, but I am certainly enjoying using the one I have!
